Hey Guys! Sorry to be Off Topic. I was just wondering for those that received an email from ALF about renewal, If it sent you to a direct link with new information? For me it sent me to a sold out Lifetime Sub + Calender page, with no other info on a renewal. Please PM me your thoughts. Thanks  Oh, and Happy Birthday to those that i have missed. I am still recovering from my birthday party on Friday lol. I rec'd my 2 emails yesterday. For me, it is my Glam package that is expiring and the link from the email takes me to just the ALF store page for the Glam Package. THe listing and photo are exactly the same as last year and is the stuff I received last time. There is NO "Renewal" package that I can find. I'm going to wait a while and see if they come up with something new - otherwise, I will most likely downgrade to the Glitter package since I don't need another identical t-shirt and welcome letter. If I look at my profile on ALF, it shows 2 "memberships". My Glam membership which expires 9/1/2011 and the calendar "membership" (huh?) that expires 9/2/2011. The first e-mail I received yesterday did take me to the renewal page:

This album is different in that is has a more serious tone. There is definitely fun, upbeat music on there too. This album has a thread of honesty in that it is real and personal. On this album I let people in further. It is an autobiographical album that portrays my dreams and aspirations. There are also some songs that deal with heartache and love. Whereas my old album was fun, campy, and over the top, this album is more contemporary and honest. The last album was more of a fantasy and this album is a search for my identity.Yay! So when the #1 was quickly recorded and Adam didn't dare to leave any stone turned, with #2 we'll get more co-writes and songs that touch personal issues, not forgetting those fun radio friendly tunes! And LOL for them throwing the boyfriend question in between and then making it the main headline ;D

Yes, Adam has always said it, but there still seems to be a large group out there who just haven't understood that! You still see comments online (on articles, youtubes, etc) that he was "hiding" and "in the closet" during Idol. It may be a repeat for us, but if it gets the basic info out to these folks, I am all for repeating this again. : : : Haters will hear and see what they want to hear and see and logic rarely is part of the equation. Worrying about convincing them otherwise is pointless. And EVEN IF he could give interviews and chose not to talk about it, I wonder if he would have primarily because he didn't want to place himself in the poster boy category in the context of the competition. (Just like he resisted attempts to be pigeonholed in "rocker," "bad boy," "Emo dude," so he kept flipping his looks and personas for each performance). Even if he held a press conference (as if he could) to announce to the world he was gay, he would then cast himself as an archetype, which seemed to be contrary to his entire approach to the competition – to show his range and chameleon-like abilities. He wanted to compete on a skill and ability level, I mean, he had to fight for time to squeeze in thanks to Ricky Minor and Michael Orland, much less a random declaration about his personal life that is totally irrelevant to the competition and no one's business. (But of course, everyone thinks they're entitled to this information and some gay bloggers – ahem, Perez – are as bad as anyone.) Someone please refresh my memory and tell me when Matt G., Allison, Scott M. or Scotty McCreery ever announced that they were straight? (We'll operate under a surface assumption that it was implied with those who were/are married, but still that's not set in stone either, as we all know  ) Adam was out to all the contestants and crew from the very beginning; that's been well established. For anyone to expect him to take out an ad in Variety to announce his sexuality when he was immersed in an intense competition, that would prove to change the entire trajectory of his life, is just more than a little ridiculous. I think NBC is taking that approach because they've gotten quite a bit of mileage from their out "The Voice" contestants, which is great, but they are still then getting labeled with the prefix, "Out Gay Singer ..." I mean, really, that is so insane. I cannot imagine being introduced in a professional capacity as Straight, Unmarried Writer ... like what? Just another example of "being branded enough". :-/ |

LOL at the timing of the article though. People at Twitter figured from that guy of Tasty Little Dish fame account that A & S could be near the City Hall in NY.
