I've been gaining slightly. I still track daily so I know exactly what's happening but I probably won't focus on it too much until after the holidays. Oh Hiya! I dropped 5 from my starting point and then have plateaued. It's snacking that's bad. Up from my computer? get a snack. Go for a walk? get a snack I'm mentally undisciplined. Gotta work on my disincentives. SaveMaybe try committing to recording what you are going to eat BEFORE you do it so that your snacking can kind of slap you in the face. LOL. Or only have limited snack options available like grapes, cherries, carrots, celery, maybe some homemade veggie chips.

Hi! I'm still here but struggling with bouts of binges! Weight is up and down , up and down. Has been a very stressful month - my mother is sick and I have been taking care of her, election has stressed me out majorly and trying to do house repairs. Haven't been to WW for a while either. Thank goodness things are starting to settle down a bit. Good luck to you guys!!

Decided to check in here and I see it is very slow as well. chapf - this is awesome! (as usually) Not much to report on my part, same old "hanging around" 130 lbs no matter what, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more...I guess it's my body's happy weight... Instead of "loosing" I decided to concentrate on physical activity, so trying to jog/walk/gym at least five times a week...the actual goal is "every day" though it never happens :-/ I suppose we'll have a "Shape up in 2017" thread and we'll see some action there - the NY resolutions !

stardust, hope your mother is doing better. I was talking to a sympathetic neighbor today about the election while I was on my dog walk.
nica575, thanks for reminding me to start up a new thread when it's time. It's always good to get back into the swing of it.

Hi !
Just popping in to do a final report on a year of dieting! Well....since early Feb really.
I aimed for 20lbs and failed - after a few weeks i knew it was never on the cards...
BUT today I weigh 11-12 lbs less than I did then and I'm happy with that, especially as it was a real struggle to stay motivated. The tiny amounts of loss eventually added up. And now it all starts again!! Another 10 lbs in 2017....?

Sophie, WAY TO GO! IMO 12 lbs in 10-11 months is great! slow and steady! Do you exercise? Today I found a great Adam song for running! You'll never guess...I took my very old ipod with all kinds of early Adam songs on it to the gym (I got really tired of the stuff on my phone) and discovered that Beg For Mercy is exactly at the very energetic 5.4 mph rate... yup...I know, I know... </img>

Gives Beg for Mercy a new meaning.....(and well may you duck, traitor).... This year has taught me a lesson that I should have learned a long time ago. Whatever the instinct to starve or do fad diets or to get out and walk hours every day (all of these were/are me) it really does come down to changing ones normal eating pattern permanently. Just like the experts always say. That old thing of eating sensibly. Who knew? As you say.....very slow but steady.... A pound a month in 2017 will suit me fine.....but I'll probably get my comeuppance for sounding such a smartarse and end up a stone heavier instead. Don't be sticking pins in me, y'all.....
