Eh, I don't like this mix. She cut out the best parts of Adam's (& left in my least favorite verse of his). But that's just me... I was kind of thinking the same thing. But I think, she was trying to work around using those parts of Adam's performance, where the off-putting and loud background singers cut into the enjoyment of Adam's performance. But yes, it does cut out some of the best parts. I had previously read on yahoo.com on how much Alisan's performance had made her stumble, before I ever got a chance to listen to it, so I was prepared to not like it. I have to say, she is doing it more justice, than I thought she would be able to. But I do agree, that this was not the best song choice for her. One of the things I don't like about the voice, is that the artists don't control the song selection.

I'm sure it is not forgotten. I certainly know what Auschwitz was, but I have never heard or seen the name Oświęcim. I'd venture to guess that a vast majority of Americans are not familiar with Oświęcim but are with it's German name, Auschwitz. I don't think I could handle this concert. for the reason that horror/death leaves behind a flavor for me. There is a beautiful church in Santa Fe and I love the old mission churches but when I walked in the place had a feel that turned my stomach. It felt black and swirly. There is a bar near us where they serve the fried fish that DH likes. When I walked in again I felt the same emotions. In the case of the church the local indigenous population was worked to death to build it and were forbidden to use it. The bar was the scene of a fight that resulted in two deaths. So having said that perhaps the Concert can be a start to clean the aura but I'm not sure that can ever happen So you all "thought" I was a little crazy now you know.... You are not crazy at all, grandduchesspf, there are a lot of people like that, even here on Atop, who are very sensitive to seeing or feeling energies, they can sometimes even feel sick if in a place with a lot of horrible history...so don't you worry, nothing crazy about you at all..

No, Grandduchess, you aren't crazy. Some people are very sensitive to lingering presences. We know how extremely conscious Brian, Roger and Adam are. I cannot imagine they would do a concert in Auschwitz if they didn't have strong feelings that perhaps some light and joy would be welcomed. If any place could use a hefty dose of joy, Auschwitz would be one IMO. The point would be not to try to erase the fact that many atrocities were committed there, but that in life's cycles, the human spirit can go on. Yes - the human spirit can go on, beauty can prevail over horror, and evil will not triumph in the end.

I've been googling but I don't find any indication of an actual Macy's store in Australia. I found reference to a shipping program to Australia that has now ended and comments that the Myer's store was reminiscent of Macy's but no store. That link you posted was about a Christmas attraction that may have been replicating the Macy's Christmas window displays in New York. I don't think it was for an actual store. I wouldn't make a special trip if I were you. Do you know anyone in the city you could check with to see if there is an actual Macy's store there?

Yesterday I started to feel irrationally guilty for even bringing the topic.

Yesterday I started to feel irrationally guilty for even bringing the topic. But it’s not your fault, none of it, so don’t take on the guilt. Be happy that you and others wish to change the feelings with music bringing people together in love and celebration….

Thank you very much, for trying to help me in this. And above all I am grateful to you for pointing me this, that I understand it all wrong. I feel sad and very silly now, everyone here saw it, and no one pointed earlier to me, to save me the embarrassment, only you gave me a hand in this. Now I'm confused in all this, what am I doing here? I am a joke to everyone. I am very blinding ... I feel sad, ashamed and very mad at itself. I also think that Australia does not have a Macy's store, you can buy things on-line. rihannsu, thank you again, really appreciate it, bless your heart. Good night.
