Here's my third song. I was going to pick Placebo's version of Depeche Mode's I Feel You, but the true test of a great song is what it sounds like live, and I can't find any live recording of Placebo doing that song. Instead I'm picking Placebo's My Sweet Prince, a song about drugs, not a lover. This is an old concert, back in the day when singer Brian Molko would often perform in dresses. He has lovely legs, though you can't see them all that well in this video. Lovely choice - I love Placebo. I know it's an obvious pick but I do think the cover of 'Running up that Hill' is nothing short of genius. "And if I only could make a deal with God..." Been listening to that a lot lately. mika, love that cover as well. That is also on my MP3 playlist and I was actually debating that as a choice. But I couldn't help myself from picking a song from the earlier days of Placebo, simply because I did adore Brian when he was at his androgynous best. I was actually going to go as far back as Nancy Boy, but decided against it. Ah, what the hell. I bet many on this board haven't heard this song or this version. You prompted me to just watch a bunch of live versions of this song. I think this is a pretty interesting one. Starts out like the recorded version and then goes spiraling off into space. Man, this makes me miss seeing Placebo live. Years ago I saw them several times in clubs in Philadelphia. Freakin' fantastic live!

Ever since Adam gave us this new lyric on twitter, "one day when I was trippin, that's when I could see, that the ether that I tapped into could be a reality", I can't stop hearing him in my head singing this song. STOP LAUGHING. Can't. Maybe by fall. Next April or so. I really enjoyed that, jesslala!! LOL, it was part of my family history that my dad's First Love was the Blue Fairy. Also, it's a little known fact that the voice of Jiminy Cricket was also Otis on "The Andy Griffith Show," which I also love.

Ok this is kinda OT but I was reading some ONTD post and someone commented how Brian May compared Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance to Freddie. Erm....WAT? I am only kinda sorta familiar with the band and the lead singer but I do not see it at all.....IS THIS REAL LIFE??!?!?! lol Here is a vid of Brian joining the band www.youtube.com/watch?v=yv48iWDvfAkI....I don't get it....but then again this is not my kind of music at all....
