And that's what the OUT interviewer did, in due moderation, asking Adam about his personal life, his feelings about Idol and it's sketchy record on gay-friendliness, about his feelings about the gay community, about his fans and his lack of a strong following among gay men. All these were pretty tough questions and he answered all of them honestly and openly and didn't complain at all. That's not what Hicklin's blindside was. Hicklin blindsided Adam with something totally off the record with no warning and no relevance to who Adam is as a public figure. You know what I hated about that whole gate almost more than Dicklin's letter? The fact that they took Adam's thoughtful, personal, honest answers from a LENGTHY and GOOD interview and cut it down to bullshit. Remember the whole original interview that was published online as opposed to the short crap that made it into the printed mag? (I AM thinking of the correct interview, right? Need to go back and find that online version.) Anyway, I was REALLY enraged by that, too...

I wish I had the eloquence of words as I wanted to call him out with a letter but felt it wouldn't have made the point without sounding childish. However many of you here are able to state my feelings so well I am satisfied he's getting the message >:(

Only on p.4, but have to stop and say to MARIEP: Tinafea has a beautiful (NOT creepy!) comforter that she had made--Anthro should maybe ask her for info? Thanks! We got it figured out on twitter with the help of sandysva. Looks like she found a site to use.

This is to my Finnish friends here and totally and ridiculously OT. Someone here said that Hungarian and Finnish are similar. When I was a little girl, my Hungarian Grandma taught me Hungarian folk songs. Unfortunately, I learned to sing them phonetically and did not learn the language. So. How do you say "my mother" in Finnish/Hungarian? One of her favorites went "eh da shunyam, nem to dukal hulot nee.................." She told me that it was a song to sing to your mother. Another song was about a girl who fell off a tree. It went Marishka, Marishka fell ma soot de fada, le shet a fa dul keet dut kez a laba......... Of course I'm spelling this stuff phonetically also. If I'm totally crazy, please ignore me, but I've been singing these songs around the house all day. I'm sure Grandma is smiling down on me even if I don't know what the hell I'm saying. ;D If nothing else, this stuff sounds like I'm from another planet. Planet Fierce???????????? sugaree in Finnish my mother is minun äitini or just äitini. Maybe NoAngel knows my mother in Hungarian. mother = äitiHope you find this answer here. Hi Sugaree! I found your post at the end of yesterday's thread. The Hungarian word for mother is "anya". My mother = anyám My Hungarian is very limited because I began speaking English at 4 when we came to the U.S., and I never learned to write the language. But from sounding out what you've written, I believe the first folk song might be: "édes anyám, nem tudok aludni..." (sweet mother, I can't sleep...) The second one: "Mariska, Mariska, felmászott egy fára; leesett a fáról, kitört kezét, lábát..." (Mariska, Mariska climbed up a tree; she fell out of the tree, broke her hands and legs) LOL, poor girl! As for the Finnish/Hungarian connection, the languages are in the same family, but have very few common words. It's more a case of having commonalities in grammatical structure and inflection. It seems that in both languages, the first syllable is always the one stressed. Which is probably why the ~sound of Finnish feels so familiar to me. Here's an article about that: www.histdoc.net/sounds/hungary.htmlLOL at this: "A Finnish speaker, even though he does not understand Hungarian, or vice versa, a Hungarian speaker with no knowledge about Finnish, is charmed by the fact that both in Hungarian and in Finnish the vowels and consonants are evenly distributed." :D Such nice, orderly languages!

Nice discussion guys I wish we could get rid of labels and just say human sexuality is fluid and we all fall on a spectrum from gay to straight. It'd make life easier without all the constant hassles of labels and the stigma that comes from them; as well as the confusion. Moreover I agree with points made by murly and NoAngel homophobia and misogyny come hand in hand due to patriarchal, hetero-normative, sociocultural/societal enculturation.
NoAngel Native American tribes had berdache or two-spirits who were considered normal and part of theri society and I believe certain Polynesian cultures today practice homosexuality.
