So, for me, I am thrilled that Adam has gotten the measure of fame and recognition he has. I am thrilled that he will always have a full time career in performance that will provide a comfortable living and artistic satisfaction. I am grateful that he has achieved enough recognition that I can see him on talk shows and hear him on recordings -- even go to a concert when he doesn't live in my city. I am excited about the possibilities for the future. My point? I love my Adam, and I am over angsting about what others think about him. He seems to be very happy, he says he is living his dream. I am thrilled for him. Well....I want the whole f#$%ing RAINBOW for Adam! ;D Just kidding! LOL Seriously, I agree with you Cassie. I am not going to let what other people I know say get to me anymore. But I will call them out if they say homophobic comments in my presence and I will make it a point to make them feel very uncomfortable so they will know not to do it around me again!

*** Don't know if Vevo pays for hits, but it would be nice! Adam has had more than 41,518,000 hits on his videos there. Even at the huge amount of $.0017 per hit as reported by NPR, it's not a bad day's work. And they also picked up the tab for the filming of the concert DVD, so yeah, Vevo! If that's the case--- I'm gonna give more hits for sure!!! Actually, Adam tweeted the link the other day so that means he wants hits. That's good enough for me. Isn't Vevo partially owned by Sony?

... Part of me seems to think that Adam is just trying out the “rock star” persona and that he is much more of an entertainer. He has an amazing voice and a unique talent to inhabit a style or persona while he entertains us. There will be many iterations of Adam as time moves forward and I think all of us will be hanging from the tightrope that Adam walks ... 4EverAdam - Loved your post, especially the part quoted above - you said just what I've been thinking as I rewatched some of the GNT videos. I think Adam, who has been acting since he was very young, gets up on the stage and "acts" the part of a rock star. And he does a GREAT rock star - has it down pat! But that wonderful smile of his, I think, not only reflects how much he enjoys being on stage and performing for his fans, but also has an element of amusement at himself and his "rock-star" persona. I've been avoiding mentioning these thoughts on the threads - it somehow seems disloyal to say he's acting - so I was glad to see that you see to be thinking the same way I am. For me, this helps me to reconcile the difference I see between the on-stage Adam and the off-stage Adam. JMHO...

Just catching up with the thread: I think the highest I saw the Live DVD/CD go on Amazon presale last week when it first came out was #11 in all music (because on twitter a lot of people were hoping it would go to number 10 and get more visibility). I judge whether it's worth reacting to a piece based on where it is posted. This article being discussed is on a yahoo site which is basically like the examiner as far as I can tell. I.e. anybody can write an article about anything and post it in an instant. It also has no visibility, so that only people who are ever going to see it are Adam or AI fans googling his name. Therefore in my mind it's the lowest form of click bait, (even the gossip blog articles at least have random people browsing). The comment everyone was upset by is so over the top it seems to me to have been written by a troll purposely including the comments and words most likely to get a response from defensive Adam fans. So for myself, I don't bother commenting in these cases. On a public-facing news site? Yes, if I can comment with a disinterested, detached, unbiased tone ( nothing turns off a reader more quickly from your POV than a whiff of fanaticism IMHO). Of course, commenting because it feels right and good to you is awesome, that's just my personal take. Agree with everything, and especially the RED. I almost want to cringe when someone writes about their support of Adam with something like "I've been to 10 GlamNation concerts. . ." Even though that is a badge of distinction here on ATop, it's pretty OTT out there. Ruins the credibility. :

My friend, who I thought was coming around, asked if I was watching Idol this year. "Who knows, you might find somebody else to be crazy about." I give up. I love her, but she just will never get it. So glad I have you guys.

Thanks to all for the interesting and insightful posts. I love reading your thoughts. Great post Linda! Suzie Fierce, your name says it all. Slow night, great three days ahead, and I'm all caught up at work, so the time is fully mine. I may not be in the South Pacific with Adam, but I'm feeling pretty good sitting by the fire listening to it rain in California. Adam is such a complex person. Adam as an artist and as an entertainer is such a complex subject. In the end, I think that is partly what draws me to him and keeps me passionate in my fandom, something I have never been before with any other artist or entertainer. His voice and talent is so heroic, his challenges and opportunities so compelling. I am certainly never bored as his fan... overjoyed, yes; frustrated, yes; fascinated, absolutely; enthralled, very often; riled-up, occasionally; intrigued, most definitely; inspired, always. Sometimes his eyes, his face, his voice are an emotionally open fiery headress, hot and blazing; other times he pulls his graciousness smoothly all around him, cool and charming, wearing it evenly, without a hint of an emotional wrinkle... It's the mix of hot and cool, the yin and yang complexity of Adam at so many levels that fascinates me and pulls me in, that makes me feel all of the sides of myself and experience every age I've ever been, with all of its accompanying terrors and wonders. I'm twelve; I'm a hundred; I'm vulnerable; I'm strong; what I'm feeling is powerful; what I'm feeling aint that deep. I don't know what I want from Adam next. I know exactly what I want. I definitely don't know what I'll get. For me, that's all part of what makes Adam so compelling. I guess, like Sauli, I like surprises. And Adam is nothing if not predictably unpredictable.

Often when he does his tongue licky, licky, thang or the other gestures that are stereotypical rock star moves, he ends with his grin, blows kisses to the audience, and then waves goodbye by wiggling just his fingers ala Red Skelton's "may God bless" (not very rock star). That's one of the reasons I can go with the flow on some of that stuff--I'm not generally fond of some of it. But he knows he is being ridiculous, and he does it so well. Now, a new fan or observer might not get that right away until they have watched as many videos as we have. 8-)
