www.therealstevegray.com/2011/05/us-tv-scared-of-gay-male-sexuality/US TV – Scared Of Gay Male Sexuality? We all remember the massive controversy that erupted in the U.S. after Adam pashed Tommy at the AMA’s and was dumped from other TV bookings. Watch here if you missed it………………….. Well, last night Rhianna and Britney murdered ‘Sand M’ at the AMA’s and acted like 10 dollar whores, swinging off poles and slutting it up big time. watch here………………… What is so different? Why can women get away with it but not a man? Is it because of Adam being out? Or that RiRi and BritBrit are as sexy as mouldy cheese and not actually sexual? The double standards of U.S. TV drives me insane.

You know it really would be great to have some/one TV executive actually adress what they saw so different between the acceptability of these videos...seriously. They must have some sort of reason in their minds and I would love to hear it explained.
Is it truly just homophobia? If so....how do they justify all the gay sex showing up in mainstream dramas? Is it really more palatable when it is females? Why?
Is Adam making a difference? Is he following a trend?, setting a trend? or an exception to the rule?

Come on Atop peeps! Let us know where you're from! Don't like to see you flailing somewhere out there in the ocean! Love you all! ;D I agree. JustKaren's map is fabulosity squared and is a LOT of hard work. I understand that for many anonominity is important in this cyberspace world of ours, but, come on Atopians - even if it's a general area, or just a state in the US. I know that personally, it helps enormously to know where and WHEN most importantly time zone wise peeps are from when I'm posting. Perhaps those concerned can at least name a continent or continent plus north part, south part, west part... OK you get the idea:-) I like some privacy too which is why I am PST so understand. But hopefully we can get people at least to shore ??? ;D

Chunkey, you took the words right outta my mouth. I call BS on that ~holier than thou Rawk Cred attitude; it's almost laughable to me now. And the LA Times covers Idol constantly, so this Pop & Hiss thing is like working both sides of the street. I mean, we snark the hell out of it, but I don't begrudge one performer for going on their and doing everything they can to sell their work and I totally believe if these rock gods had a similar platform in their day, they'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm sure they entered many a Battle of the Bands competition for radio stations. This is the same thing on a much larger scale. This larger scale brings with it an insane amount of commercialism, but that's because it's being seeing by 25 million people. (Doesn't take a marketing mastermind to figure that out.) And Bono and The Edge have an insanely expensive musical to save that they've worked on for years; they've got to pull out all the stops. I also thought of Sutan when I saw that painting on my phone last night. I can see Adam hair, Sutan coloring and physical manner ... not sure about the face. And one could argue that U2 using their music in a Broadway play is ..well...not really selling out per say, but they are going a very commercial route here--Spiderman--to make money off their music. It's as "commercial" in my opnion as playing on Idol, except the risk of someone plunging to their death is considerably lower. LMAO.And in the end, artistry aside, every band or musician wants to make money off their music so come on. This "Idol is so commercial and I am a bleeding heart artiste" mentality is crap. Ok done ranting now lol And speaking of U2 and their Spiderman woes... movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=649110>1=28101

The Schiele art reminds me more of Sutan - especially the hands.

I may or may not have stared at today's banner pic for five solid minutes. Time well spent. :D Without a doubt. I have a totally random question. Does this painting remind you of Adam? I know it's not good likeness, but would you think of Adam if you happened upon it? Jamie, I have to disagree with some of the comments about this painting and Adam.. Does it look like Adam? Absolutely not! Does it remind me of Adam? Hell, yes! I think the fact that you bought this before you even knew about Adam is kind of amazing, in my book! Hang it on one your walls, woman!

This is really interesting, and I will have to go back and check later for the comments on this article. I am not familiar with "Pop & Hiss (?)" But this seems to validate the "stigma" of AI, and from being a contestant on that show, that we have all debated regarding Adam. Seems like a shame that this attitude prevails, because, like it or not, AI is a huge show, one of the most popular on American TV, and the finale will get around 25 MILLION viewers in the US, and who knows how many more around the world. I don't think it would be embarrassing for any band to perform on that show. I will be watching tomorrow night just to see Adam and MyS*&@^#r. Well it seems that a lot of the old guard bands have this stuck up attitude towards AI, but come on, if this show was around when they were busting their balls to make it they woulda jumped on it. At least 50 % of them would I'm sure. But now that they made it they seem to take on a holier then thou attitude about the whole thing which sucks, especially the ones who go on the show to pimp their shit--tv, song, movie--and then still stick their nose up at it. Gimme a break. It's not a perfect show by any means but don't begrudge the contestants--for the most part they are people who are talented and hungry to make it and have been working to make it happen but not getting anywhere. Well, for the most part. Teenage country bots excluded. LOL So, supposedly, they are maintaining their rock cred because it is not really U2 but just Bono and the Edge!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Divas much!! Bono and The Edge are the faces of U2!! In my book, I am seeing U2 perform with the cast of Spiderman! ;D
