I think, as it's the single, GT has just been overplayed so much, on his interviews, etc, etc, so I started to skip it on the album. I find that happens a lot with 'pop' for me... Maybe to fans who listen to every interview and listen to the song on repeat it seems like it's been overplayed, but to a "normal" person who might just listen to the radio in the car and maybe catch a TV performance or two (e.g. GMA, Tonight Show), they might hear the song two or three times a week of they're lucky. It's not being played once an hour on the radio (unfortunately!). I've never heard it on the radio here There were firework displays and street parties all weekend here, and music playing for the street, I heard Madonna's Ghost Town but never Adam's.... I have watched and listened to many interviews and it's always played, but I wasn't a huge fan of it anyway to begin with...

My preferences in music are very wide. From rock to pop to dance/trance. I do need a melody though and it needs to stay at least a bit soft. Hard Rock, Hardcore and Hard Style for instance aren't really my thing. Maybe my fine senses (I'm HSP) aren't ready for that I'm HSP too....

Another thing I wanted to say about singles in general is yes, they are an odd thing about what people like. The song "Cheerleader" my husband was singing after only hearing it 2x's & said he loves it. My girls love it too, saw that it was #2 on the European chart as well as being huge here on the US charts now too. It's just such a catchy song with an amazing hook & we all LOVE it. That song seemed to shoot right to the top almost immediately, but I'm not sure if that's the case or not but seemed like they just started playing it a few wks ago & it's already huge all over the world. I don't listen to radio that much, I kind of flip through & try to find Ghost Town & then listen for a bit until I can't find a song I like then I switch back to Adam & TOH. Cheerleader hasn't 'just' shot up the charts. It has been bouncing around since 2012, got a substantial remix in 2014 and start getting attention from radio after it smashed on internet media. The power of net- sharing. Some songs are just undeniable, Shut Up and Dance, Uptown Funk for examples, one listen and you knew the song was going to be huge.

Yes, my simple theory has a lot of flaws!! It lasted about 5 minutes. Yeah, I was chewing over your theory last night, Q3, and I think The Light is more dancey than rock.... I don't believe there is a rock track on the album, but there are rock touches here and there. Lucy has a rock guitar. "The Light" has some rock vocals on it and the song is structured like a rock anthem. Anyway, it was just a thought about why TOH seems to be generally a popular track but not a favorite of some fans. Maybe it is simply a matter of response to music after 1,000 listens vs. 3 listens. Nothing new about Adam fans not loving the singles. WWFM was not a universal fan favorite. Neither were any of the other singles. GT certainly was not a universal favorite.

Yes, I agree, a rock flourish here and there... As for the singles, I actually really like NCOE though I've heard people dissing it on here, but I disliked WWFM (a lot) until I heard the acoustic version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKXyAJG5Wbo
