But there were no green wristbands at Costa Mesa. Were there? I thought it was CM, the first time I saw it, but couldn't figure out the wristbands. I don't know about the wristbands, but it is indeed from the second Costa Mesa Show. I found my daughter and I in the picture. Maybe the wristbands were for over 21 drinkers??? |

A couple of questions: What type of Pop/HAC songs do the fans, who are members here, hope to hear on Adam's second album? Instead of wishing for everything from Opera to Broadway to Standards to Cabaret, etc.- what type of Pop songs are you wishing for? Do you want more Dance songs, songs with a little more Rock or a little more R&B flavor, more HAC leaning songs? Other than Adam, :)what other artists are you listening to at this time? How about over the last year? Have your choices in music changed over the past couple of years, or are you basically listening to the same type of music you were listening to BA?(Before Adam)  Good questions. I am not excited by dance or current pop, but will probably enjoy Adam singing it. R&B, funky, Adele-like music would suit me fine. HAC. I like music that is a bit more complex than most current pop--music that requires more of the listener. Currently have been listening to a few singer-songwriter types: Ferras, Mat Kearney, Michael Johnson. Also, Keane, Muse, Robert Plant, Nikka Costa, Chris Botti, Thievery Corporation, Earth, Wind & Fire, Diana Krall. A variety, I guess (just looked at my iTunes playlists). Definitely I'm listening to different music because of my interest in Adam (a few of his favorites are listed above). I am one of those people who wasn't listening a whole lot to much music. NPR news was my car radio choice. So I'm one of the "music again" fans. I'm having fun discovering new music--but not generally pop. However, I regularly check out what is selling on iTunes just to be familiar with it. That helps when my students at school realize I know what they are listening to and talking about. Music teacher cred. ;D I've been a classic rock fan for years. Now Its classic rock and Adam! I would really love to hear him sing more songs like Music Again. The power of that song really does it for me  |

How many more days do we have to be patient????????????????? Well one of could always volunteer to be packaged and sent to Adam to surprise and awe him and ask "how long"  You my friend are a life line ;D! Do not, I repeat DO NOT stop....or this will be me  (I am the screaming and crying on the floor because my pacifier was just stolen . reihmer & gelly PLEASE do not hold it against me for considering you my "pacifier" until album #2. Truth.......my way of giving a compliment  ) |

In the interest of giving poor Mszue a break (and all those who took any 5 words out of her posts and argued about those get a break too) I'll try redirecting the career advice section of this blog, I want to suggest that Adam could really have a future as an ITT Technician and here is why: We all dream of spending a couple of hours with him. Well I have never seen a computer technician spend less than that to fix my problems - so that would work out well. I would not complain at all. Would gladly spend the inflated hourly technician rates - hey, many of us gladly paid 175 USD for 30 seconds...that would be some hourly rate if you think about it. He clearly would make millions every year. Now I understand that not every technician serenades while working, but at this rate we could ask for a bit of that, I'm sure. No you do not get to receive other services while the disc scans and other IT tools of the trade are humming away, Adam is taken, and anyway...what a bunch of dirty minds here - tz..... Adam always said he wanted to go into a more electronic direction - so ITT -Tech, here we go. Adam wanted to work with people - ITT - Tech, here we go. Adam wanted to have a bunch of dimmers - the perfect career to fulfill such a dream. So when you are all done arguing about Adam's future in opera, Gregorian chant, hip-hop, standards and jazz I can now look forward to an engaging debate about the pros and cons of Adam's prospects in this field, can I - can I? please........  |

Adam loves the minor keys. I was just thinking about that today, with OOL, A Void being posted (btw...nice low range usage there - to tie into yesterday's debate) and now I read it in that Russian article again....he really does love those minor keys, and that already sets him apart a bit. While songs in minor keys are not rare in rock, in pop they are not all that frequent...not really sure what the ratio is, though.
Its the melancholic nature in him that is coming through, talking about feelings, singing about things that are a bit more deep.
And it makes the contrast with the happy dance songs (which would be typically in a major key) ever more apparent. Nice variety, and maybe something that one day we will recognize a lot of signature songs by.
Tigerlily: I am not sure I have a good answer for you. To me it does not matter. I want him to climb whatever chart he wants to. Whatever makes him happy, I'll just come along for the ride. I have a strong sense of what I perceive as good music, music that interests me and holds my attention, but I don't really have an opinion on genre or sub-genre within a genre. It does not matter to me. Whatever works.
And question two: The biggest difference is that I listen to much more music again, as compared to tuning it mostly out because so much newer music did not appeal to me. I first needed to be woken up again and Adam did that. He is able to hold my attention no matter what he sings. My finger is always on the replay button with Adam and I replayed AVoid like crazy today. I love to explore...there is no method or direction and I am not really trying to find one either.
