I am not angsting about the release dates or plans for either the single or the album. Yes, I wish I had new Adam music NOW! But, I have wished that for the past eight months, and made it thru. Juniemoon's essay about Elvis compromising his artistry to grind out three crap movies and albums a year to satisfy the fans put things in perspective for me. I do NOT want Adam doing Beach Party Bingo type movies and music. Everything we have heard about the work Adam has been doing has been glowingly positive. No indication that we don't have a release date yet because Adam doesn't have a good product. And, if Outlaws of Love is indicative of what Adam is creating, the album is gonna be awesome. Black Friday, Green Thursday, Blue Monday, Purple-polka-dotted Saturday..... I know nothing about how that works. Heck, I couldn't even sell Girl Scout cookies as a child. I have absolutely no expertise in marketing --- music or anything else. But, RCA and Adam's management company do. They have all kinds of experts, experience, data, information and connections that they employ. I'd much prefer to trust them than to go with the dictates of fans regarding how, when, and where to release new music from Adam. Adam is a smart businessman. I like that he is a perfectionist. I like that he is at a point in his career that he is being treated with respect and allowed to create his art without pressure and deadlines from the other businessmen and women. It's another indication of their confidence in Adam. But, perfectionist or not, Adam certainly knows the importance of release dates and marketing. Yes, the DVD and the Acoustic CD were delayed until Adam was satisfied with the results. That is a different scenario, IMO. Those were largely marketed to fans, and were not meant to be the next major offering. The release dates were not crucial. THIS release date is important. Adam wants to be hugely successful. Wants the public to devour his next release. Recognizes the importance of timelines to optimize his next release. I trust he will work until the last possible minute, but not beyond. If I am bored because I don't have new Adam news or music, that is my fault, not Adam's. If Adam has become such a focus in my life that I have no other interests, hobbies, work, or loved ones to enrich my life, something is very out of balance. Time to get to work on developing my RL. In fact, this lull in Adam music has inspired me to focus on MY music. I'm singing more, playing the piano more, immersing myself into creating music myself, for my pleasure. I'd gotten rusty and forgotten the joy of making music, not for anyone else, but just as an expression of me. So, it's all good. IMHO. Cassie, I love this post in so many ways! My RL job has been stressful lately, but I've been making time during this lull to be creative just for me! I don't have any talent on a professional level but can express my soul through song, dance and writing anyway.

It seems most of us have come to terms with the "8-week single". I have. I guess. But for those angsty moments that may arise during the long wait, maybe we should post this every day!
adamlambert Ladies and Gentlemen: the new album is sounding amaaaazing! I promise it's worth the wait!!
I think Adam was very smart to tweet that opening. I think fans have moved thru the stages of the news pretty quickly... Adam tweets probably 8 more weeks for single.... 1. Shock and disbelief 2. Worry [optional phase skipped by many fans] 3. Disappointment [almost universal response] 4. Then Acceptance [he said it would be worth the wait] Took less than 24 hours -- seems pretty fast to me. (OK there are a few fans stuck at #2 still but they will get past it.) And I like the idea of posting it every day!

Family and music are my life and my job while great is just a job. Waiting for whats next from Adam is what makes waiting wonderful. The reward at the end, well, just plain and simple PLEASURE!!!!!!

I love Adele's album, every single song. The production was right on. It totally featured her voice and the music never overpowered the voice. She is all I play in my car. Except when I put in the Glamnation album which I also love. When I hear that applause in the background and the screams, it brings it all back for me and my heart even beats faster. I love Adam's tour video and album most of all. Well, maybe the acoustic is my favorite. Then again maybe For Your Entertainment is my favorite. When do they usually start filming videos? How long after an album is released? Anybody remember. They will film the video for the single, not the album release. For Kelly, who I follow so I can give info on her, they filmed the video for her single last week. Her single comes out next Tuesday. I would expect the video to be released a few weeks after that. It seems like a faster timeline, than in the past, so It has made me excited that we will get Adam's videos in a timely manner! To be honest, I thought all his videos came out pretty quickly. I'm not sure if RCA or management does the videos though. I am assuming RCA but really don't have a clue.

Okay, I'm twice timliness impaired on joining in conversations, I'm not only on PDT, but I like to stay up late (when no one is here) and get up late (after the most lively discussions are over). I can't change. Outlaw of time zones. But I needed to respond to this: I have been so busy this last week preparing for a big meeting with the FDA-equivalent health agency in London on Sept 1st I have had no time to check ATOP and missed the twitter party. So here is my big NOOOOOO!!! What will happen to our listening party on Nov. 19? After BF, everyone will be busy preparing for the holidays and I will be busy getting ready to spend the holidays in Manila. Oh well, we can always schedule something when I get back. 8toinfinity - sorry about your job. They say when one door closes, another one opens. It was so true for me. When my old company wanted me to move to corporate headquarters in NJ, I declined along with some other peeps and we started our own company. 8 years later and I have not looked back. It has been great not to work with all the big corporate bureaucracy. Take this time to reflect (and stan), re-energize, and move forward. Ljsmack - glad you sold your house. And good luck on those interviews! And to all living on the path of Irene: take care and take cover! Praying for your safety. Mayumi, thank you for the encouraging words. If I could only see the future was going to be okay, I could enjoy the time off a lot more. I have been so jealous of your plans to have a listening party (whenever that will be now!!). After talking to you at dinner about your last "glam weekend at Mayumi's" and seeing the comments from attendees, I know it will be epic (sorry Adam). Your hostess skills are part of ATOP legend. And Ljsmack - good luck on your interviews. God, I dread going through that whole process again.

Timing is controlled by RCA but they usually work with the artist and artist's management to synchronize strategy and release dates. ETA: Adam hasn't done his album photo session yet and that should come first. And I expect we should get a lot of interesting photos from that.

This is my first time to ever be so involved in a fandom. I was so exhilarated by GNT I wanted to keep the obsession/stoke going, and have. But if I had it to do all over again, I think I would have taken a few months off and be checking in again about now, fresh and rarin' to go! Next time I'll be smarter.
