SusieFierce: "They may be utilizing a different strategy entirely. I just don't happen to get it. Throughout Idol, Adam went online to find out what people were saying (something that took GUTS on his part, as we're all familiar with the level of hate that exists). He has always been extremely committed to reading the market – from all sides of the industry. This is why his current silence confuses me."
I am 90% sure the "they" is Adam. I believe that Adam decided that he needed to pull back from events and performing and focus on his album/songwriting. Adam is the one who pushed the date back, he is the one who refused to record while touring, and according to RCA Ed, Adam is the one who does not want to do TV appearances and events. I really think this is 100% Adam's choice.
My theory: It is his way to get back to what is "real" vs. playing a role -- being on stage.

I thought she was getting married in northern CA? On June 19th she tweeted that she was getting married in two months from that day, so August 19th I guess. And a long while back her tweets indicated she was looking at venues in Northern CA Wine Country. My neck of the woods. I'm polishing my stalking shoes as we speak... (Just kidding, LOL!) Does anyone know anything about her fiance', if he is a fellow dancer or some other type of artist ?

Morning peeps..
I just peeked at MJ's and the 2nd thread down I read was, the winner from The Voice sings National Anthem at the Dodger Field... this got me thinking.
I think we would never going to hear Adam singing NA in a game. This gig's almost like THE GIG for every reality TV's winner/alumn. IMHO Adam & management want to stay away of this gig as much as they can. And.... as much as I dream the country would hear his beautiful voice singing NA, now I can accept that we might never hear him sing NA in a world champion game final or what ever. :-/
going back to first page to read the news thread

Tee hee -- that thread has the wrong National Anthem performance video posted! I am sure someday Adam will sing the NA at a major sports event. I think he is too big a star to sing it at a random Dodgers game. Not big enough for the Superbowl. And San Diego hasn't had a team in a championship final for the past couple of years. My prediction -- if San Diego makes the World Series, of NFL playoffs, and Adam is available, he'll do a hometown SSB.

IMO, MINOR contact with his large and loyal customer base is an integral part of a marketing strategy... They may be utilizing a different strategy entirely. I just don't happen to get it. Throughout Idol, Adam went online to find out what people were saying (something that took GUTS on his part, as we're all familiar with the level of hate that exists). He has always been extremely committed to reading the market – from all sides of the industry. This is why his current silence confuses me. But I think he HAS been having minor contact with the fans, although we may have different definitions of minor. We've seen him playing back and forth with some of his collaborators on twitter. He tweeted a random fan. He's RT'd Sauli's sunset pic and wished us a happy 4th. Released a couple of in-studio pics. Sent us a strange 3D pic to go cross eyed over. Celebrated the gay marriage vote in New York. Promoted Nikka Costa. And I agree with mys*&@^#r, that when his closest friends or Sauli tweet something, he knows about it and is OK with it. We've gotten some great stuff that way lately, even if we can't always figure out what it means (I'm looking at you Alisan Porter). No- it's not as personal or as sustained as we're used to, but it's not like he's initiated complete radio silence.

ITA -- when it is time to start promoting his new album -- he will be back to doing a lot of interviews and promotion -- and we'll just get sick of seeing him.

Bama is ALL about college football and has no pro team. My fave pro team is San Diego because I love the QB, who went to the same high school as my girls. That will be my dream place for Adam to sing the SSB!

Just ask anybody in the state of Alabama where college football is a 12 month sport - football season and recruiting season.
