Speaking of Rihanna and divas in underwear ... Rihanna gave a lap dance to a female fan. I tweeted that Adam should definitely do this for next tour. Someone tweeted back that tickets would cost $3,000. True. I also said we'd likely have to sign a legal waiver and have our next of kin on standby ... This is pretty hot! So, just wondering... Could a guy get away with this? Even if it were with a female fan? Guess not, huh? ITA. It is hot! There are videos on youtube of some pretty spicy interactions with Usher and female fans during his concerts. I'll see if I can find one.

What's new about that - the girl loves to display her body which she does on every possible occasion. heh. : I just watched the interview...it was good. You can't lump Gaga's body display with that of the other Diva's, IMO, because she isn't showing it to look sexyt....she is making her own point. She rarely looks even remotely sexualized...she moves to a rythem but it is not to titilate the male gaze the way Brittany/Rhianna/Beyonce do. She looks real in an odd sort of surreal way...no fake boobs....airbrushing....voguey posing....she almost celebrates awkwardness and a dystopian sort of non-beauty That is why she has such avid fans....which I have never really been....just as I was never a big fan of Madonna... but they both have that fierce individuality and strength...and intelligence... about them that is missing in so many of the other female divas. Adam is special and unique also.... but his linneage is of Elvis and Freddie... hopefully he doesn't end up suffereing their fraileties as well....it looks like he walks on more solid ground .. only time will tell. Well aren't I the chatty cathy tonight....I will try to be a little less verbal for a bit here... I know these comparisons get made a lot, but I've never seen Adam as being akin to Elvis or Freddie. He's a purely 21st century boy. He's not hiding a big secret due to cultural norms, nor is he a "manufactured" pop star as much a creation of his management as himself. His honesty, his openness, his self-creation and re-invention, as well as his grounded-ness all appear to point to a very different future (not that I can see into it, LOL).

I feel Elvis was totally manipulated & controlled in a way we can't imagine now. So much pressure put on him! Recording artists now know how to control their stuff! Freddy, I feel, was just being his own fabulous self, in a time before we truly knew about how to be safe in this day & age of AIDS. And, if you notice, no one is dying from AIDS anymore, they're living with it!! (THANK YOU DRUG COMPANIES! - NOTTTT! - I believe they know things they're not telling us about! Total legal Drug Dealers - but that's another rant!) I truly feel Adam has a handle on these things - knows what to do & what not to do - for longevity! His feet are firmly planted on the ground IMHO! He is truly our 21st Century Boy!! ;D

With all the money she is making you would think she could afford a dress or two made of actual fabric. And if fabric is just too conventional for her I am sure some of the old Project Runway paper or leaf dresses are still floating around... personally I am sick and tired or her knickers and bras, it was old ages ago, now it's just getting tedious. Making more money doesn't always translate to wearing more clothes! ;D The more money the pop divas make, like Beyonce and Katy P., the more of their boobs I see! I thought Beyonce was going to pop out of the top of her dress or we were going to get a HMV shot during the girls number on the Finale of AI! I wonder when Adam will show up in his underwear for an interview? If that happens, the network going to get the highest rating in history of television ratings.. EVER... LOL

I watched the Gaga interview.. . I think she is amazingly talented and very intelligent. The only time I really thought I caught the real her was when she said she wants to be called Stephanie, not Gaga in bed and laughed. That was the moment I thought I really saw her and might understand her. Stephanie is reserved for intimacy, her inner most being. All the rest is her performance art for her fans. She gives her audience all that she has, but she saves herself for her self and her intimates. This probably helps keep her from being totally known and vulnerable. As she inferred people build you up to knock you down, they want to see you fail. The difference to me between her and Adam .. is his warmth, emotionalism, availability, openness. He seems more secure and less afraid of the pit falls of fame. IMO Adam is enjoying the ride for as long as it lasts,he hopes it lasts forever but if it doesn't, he will continue on enjoying whatever life has in store for him. I think Gaga's whole life and self worth is wrapped up in her art, without it she doesn't totally exist. She has an alter ego. Adam is Adam no matter what. JMHO.

Excellent point, MsZue and rabbitrabbit. Eek!! No TV? I was definitely a raised-on-TV latchkey kid. Since both my parents worked full time, we could pretty much watch/do anything we wanted. And actually, we ended up policing ourselves. LOL, I pretty much stayed home alone if I was sick from the time I was 8.
This coincides with my theory that these "family values" type organizations, that tend to control with fear, like to keep the masses ignorant. That's how they wield their power. When people are educated, they can make an informed decision. I was always the vehement safe-sex advocate among my friends in high school – spurred probably by one too many After School Specials, who knows. I feel much of my moral compass was influenced by the TV shows I watched and the books I read. And yes, my parents were always rather non-judgmental, so I felt I could talk to them about most things.
My friends, however, with very conservative parents were adamant that they could NEVER tell their parents they were having sex. And meanwhile, they were engaging in some extremely risky behavior.

I compared Adam to Elvis when thinking of the young Elvis. Elvis had that same humility..or lack of arrrogance...and niceness in conjunction with the overt sensuality that made parents fear for their girls! :-) Sadly, the constant pressure from the press and the manipulation of him by Parker led him to become a sad parody of what he could have been...that is what I was comparing him too. There was an attraction to Elvis that Adam also has....that charisma.... I also feel pretty confident that Adam is far more savvy and intellectually prepared to deal with fame and all its peripherals.
The big fear is that he gets badly betrayed by people/a person he completely trusts....that is the kind of think that would undercut Adam ... he seems to have good person judgement but it can always happen.
If you watch that GAGA interview it is interesting to see how she is dealing with fame....
