I'm guessing 2 things. 1st the idol's tour is starting and he wants attention. 2nd he's having problems with the record deal and again this is for attention. JMHO I think you're right. Just as we knew would happen, reality is slapping him in the face. As always, everyone knows everything before they have to deal with it. It's like sales training from a script, the only time you're in trouble is when the customer doesn't follow the script, whoops. The judges are partially responsible for JD's situation because they allowed him to live in a Never-Never land of outrageous expectations. In 10 years, how many alumni have made it big? Not many, and contestants should be reminded of this to encourage them to work hard, make decisions from both an artistic and business point of view, AND have a Plan B if/when things don't work out.... like being the interviewers on next year's finale Red Carpet.

I am reading a lot of unkind, mean remarks about a man (JD) who may or may not understand all that is happening to him. His remarks sound to me like a call for help. I'm glad he didn't come here to ask for it. I don't want to sound heartless, but if he was smart enough to trash talk Adam and reach out to all the metal dudes to be on his side, he is not that helpless or naive. The sympathy card is fine, and I have no wish to see JD fail, well, not more than enough to prove a point, but arrogance and snide remarks about other artists, Gaga, are unacceptable. I hope he does get help, but along with musical advice, he needs to be counseled on basic human interaction. I know plenty of people with autism related conditions from aspergers to apraxia and by the time they are JD's age, they have learned to manage it. James has been out in the world, performed with a band, has a girlfriend and a child, so I'm not buying the "don't be mean to poor James because he can't help it" story. JMHO I know I'm spamming and I'll try to stop, but no guarantees.

I really suspect that James is burying himself here. With his comments about Gaga and Adam, and now this twitter business, "his people" are probably taking a hard look. If he were a really extraordinary talent, it might be worth it to them to try to "handle" him. However, I will be surprised if he gets signed after all this. IMO

Adam in Russia.
Adam on twitter.
Adam and Sauli.
Just a few of the many reasons his parents must be so proud, and we are so fortunate to be fans.

JMHOI know I'm spamming and I'll try to stop, but no guarantees. ITA with this so hard, Aspen. Especially the bolded part. And I'm late for work, so I'll try to be quick. Yes, this situation (although funnier that shit – OMG, we were ROLLING); if I could order the evening on a DVD, I would and would watch it any time I needed a laugh. I do feel bad for James and had tons of second-hand embarrassment for him last night, but he proved he should not be allowed to run amok on social media. I've written many stories and Aspies and the training they take to "learn" social cues and they are also educated about seeking out when the are confused if certain things are acceptable or not. Most I know of would err on the side of caution. James entered into this willfully. He wanted to become a public persona. No one gets a free pass in life. What bothered me most about this whole exchange was the way it puts Adam between a rock and a hard place. When you extend a direct public invitation to someone when it's a tenuous situation, you take away their choice in the matter. It's controlling behavior that borders on bullying, IMO. I always get a little uncomfortable when I see these grandiose public marriage proposals. I feel for the one being proposed to because they've just been put in an impossible, potentially humiliating situation that was sprung on them out of the blue. I see those as an ego trip for the person proposing and the person being proposed to is blind-sided. Hey, sometimes it works out and it's beyond lovely, but other times. *cringe* James, whether it's his disability or his personality (after watching him all season, I tend to think it's the latter) – and also because I know of many Aspies who do not come off as buffoons in any way – can be a tad overbearing. He should have arranged this via many mutual channels. Extending this offer via Twitter was just awkward all the way around.

Re: Rhianna controversy I did not read last night's thread so I'm not sure if the comparison was made to Goodbye Earl by The Dixie Chicks-- similar subject matter and it was controversial initially. The video ended up winning several awards though. Idk if it was the humor or the fact that the singers were "down-home country girls" (this was before the G.W. Bush dis when they were still country radio darlings). I could only find their vid with a different band's vocal track (Me First and the Gimme Gimmies--kinda like it though Lyrics: Mary Ann and Wanda were the best of friends All through their high school days Both members of the 4H club Both active in the FFA After graduation Mary Ann went out lookin' for a bright new world Wanda looked all around this town and all she found was Earl Well it wasn't two weeks after she got married that Wanda started gettin' abused She put on dark glasses and long sleeve blouses And make-up to cover a bruise Well she finally got the nerve to file for divorce She let the law take it from there But Earl walked right through that restraining order And put her in intensive care Right away Mary Ann flew in from Atlanta On a red eye midnight flight She held Wanda's hand and they worked out a plan And it didn't take them long to decide That Earl had to die Goodbye, Earl Those black-eyed peas, They tasted alright to me, Earl You feelin' weak? Why don't you lay down and sleep Earl, ain't it dark Wrapped up in that tarp, Earl The cops came by to bring Earl in They searched the house high and low Then they tipped their hats and said 'thank You ladies if you hear from him let us know' Well the weeks went by and Spring turned to summer And summer faded into fall And it turns out he was a missing Person who nobody missed at all So the girls bought some land and a roadside stand Out on highway 109 They sell Tennessee ham and strawberry jam And they don't lose any sleep at night 'cause Earl had to die Goodnight, Earl We need a break Let's go out to the lake, Earl We'll pack a lunch And stuff you in the trunk, Earl Well is that all right Good, let's go for a ride Earl hey Well hey, hey, hey Aw, hey, hey, hey Well, hey, hey, hey

Look at the problems Chris Brown has had . I'ts all about the almighty $$$ and if they feel he might be marketable and has a fan base, he will get a record deal. WIll I be buying, HELL NO. NEgative news always gets attentions so maybe its markating strategy for atention since Only the top 3 are been in the news.
