On page one today ...I lifted a quote from an article. ‘ The Original High’ debuted in the US Billboard Top 3, the UK Top 10 and the Worldwide Top 3, sending Adam’s sales to over 2.5 million units worldwide.
I have been wondering about sales worldwide...so was interested to see this. Guess I should go to the numbers thread more often...haha  When Adam was leaving the AI bubble, Kris Allen thanked a media person for buying his "single"... so he got approximately .9 cents. At that time on the thread there was talk of ---on an "album" sale--- Adam may get $1.00. Anyone have any clue about such things? Is that a number that still is in the ball park? Pretty sure that 2.5 million worldwide is ALL of his album sales from all 3. No way in hell has TOH done 2.5 million all on its own. Adam has pretty consistently sold about 40% of his total sales volume outside the US. The last numbers we had for the US at the end of August was 71k. Yes, that is the global total album number -- mostly FYE sales. |

Oh gee...Thanks Rihannsu....when one ( ie me!  ) is not knowledgeable about numbers ...the 2.5 million seemed so exciting. And of course...I interpreted the statement in the context of just TOH.  Dizzy blonde here ...well actually brunette with highlights. I guess only the labels would know exact world wide sales numbers for the past 6 years...and Adam's financial share. Just my curiosity kicking in. Reading googled articles re artist payment...is of no value...they are all over the place. It was interesting that back in the day, The Beatles deal was reputed to be one of the worst deals ever at 1.8%. Presently, some Indie artists often get 50%. ....Back from our loss on the football field,  ....Now to get caught up on the thread.  That concert was something to smile about! Indie artist get to keep 50% of close to nothing in sales -- the best thing is to be a major label artist who has big sales like Katy Perry or Taylor Swift. |
