Speaking of Rihanna and divas in underwear ... Rihanna gave a lap dance to a female fan. I tweeted that Adam should definitely do this for next tour. Someone tweeted back that tickets would cost $3,000. True. I also said we'd likely have to sign a legal waiver and have our next of kin on standby ... This is pretty hot! So, just wondering... Could a guy get away with this? Even if it were with a female fan? Guess not, huh? I think Usher did something similar and Janet? ETA: I see that's a yes. ;D I really find them kind of cheesy and embarrassing like some soft core Cinemax after dark. : Give me Adam and an unvirtuous mic any day. 8-) I think you can get away with a lot in concert unless somebody decides to make an issue out of it. I was a little surprised his Amsterdam show didn't make a little news. For the most part his show was sexy because he was sexy it was pretty pg13. I think he could get away with a little more next tour. I loved the little news cycle where the Tommy kiss in fever made the rounds and nobody blurred it or made a fuss in contrast to the first kiss heard round the world. Progress. I'm more interested in the question can Adam make the kind of music these women make and have it work with his voice and stage presentation and get it played on radio? He wants in this pantheon but is there a place for a man here? Most of the hit makers he's working with have their hits with women Kesha, Britney, Katy, Pink , Adele. What the hell is this album going to sound like?????? It's going to drive me nuts

I feel Elvis was totally manipulated & controlled in a way we can't imagine now. So much pressure put on him! Recording artists now know how to control their stuff! Freddy, I feel, was just being his own fabulous self, in a time before we truly knew about how to be safe in this day & age of AIDS. And, if you notice, no one is dying from AIDS anymore, they're living with it!! (THANK YOU DRUG COMPANIES! - NOTTTT! - I believe they know things they're not telling us about! Total legal Drug Dealers - but that's another rant!) I truly feel Adam has a handle on these things - knows what to do & what not to do - for longevity! His feet are firmly planted on the ground IMHO! He is truly our 21st Century Boy!! ;D Actually, even though AIDS is managed somewhat as a chronic illness these days (at least in the U.S. for those who know they have it and have access to drug therapy), people are still dying of it every day. 18,000 a year in the U.S, according to the CDC. At any given time we have one or two patients in my hospice who are dying of AIDS or AIDS-related illness. We have a long way to go. And don't get me started on access to drugs in under-developed countries... >:(

I compared Adam to Elvis when thinking of the young Elvis. Elvis had that same humility..or lack of arrrogance...and niceness in conjunction with the overt sensuality that made parents fear for their girls! :-) Sadly, the constant pressure from the press and the manipulation of him by Parker led him to become a sad parody of what he could have been...that is what I was comparing him too. There was an attraction to Elvis that Adam also has....that charisma.... I also feel pretty confident that Adam is far more savvy and intellectually prepared to deal with fame and all its peripherals. The big fear is that he gets badly betrayed by people/a person he completely trusts....that is the kind of think that would undercut Adam ... he seems to have good person judgement but it can always happen. If you watch that GAGA interview it is interesting to see how she is dealing with fame.... mszue-Your description of Elvis is exactly the way I think of him. He had kindness, beauty, humility, loyalty, genuineness, loved his mother so much and a great love for his music. I have watched specials showing him "relaxing" after a monster concert by jamming with his band. He loved his music. His voice and his stage presence, sensual and compelling. There was an aching vulnerability about him. I see Adam in the same light except so well grounded. And I pray that Adam never experiences the heartbreaks and the demons that fell upon Elvis. ETA- Yes, people are still dying of AIDS. A friend died of AIDS despite all the "miracle" drugs available today. It still happens.

If you watch that GAGA interview it is interesting to see how she is dealing with fame.... This makes sense. I definitely see that intangible charisma, stage presence and dichotomy of fierce vulnerability in Adam and Elvis. However, I think Adam is MUCH more prepared for all of this. He has his foundation of family and friends firmly laid and he was much older when he found success. I think it's more that he has the stage presence and complexity of both. He also has comparable power vocals to Freddie and he does at times bear a strong resemblance to Elvis. Speaking of Freddie, as JanusAquarius was saying on twitter during !RantBert! That those who were kids at the time (me) never thought for a minute that Freddie killed a man or that Bob Marley shot a sheriff. IMO, kids are really not that clueless. And I flove 21st Century Boy!!

While Adam was ranting, soooo many tweets coming from South America begging him to go there. And, interestingly, some were specifying that they wanted Glam Nation. It's funny, whenever he posts a WhoSay pic if you read the FB comments below, so many are from South Americans (including lots of cute fanboys!). I hope he gets there soon.

IMO, there is no greater compliment for Adam than to be compared to Elvis. Whatever demons Elvis had, he never lost his beautiful voice and the love of many millions of fans. I was fortunate to witness Elvis in the late 50's and again at the very end of his life. It is so exciting to be here at the beginning of another great career.

I know these comparisons get made a lot, but I've never seen Adam as being akin to Elvis or Freddie. He's a purely 21st century boy. He's not hiding a big secret due to cultural norms, nor is he a "manufactured" pop star as much a creation of his management as himself. His honesty, his openness, his self-creation and re-invention, as well as his grounded-ness all appear to point to a very different future (not that I can see into it, LOL). I can understand the Adam/Elvis/Freddie comparisons. They all have that "it" factor on stage, own the audience, sing from their soul and drive women crazy with their sex appeal and voices and made some people uncomfortable because of it. I agree with you that Adam the person and pop star is and will be uniquely Adam. And I love your 21st century boy title too, perfect.

Hmmm, here's a new tidbit ... Adam started following Rosie O'Donnell. BTW, she used to live in Miami more than half the time (she likely still does – I just don't see her show, so don't know for sure). Met at a party maybe?

If you watch that GAGA interview it is interesting to see how she is dealing with fame.... Elvis was managed but he was not created by Col. Parker. Based upon what I know of RCA and 19, Adam is being more tightly managed than Elvis was. Most of the scenes of Elvis and screaming young girls were staged. And the "filmed from the waist up" myth was created by his manager -- the first 2 times Elvis was on the Ed Sullivan Show, his who body was shown. I know a lot about Elvis and there are some eerie similarities between Adam and Elvis -- mostly physical, birthday, and odd facts -- but they are very, very different people and have completely different backgrounds. If you are interested in Elvis, the best biography is the 2-volume set by Peter Guralnick: Elvis Presley, Last Train to Memphis and Careless Love. Similarly, aside from both being amazing vocalists and gay men, Adam has even very little in common with Freddy. ETA: Rosie O'D still has her place in Miami. Many celebrities do because of the tax laws. (FL or NV).
