He speaks English in a few of the Tutka videos, for a short time. I didn't save any of them but maybe someone who did can find one for you, murly. ETA: Found one! Murly if you've never watched one, this one is pretty adorable. He speaks English at 8:18 but not sure if it's a fair sample since he is being very silly and accepting his Oscar! He and Katri are so cute together. I hope they can continue their Tutka shows. Aw, how cute was that? I know! 13:00 minutes of cuteness between these 2 and not understanding anymore than 10 words! LOL! It's their energy and the obvious fun we are observing!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the posts this morning by both Q3 about the excessive worrying and by emmuzka about Adam's relationships. I'm flabbergasted that fans feel free to weigh in on Adam's relationships and specifically their comfort level with whether he or his boyfriend are "too gay." By that I presume they mean too effeminate. I have even heard of gay men who reject Adam because he is too effeminate and flamboyant by some measures. Adam has said he is comfortable having and displaying a masculine and a feminine side and when he was younger even referred to himself as "the son and the daughter" of one of his influences (can't remember which). I think understanding this is an opportunity for personal growth for those of us who haven't been exposed to it before. Being "openly gay" doesn't mean stomping around in plaid and chinos looking and acting like Norman Schwartzkopf, except you happen to like to have sex with dudes. A fan who claims to be OK with Adam's sexuality as long as he doesn't display it is just kidding themselves. As to the cause of some of the remarks that emmuzka mentions, I think there is just plain jealousy involved. That Adam has a part of his life that we straight lady fans can't be involved in and can never be a part of. So there's that ... plus I think deeper sexual revulsion that some people still feel about gay sex. Adam has said he is a top guy which means some of that contempt will always coalesce around Adam's boyfriend. Preach it, Adam (at 3:45) Yay Juniemoon! Thanks for posting this vid for us again---I LOVE IT. I've avoided commenting specifically on the discussion last night and this morning, cause I just get depressed and would sound too grumpy and besides basically everything important has already been said, and said well... But the bit of your commentary, juniemoon, that I bolded above made me think, and I just want to say...I think it's important to acknowledge that there are still certain kinds of homophobia present within the fandom as well as outside of it...and frequently this is totally well-meaning, unconscious, sort of "benign" homophobia (if such a thing can exist) that is due really to lack of exposure, and to the pervasiveness of cultural norms that cling to us despite all our best and increasingly successful efforts to shed them. I'm talking not just about the way we discuss Adam's various partners (which I'll never get, for countless reasons) but also the kind of proud way in which the fandom likes to talk about Adam as an "alpha-male," (a term I'll never really understand, especially when it's applied to humans), or, as NoAngel mentioned yesterday, discussions of Adam's masculine and feminine looks. And like NoAngel said, maybe some of this squicks me the wrong way but is real just about what each individual finds attractive, and hey, that can be a wide range and there's nothing wrong with that. And sometimes (I suspect last night was one of those times) it's just a question of someone simply not quite expressing themselves right. But I also think it's important for us to recognize the role those hard-driven cultural norms play in our reaction to these things, and, without calling out individuals, to call a spade a spade and recognize that homophobia (and, as several people have said, misogyny, too) plays a big roll in these kinds of conversations, and not shy away from that word, when it is accurate. Cause after all, that's how progress happens. Perhaps more importantly, I feel we as a fandom have been entirely remiss--Taylor is easily the most ignored dancer (he had a brief moment of glory when he saved Adam from that ass-hat paparazzo but then faded back into obscurity). But having re-watched the above vid, I feel we should really give credit where credit is due: That boy is ROCKING combat boots, high-glitter tights, shiny spandex shorts, a lace-spandex top, and a jabot (google just taught me that word for the old-fashioned lacey women's cravat thing that he's workin' round his neck), and he looks like he was born in that outfit. RESPECT.

You can run but you can’t hide, so life as you know it may be coming to an end. My two cents about a few things: I met Brad when I was in CA a few months ago strictly by accident. It’s hard for me to imagine today’s Adam and Brad together but he is a very nice, funny, sarcastic but gentle soul. The man he ends up with will be a lucky one. In case you are wondering, we did not discuss Adam nor did I even mention that I was a fan. I think Sauli is a great addition to Adam’s life. My sister was married to another musician, nicest guy in the world, but totally inept and uninterested in social interaction. It made it difficult for her since her job required her to attend functions where mixing and schmoozing were the goal. He did his best, but he was uncomfortable and consequently she was uncomfortable for him. They went their separate ways but still talk a few times a week. Love is great, but fitting in and enhancing one another’s lives in the real world is very important. I caught up on the end of yesterday’s thread and it was interesting. There is still a lot of discomfort with a flamboyant gay in the workplace, but there is also discomfort with the loudmouthed jock. My wife, sweet but can be totally passive aggressive when she chooses, once told a macho VP his sports hero was gay (not true but the hero was someone she had worked with on a project and knew he would approve of her reasoning) after he had systematically belittled and harassed a co-worker who was gay. You know, little digs that are supposed to be funny but are anything but. Think Joan Rivers at her ultimate bitchiness. The VP was crushed and disillusioned and my wife smiled for weeks. She has become vert outspoken since that incident and never hesitates to speak out when anyone is being bullied. She goes to the perpetrator first, nicely but clearly, and if it doesn’t work, informs him/her there will be a complaint filed. It’s amazing what an intervention can do. Well, I’ve been alone for 3 days so you all must bear the brunt of my lack of companionship. It will save my wife having to listen to me when she gets back. Time to check the weather to make sure I’m not going to get blown into the Atlantic.

I don't see it. As a matter of fact, until the pics of Adam and Brad came out, I was not convinced he was gay. Having had my most influential music period during the 70s, I saw rock star flamboyance. That article about the androgynous rock stars that someone posted last week, kind of says it all for me. To me, Steven Tyler, appears more gay. My goodness, Tyler looks like he shops at Charlotte Russe! ;D In my world, everything about Adam equaled Rock Star! If that damn Grunge period out of Seattle hadn't happened, I'll bet more people would not even think twice about Adam's appearance. And his stage dancing has never been gay to me. Mick Jagger prancing on stage around goes way beyond .... I guess effeminate would be a better characterization, mixed in with a good dose of pure sensuality and no fear when it comes to swinging those hips. There is also the deep masculine that Adam portrays as well. He is a well-balanced individual who embraces the feminine and masculine, but who also in my eyes, anyway, from the beginning is clearly gay. Then again, I think MWP expresses this very well right here: "I feel we should really give credit where credit is due: That boy is ROCKING combat boots, high-glitter tights, shiny spandex shorts, a lace-spandex top, and a jabot (google just taught me that word for the old-fashioned lacey women's cravat thing that he's workin' round his neck), and he looks like he was born in that outfit. RESPECT."

this comment has finally brought me out of lurkdom.
Jealousy means that in some way you think that you have a shot with Adam, romantically, which as Adam said "unless you've got surprise under that skirt it ain't happening". You "share" Adam with every other fan he has and that's as much as we're ever going to have from Adam, regardless of who he's dating.
Now my opinion on the dating habits of AFL:
As people grow and develope their tastes in romantic partners usually changes as well. The things we are willing to accept or desire at 20 aren't even remotely similar to what we accept and desire at 29. Sometimes people are lucky to find someone who can grow and change with them but most of the time as we evolve as people, so do our relationships.
Based on what my inexpert opinion the relationships have all served very specific and useful purposes in Adam's life:
Brad was Adam's first love. They discovered love together. they had fun and learned a lot. enough, it seems that they were able to move forward and forge a friendship more meaningful to them perhaps than their romantic relationship did. This was the groundwork for Adam to be able to love openly and fully.
Drake, from what I saw was a transitional relationship. Adam's life was in transition and Drake provided the stability and familiarity he probably needed at that time. They've remained friends but I've never seen evidence or heard Adam speak of Drake as if he were someone more than a short term boyfriend whom he found he cared more for as a friend than a lover.
Sauli is very together in his own right. They are on equal footing. Sauli has fame in his own right and knows what Adam is going through. He doesn't seem to need coddling or extra assurances from Adam and vice versa. This is what makes this relationship probably more mature and stable than his previous relationships. There isn't an imbalance of power here.
I see all three, Brad, Drake and Sauli, more as an evolution of the same type of man which Adam is attracted too: fun, creative, sensitive, beautiful, and intelligent. Adam has good taste in men.

Just wanted to share an e-mail my Mom sent me. Pretty damn funny.
In pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of 'cocktails', 'highballs' and just a good old-fashioned 'stiff drink'. Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO.
Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
