I am still contemplating the cleanse but I am trying to get the food in my freezer gone so I can start shopping for all the fresh stuff and other things which I have never heard of. I have to go to Mother Earth to get monk fruit in the raw, coconut manna, acacia fiber, and Rocco's protein powder.
I wonder if it is worth it. I have never tried a cleanse and I really have to get some weight off. My right hip is getting worse and I go for a shot next week to see if I can get rid of some of the pain and walk without a cane. I have lost 2 lbs. just giving up sugar, bread, and milk. I have been making homemade minestrone and having just soup for lunch. I also bought some almond milk for cereal. The recipe I have for minestrone is great. It anyone would like it, let me know.

I am up 3 lbs and I am blaming it all on the King Cake that I am eating all by myself this week.

What's a King cake? My DH, despite always being admonished not to, brought home a red velvet cake. Damn. So yes an up week for me too. Thought I was doing pretty good until along came the weekend. My DS has been sick since Thursday with a cold like Stardust's and still not feeling great.

Sorry Stardust isn't feeling too good....but it seems to have had an upside!
Rihannsu - you're like me....feel the need to finish something, instead of putting it in the bin!
Glad Jablea has no idea what a King cake is either.
I have lost exactly one pound; (1.2lbs last week). I have been really good - walking a least 90 mins a day (not sure if this loses weight but it stops me eating) and doing 2 days on an estimated (almost starvation level) 500 calories each; fruit and home made vegetable soup mostly.
Watching calories for just two days a week is much easier for me, so far, than waking up everyday to 'dieting' - the other five days, as per last week have been just sensible eating rather than restrictive eating.
I have developed a target this week. I am spending a week in Venice in June and seeing QAL in Padua right in the middle of it. From now I have 19 weeks.....I am aiming for 19lb!
OK - won't do it and I know I'll probably hit the buffers soon - but let me dream for a while......
Good luck this week.

I'm no good at describing food so here's the wiki about it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_cake

Down about half a pound. Good thing check in wasn't Tuesday though or I'd have been in trouble.

Shoot, Wednesday. I did weigh myself this morning. Not good news. Yeah Stardust so glad your jury duty is almost over. I hope it was interesting, I'd have to take caffeine pills.
So did a recipe tonight that both husband and I liked. Easy peasy 2 minutes. I guess it's a side dish but since it has beans it can be a whole meal.
1 can of sweet corn 1 can of black beans 1/2 cup salsa
Rinse the canned stuff and then mix together. I tried it with a bit of bacon too and that was good. I've been doing a mix of Poppyseed dressing and Hemp Oil for my regular salad dressing and I poured a tablespoon of that on it too. I'm betting you could add in some yogurt if you wanted too. The original recipe called for halved grape tomatoes and taco seasoning instead of the salsa. And oh, I just saw that I was supposed to wrap it in a foil packet and grill it for 10 minutes. That's ok, I was happy with it cold.

Wednesday again, it keeps coming back like Groundhog's day.
My report is no change, perhaps up a little. Not surprising. So why do I keep posting? Because without you all and knowing I have to report I'd be up a lot more.
And I don't have will power when it comes to other people buying stuff for me without me asking. Hubby's bought donuts every other week, of course he's losing weight on them. Grandpa bought apple pie to share. I made oatmeal/coconut cookies w/applesauce (no shortening)and wheat flour but I'm not sharing.
Hmmm, I have an important "event" to attend in two weeks, maybe that will make me be better.
