Hoopla! - I love Conor Oberst - and I love this song, but couldn't find a live perf w/good sound. (the song he usually introduces as being about anonymous sex...lol)
"Life's no storybook. Love's an excuse to get hurt. And to hurt. Do you like to hurt? I do, I do. Then hurt me."

I always liked Bright Eyes but haven't listened to them in a while. This makes me want to listen again. Also, I think I did a disservice to Joni Mitchell by posting the Circle Game vid -- not the best. Here are two other early songs which I love and which show off both her voice and her lyricism much better. Joni Mitchell -- Cactus Tree: www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4DjbEyl5uAJoni Mitchell -- Song to a Seagull www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ2Ecq_VwUM (first two minutes are banter -- actual song starts around 2:04) Hoopla, I feel the same way -- I left out so many other artists and songs, including some already mentioned by others -- Nirvana, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Prince, Tina Turner. etc etc etc. It seems I didn't do such a good job of playing by the rules. What a surprise. Too many songs. Sorry!

essellsari Essell 780 @adamlambert wallpapers made, upd.3rdSept. bit.ly/essellsari ♥ Adam ♥ 9 minutes ago I have a dumb question. I have one of her designs for my Twitter background but can't remember how I got it there. I want to change to a new one but can't figure out how to do it! :-/ mys*&@^#r50Go to her twitter background page. www.essell.mattijarvenpaa.com/twitterBG.htmClick on the one you want, and save it in your computer. Then go to your twitter page. Go to profile----> edit your profile-----> design------> change background image------> select------> select from your computer the image you saved and -----> save changes. Voila!! :D If I wasn't clear enough (sometimes I don't explain things correctly) PM me.

OMG, she is awesome at the banter thing...so many stories she weaves into her concerts--effortlessly, honestly and intelligently, always with humor...Adam will be like that someday I think. Although she does do upbeat songs, too, like Chelsea Morning and All I Want and Night Ride Home) here's just one more reflective song--because of the first line: "Blue...SONGS ARE LIKE TATTOOS"...and songs ARE "like ink under skin" aren't they?

Hoopla, I saw that you mentioned some of my favorites that you couldn't fit on your list so I'll post a few of them and a few I found while I was looking around. Too late for descriptions... mostly chosen for sentimental reasons and the fact that many other favorites were already posted. It feels like we're back in the old music thread *waves to old music thread friends* The Clash- Should I Stay or Should I Go www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1Gn0e7kvTA

well, it's way too late to do this I guess, but just feel like weeding out the top 5 suggestions from the songs I already posted...
1. Paul Simon - Boy in the Bubble 2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside 3. Beatles - For No One 4. Janis Joplin - Piece of My Heart (did I miss someone posting this before?) 5. Ani DiFranco - Evolve
Would love to include Joni Mitchell on there, but not sure I chose the right song(s). Out of what I posted, I particularly love Song to a Seagull. And of course I agree with SO MANY songs suggested by other posters.
