First of all, a very belated THANK YOU to everyone who wished me good birthday wishes a couple of days ago, and Linda--it was a very nice day for my birthday and we went out for a lovely dinner (after a day spent with utility hook-ups and putting furniture together). Yesterday it dropped 18 degrees and began to rain.
Grandduchess -- never say never to BM! We can do a baby BM here in Portland if you come to visit! Think of my backyard as the playa!
To all, I am just getting online for the first time in about 5 days--and I feel really out of the loop! I completely missed the past two concerts due to moving, and I am finally online once again as of today (thanks to the cool CenturyLink guy who is a fellow Tour de France fan--Alpe du Huez!). I am living in a house full of boxes, as it took the movers two trips from Seattle to get all the stuff to Portland. There are a few things that didn't make it and a couple things that need to go back--they brought a light fixture for my old house and one of the smoke alarms I had removed to put in a new battery, lol). I needed to move back to be closer to my family (and just wanted to come home) and brought along our 91 year old family friend who has moderate Alzheimers. My family looked after her for the week-end, and then I have been working on getting her settled into this new place this week. Not an easy feat, and last night she was thumping around from about 11pm to 1pm trying to put things away and talking loudly to the cats. I woke up and made her go to bed. Oof! This week-end will finally be more relaxing unpacking time with wine included to help move the process along. Happy to be back in Portland--I am proud to help keep Portland weird!
