I recognize that I really should just walk away from the computer and let this one go. So, I'm gonna let you continue, but.... My understanding of Asperger's is that it includes a lack of social awareness; the inability or lessened ability to pick up social cues thru facial expressions, vocal tone, sarcasm, body language, pitch, irony, etc. This may lead someone with AS to make inappropriate comments, expressing ideas/opinions without tact or a filter. Asperger's does not cause one to THINK like a bigot. Just to express bigoted thoughts freely without recognizing when to keep those thoughts to themselves. It was the thought process behind the "Christian" comment that alienated me. Hope JD gets all the advice he needs from Daughtry. Thanks for taking on this project, Chris! Bless you. As always I love me some Cassie posts. I worked in a school district as a secretary to the Guidance Counselor's, we had a Asperger's Syndrome student who was routinely in the office. He was given a "free pass" if you will to come to the office to speak with the counselors when he felt he could no longer stay in the classroom. After three years of getting to know him and his parents, he does NOT remind me of James Durbin in the least. This young man, while not being able to navigate his way through middle school social situations, really who can, NEVER was considered manipulative or (sorry) being a bigot or a liar. (He, James, indeed asked Adam for his advice.) For me, James is not given a free pass because of Asperger's............he has a personality disorder, commonly know as, "I do not know how to play nice" ;D

I am flying cross country and unfortunately look at JD Twitter feed -- I just hope Adam now writes him off now. #NOEXCUSES4BIGOTS ETA: If anyone thinks that James Durbins's behavior is representative of Asperger's, it is not. I have family members who have the same disorder and his erratic behavior has nothing to do with this disorder. I am tolerate of most things and work hard to respect other beliefs, but I have great difficulty with certain forms of Evangelical Christians who believe that I am a lesser person because I have not "accepted Jesus Christ". How can they forget that Jesus was Jewish? James is fast becoming the Jerry Falwell of the music industry. I AM a Christian, but my favorite belief, if we're allowed to have a favorite, is JUDGE NOT LEST YOU BE JUDGED. I would put Adam's moral code and conduct against anyone's Christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist. Talk is cheap no matter you're beliefs. Acting on your beliefs is a whole other matter.

The thing about social cues, and Aspergers, I get. I have had a few students with it and socially, when in actual contact with people, they did have trouble with social cues. But while working on independent things, like writing (as James is with Twitter) their thought processes were not only fine, but even better than most of the students in the class. Very smart and articulte when writing. I am of the opinion that not all of James' foot in mouth problems can be attributed to Aspergers.

www.adamofficial.com/ca/node/2012452CougA-dam: Monday, June 6, 2011 - 16:38 Kara DioGuardi mention Adam in her book.Have anyone read Kara DioGuardi's book " A Helluva High Note"? I finished Steven Tyler book and now start reading Kara's book. When she talked about becoming the fourth judge. She said she never watched the whole AI. She met the winners and wrote songs for them after. She wrote " They reroute some of the contestants from San Francisco to Los Angeles for the prelimainary auditions ( the ones prior to the auditions America sees on television). this is when she first met Adam Lambert. She woted " He had a great voice, but was doing this very dramatic thing with his eyes. The producers weren't sure about him, speculating that Cowell might not like him" Then she wrote " but I said No way, We've got to put him through".. and thank God they did.. she said. " Can you imagine a Season 8 without his rendition of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, Tears for Fears' Mad World, or Nina Simone's Feeling Good?......" They weren't going to put Adam through but they put the Pant on Fire guy on... and those crazy contestants... she also said this in her book And she knew her song “No Boundaries” sucked as she watched Adam Lambert and Kris Allen sing it. “Watching them sing that live was like watching a plane fall from the sky.”

Just like there are varying degrees of autism, there are varying degrees of Asberger's syndrome. I have a son who is ADHD and has trouble with social cues and can do, can be and say very inapparopriate things. Even after much discussion, impulsivity rules. In speaking to child psychologists to determine a course of action, we have found that what Durbin is displaying is not Asberger's but bi-polar behavior. He could very well been misdiagnosed since it is not an exact science due to the varying spectrum issues. He needs meds badly. I have many times given JD a walk. But he has crossed the line into territory that should not be discussed on twitter.

YES, a teacher with many years of experience, you said what I was trying to say, but, soooooooo much betterer! You also have a way of not being offensive, hope my video of "Being a Jerk" did not offend anyone. (Maybe I am shallow, okay, yes I am................NO WAY IN HELL will I EVER buy what James Durbin is selling!!!!!!!!!!) More money to spend on Adam ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

So I don't get it. Do all people with Aspergers have the same exact behaviors and symptoms? Is it classified as a disease where the symptoms do not vary? If we know a person or persons with Asp that do not act the same way as JD, does that mean that those persons or JD do not suffer from the same affliction? If a person does not act in a specific way, they do not have that disease? I'm bipolar, and I have never met a doctor or another person who is bipolar who was diagnosed with or has the same exact reactions, actions, symptoms, etc. as I do. Should I be able to find an exact description of the symptoms and if any of my symptoms vary from that exact description should I seek another diagnosis and different medication and treatment?
I'm an athiest, but did not find JD's comment on being Christian offensive at all. We all believe what we believe and just because we express approval and/or a connection with another person's beliefs does not mean that we condemn the beliefs or dis-beliefs of all others.
I love it here, but I'm really glad that I'm not on twitter. Perhaps if I was, I would get all of the "JD is just doing this for the attention, etc." thing. I'm not a fan or non fan of him, just plain don't get the dissection and analogy of his afflictions and personality based on a few sentences.
Anyway, just my two cents for the evening. Peace out.

I am not a Dr. but James doesn't seem bi-polar to me at all. Doesn't that invlove abrupt mood changes? I don't think anyone can make a diagnosis, like that, from afar. To me, James just seems, clueless, immature, and self absorbed.
