Well, finally checking in and weighing myself for the first time again. Have missed all the check-in days due to travel. Had a fall while on a holiday in Vegas, so have been stiff with scabs in multiple places, bruised cheekbone, and a swollen hand & wrist, but finally getting back to walking regularly, which is usually 3-4 times a week, weather permitting, for about 55 minutes. This time of year I also curl twice a week and have missed several weeks of that, but also back at it until mid-March when the season is over.
For me it's all about cutting back on portions and especially the snacking of sweet stuff, so working on that a day at a time. Hope to record some weight loss after my first full week next week.

I managed to end up down .6 lbs even after a major pig out at a Chinese Buffet over the weekend and major movie popcorn last night.

The early indicators are that I haven't changed a bit since last week. How you all doin'?
My hubby is thinking of doing a cleanse. I'm thinking juice cleanse. Any suggestions?

Hi All Back from my travels and finally ready to start my journey this year, to lose 20lbs. More would be nice but age is bringing a greater sense of realism! Haven't dieted for quite a while now so not sure how strong I can be, Have enjoyed catching up with the thread and the ups and downs everyone faces. I have done a bit of a survey among friends this week and it seems to me that a lot of success has been had by following the 'eat normally but sensibly for five days and eat only 500 calories for the other two days' principle - seems the latest diet craze here. Weight loss isn't drastic - perhaps 2lbs a month but I'd be thrilled with that, the way I feel at the moment. So wondering if anyone has tried that/ is doing that.....and whether it works for you.....or any advice gratefully received....x

Hi all. Well I am back. For how long I don't know. I am on prednisone for PMR (Polymyalgia Rheumatica) and have blown up like a balloon. I ordered and received The Negative Calorie Diet by Rocco Dispirito. There is a ten day cleanse that says you will lose 10 lbs. in those ten days. I am going to try it once I go grocery shopping and pick up all the foods and other stuff that go with the cleanses. There are recipes for every one of the cleanses and everyone of the soups and salads. Some do not look too bad. You drink 3 cleanses a day and eat one meal a day consisting of a salad or soup. Do this for ten days and you will lose ten pounds. Yeh.
My youngest son has been living with us for several months getting caught up on bills and paying for a car. Since he can't wait to get away from us he cleaned up his debts pretty quickly. Of course, I had to cook for DH and DS for the last few months and that helped put some of the weight back on. Once DS is gone (this week) DH and I will try cleansing. I will let you know if I find anything interesting about this ten day cleanse, ten pound loss. Yeh. It will be a miracle.
