OT I just wanted to share my feelings about Amy Winehouse with you.NOT related to Adam AT ALL. NOT implying anything. If it's not appropriate mods can delete it. Amy was supposed to have a few concerts in Europe for those of you who don't know. She was supposed to appear here in Greece also yesterday. However she canceled all her appearances due to her drunk and drugs problems again ,although she's recently got out of a clinic. I feel so so sad about this woman. To me she's a genius. Voice, melody, lyrics, I simply cannot compare her with anyone. The best album of the decade IMO. This is her entrance and her "performance" in Belgrade, Serbia. Watching this total wreck on stage just had me in tears. www.dailymotion.com/video/xjecsc_amy-winehouse-live-in-serbia-belgrade-18-06-2011_musicIt's heartbreaking and frustrating to watch performers throw their lives and careers away like this. Whitney Houston is another one who is a sad shell of her former self. In the acting field, Lindsay Lohan has become a punchline for comedians when at one time she was a beautiful, talented young actress. I loved her in Mean Girls. I always want to say to these people: Is it worth it? Are the drugs and alcohol really so enticing that they're worth ruining everything you've worked for? Most people would kill for the opportunities these people have. I think Adam has his priorities straight so he will not get caught up in anything like this. I hope so, anyway. We've seen it happen so often that I'm not sure anyone is safe. Well he also has a strong support system of friends and family around him which someone like, say, Lindsay Lohan doesn't have. her family is super fucked up. Plus he seems to have gotten alot of his ya ya's out earlier. He has the advantage of coming into this witha few years of perspective behind him about the biz and a whole lot of maturity then a lot of these other ppl. Here's hopin!

It is kind of amazing that a song he didn't even sing on the show, made it this high and has stayed for 2 days. Weird, but I like it! Chunkey, I agree! Adam's age and his experience of living in Hollywood will be assets in dealing with all the fame trappings. His support system is amazing. Ya, big asset is he doesn't have Lohan's parents or Whitney's husband.

We've seen it happen so often that I'm not sure anyone is safe. Certainly, it is sad when this happens with talented people we admire, but there are also many that handle it just fine (maybe a little flakey - e.g. Johnny Depp) but not spriraling into drugs and alcohol. To counter the Lindsey Lohans, there is Justin Timberlake - Disney Kid, Boy Band, now actor - seems to have his head on straight.

Adam seems to have been able to keep his life balanced and things in perspectivie inspite of the craziness of the last 2 years. I think if all this had happened when he was 19-20 just figuring things out it would have been harder for him to maintain balance. I really don't worry that he will fall apart.

As Cassie said, things are pretty good in the Adam land. The Levine "controversy" and the few red carpet interviews were actually the first information to the public that Adam has an album coming out. (Also, I personally think that what was now filmed for MTV was some kind of a behind-the-scenes making-of stuff for the promo) So.. what do you think, how may months before the release promo usually starts? First single a couple on months previous, and the hyper cycle maybe two weeks before the album drop? Now is his time to fly without the speed from the American Idol sling that catapulted him to the public knowledge in the first place. That makes his first single super important, because the casual buyer needs the recognition for making the purchase. Remembering an artist from AI is enough for recognition even without a radio hit, but now, two years later, Adam is in the same line competing for the radio song recognition as the other artists. In the best case scenario for his first single would be a brain killer and an ear worm in the level of "Hey Soul Sister" It's probable that Adam chooses (and I believe that it still will be Adam that makes the final decision) this time something that it's too sexual, or too rock, or too controversial for radio to dismiss it. What comes after that, is a whole other thing. But mostly, it needs to be really good and really catchy. I cant wait for the radio ads/spins counting to begin, it's my favorite pastime

Just watched the Slezak and Cantiello interviews from Nokia, NYC and this was on the same You Tube page. I think it's on topic, because of Levine's statement about Adam's fans. This is one of the funniest things ever done about the Glamberts, IMO! youtu.be/Hyy_1om0A6Q And what about that article after Maxidrome about the "thugberts" ? Remember that one? It would take me forever to find it (sorry, tech challenged ). That was really funny too. Here it is bit.ly/mNWhRY Ha! Hope that is right, used Google (duh!)

Morning Guys! Just wanted to Add to the Amy topic! My Husby and I saw her back in 2007 before she really hit big at Lollapalooza, and she ended up ODing after that show. I also read that she has had issues with drugs and drinking since 2005. I really do feel bad for her, and I wish she could get the real help she needs, and stay clean. Her one album Back to Black was amazing, but that's all she has. ( she only released Frank in 2003 b4 back to black). She is truly talented, and I love Back to Black, but Drugs, and Drinking have taken over her life, and she seems to not be able to control it. :( Im so happy Adam has the support system he does tho! oh and.... Happy Birthday glamagal2 and jekku!!!!!!!

Slezak: "[paraphrased] The Glamberts are going to scrape his (Durbin's) skin off the stage to make a voodoo doll?" ;D
