rihannsu, regarding your post on page 17, I usually do not post a reply when I see negative comments, my bad. Even though it sometimes an uphill battle, it all comes down to "Baby Steps", I will remember your words of encouragement.
“Some people confuse acceptance with apathy, but there's all the difference in the world. Apathy fails to distinguish between what can and what cannot be helped; acceptance makes that distinction. Apathy paralyzes the will-to-action; acceptance frees it by relieving it of impossible burdens.” rashaski

Uh... yeah, I'm sure you do. Well, at MY house, I've got an extra bed, and every night I set an extra place setting at the table, in case he stops over for dinner. So there! Yeah but at MY house I have an extra bed, an extra place setting, the nearby Whole Foods flagship store, and my freezer is always stocked with ice cream. ♫ ... and I don't know why she swallowed the fly ... ♫ I've been out listening to music but want to put my name in the runnning. I have an extra king size bed, stocked refrig, chianti and mint choc chip ice cream ready for the taking, I live across the street from La De Dah, where the drag shows go on until 4am, and, last but not least, my apartment is above Leather Masters on Applerouth Lane. Not familiar with them? Manufacturer of Custom: Leather, Fantasy, Costumes, Masks, Fetish & BDSM Accessories www.leathermaster.comIf only I could figure out where to send their invitations.

Hahaha look at Finland on this Google trends chart... www.google.com/trends?q=adam+lambert,+kris+allen,+carrie+underwood,+,+david+cook,+kelly+clarkson&ctab=0&geo=all&date=mtd&sort=0 OMG that's so fascinating! And kinda wild that of Adam-related searches, those from U.S. are only 10th down, after a number of other countries. And Iran and Morocco #2 and #3 in search volume after Finland? Wow. Interesting to compare to the other Idol peeps. David Cook seems to have the most international interest, but even for him, the U.S. is 4th on the list. And yay for Hungary!!!! They love Adam quite a bit... 8-)

... Part of me seems to think that Adam is just trying out the “rock star” persona and that he is much more of an entertainer. He has an amazing voice and a unique talent to inhabit a style or persona while he entertains us. There will be many iterations of Adam as time moves forward and I think all of us will be hanging from the tightrope that Adam walks ... 4EverAdam - Loved your post, especially the part quoted above - you said just what I've been thinking as I rewatched some of the GNT videos. I think Adam, who has been acting since he was very young, gets up on the stage and "acts" the part of a rock star. And he does a GREAT rock star - has it down pat! But that wonderful smile of his, I think, not only reflects how much he enjoys being on stage and performing for his fans, but also has an element of amusement at himself and his "rock-star" persona. I've been avoiding mentioning these thoughts on the threads - it somehow seems disloyal to say he's acting - so I was glad to see that you see to be thinking the same way I am. For me, this helps me to reconcile the difference I see between the on-stage Adam and the off-stage Adam. JMHO... Just popping in quickly from lurkdom (MIL in town) to say I totally agree with this. I've probably blathered on about it here before, so I'll refrain from doing so again, but I've always loved this tongue-in-cheek element of Adam's performances--that, as he says in that wonderful last line of the Rolling Stone article, "I'm only playing." (When I reread that profile I'm increasingly impressed by it, and the sensitivities of the author.) "I love that I get to play dress up for a living, now," Adam says with a boyish grin, and I love that that shows that he doesn't take himself, or pop, too seriously, but takes the fun of it just seriously enough. Pop is a performance, after all. It's supposed to be "fake" in that it's supposed to offer, sometimes, an escape from reality. That's what can be magical about it. (At other times, of course, it tells the story of real life, and Adam is good at that too.) ETA--also, Linda, if you're still around, loved reading your review of Robyn last night, as we had to take off before I could hear it in person. Little blond chick's a lot of fun, kiddos. And I too dreamed of seeing that crowd at an Adam concert (I think it would make our boy very happy. Well, come to Austin, Adam, and we'll see what we can do.)

If they put the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland of all places why not an Adam shrine in Indianapolis? Wives could go there while the husbands go to Bloomington to worship Bobby Knight - unless he finally pissed the entire state off enough by his antics that they banned any memories of his tenure. Trust me it still wouldn't beat Leather Masters, the place is a treasure trove for the daring and debauched. Not really but I couldn't think of another D word.

Don't you think "they" would have wondered what caused it?

I've got $5 around here somewhere- I'll make the first donation. And don't even get me started on Bobby Knight. I'm from Michigan to begin with, so I've been able to avoid the Kool-Aid. Tom Izzo is another story, however. But I have no illusions of being able to compete with Leather Masters.

I am always thankful when a negative comment or a negative article has resulted in a counterbalancing comment. It is much harder to read something that is unfair and to find it has gone unchallenged. I think, if an offsetting comment is written, it not so much helps change the mind of the original poster, but it does help give those interested readers who have not yet completely made up their mind to get a different and more balanced perspective. And at times, I have changed my own mind on things, we are all finding that we learn from each other.
So while I agree that we should take the importance of an article into consideration, I certainly think that we should not leave nonsense out there completely uncontested. Some people will always find any article and read it.
Having said that, it very quickly starts to be irritating when it looks like a pile-on. You can't "win" an argument and you certainly can't win by mass domination. Readers will make up their own mind about what they agree with and what they don't. Seeing a whole fan community swarm in for mind control is totally counter-productive, imo.
But one or two comments - I have always found to be grateful for.
