At first I was really nervous about Adam 2 because of Cook's numbers. Then I listened to the album online and I couldn't get through the whole thing. I think it is boring, nothing unique at all. I think everything depends on the quality of the music. Adele didn't have any gimmicks to sell so much, but the music is good! My hope is that Adam makes great music. I think there will be enough PR for him to sell decent but only if the music is good. In that area, I trust Adam. I hate his new album and I like Cook. He lost all of what I call his "furry" voice and every song is the same. Start out a one level and take it to the next one where he's straining his voice against the wall. Push, push push push and then he's done. I swear the one they did on SYTYCD is his best but it still has the pushy chorus and it's best hook "if you" makes it sound like a play on "FU". They released his acoustic of 4 or 5 songs too and what was the difference? It wasn't that they were different or the chorus less bombastic they simply didn't have surround sound. As Adam might say the album doesn't play like a playlist, it plays like one song with 7 different verses. |

I do not think this has any meaning related to Adam's album. The situations are completely different and they are in a different genre. However, I do expect some meltdown on MJs if Adam's numbers come in big.  |

Yes, and it is amazing how quickly it went from "His numbers will be amazing" to "I am so proud of him for making the album he wanted" Most of you know, I am a fan of David Cook. Loved him on Idol and I actually liked the first album. I preordered this album and got one for my daughter from Target because she likes this kind of music. She is a really big Daughtry fan too. As much as I really like about 5 songs on this album, I can't see one that will be a hit single. ZERO! I don't see anything that will help the sales of this album. I am betting it will not go Gold which is sad because David is a talented man and should be allowed to make album #3. Oh, and I no longer believe that Cook's sales have anything to do with Adam's. The Adam Storm and Adam August will soon be upon us!! |

myspenser - thanks for being "real" in spite of being a Cook fan. It's good to see an opinion w/o the spin. I too like Cook but won't buy the album as I'm saving for the Adam Storm.
