Just heard Britney Spears' "I wanna go" on you tube. It has this sound like whistle. It's one of the things that bothered me on "moves like Jagger" because it sounded like that "my first kiss..." song of that H2O (or something ) duet with Kesha only with whistle replacing ooooooh. One of the reasons I thought it was not fresh.
Then I read (here of course) that Benny Blanco is involved in both songs (Jagger and H2SO4). I'm not worried at all. Adam has the knowledge of music, the instict and the personality to lead the song in the direction HE wants. Just an observation, and anyway could be just a coinsidence.

Haha! I swear I was going to ask Adam if there was whistling in any of his songs during his last Twitter party. "Pumped Up Kicks" uses it too. I always tune into the whistling in "I Wanna Go," though I don't particularly like it.

Katy is on Capital Records and Adam is on RCA. Adam has the same management as Katy. Would Adam's new management release another song for Katy knowing it would get in the way of Adam's new single?

There are many who insist it's because he was openly gay and I definitely think that has a lot to do with why he hadn't been signed to a major label, even though he obviously has the voice, looks, stage presence and charisma.

I think the primary issue may have been his shift in focus late in the game. He was so busy trying to make a living in musical theater that he may not have realized his passion for it had waned. Then when The Citizen Vein came along, they were still trying to find their sound, build a base of originals, etc. while Adam was in "Wicked" and Monte was touring with Madonna. Adam even said they only did a few gigs. Then with his other more poppy originals, he was trying to find his own sound/identity and that was still in the growing phases.

The fact that Adam is so good at so many things can be a blessing and a curse, especially when you're trying to make a living as an artist in Hollywood. You have to go where the paying gigs take you and doing eight shows a week makes it really difficult to pursue other interests. You're exhausted, probably having fun and making ends meet, so it's tough not to claim your downtime as your downtime.

What baffled me is how he didn't get the lead roles in the theater productions. I remember one of the first things I read when I first started googling him (I think after TOMT) was on Broadway.com and they were talking to other musical theater actors who had worked with him in the past.

According to the comments, he was known then as an unbelievable singer, even among the best theater singers out there. Someone told the story about how they were supposed to meet him and work together. Someone asked them, "Have you heard him yet?" First person: "No." Second person: (Something to the effect of) "You are going to be blown away."

Someone else talked about hearing him through the walls of a rehearsal hall for the first time and saying, "Who the hell is THAT?"

Wow! I'll always be thankful he took a chance. Pure Guts!!!! Or balls

It was just 2 years ago that there was some doubt that stations would play even someone who came from American Idol. And when FYE stalled it really looked dicey for a while. That was a few weeks before the AMA performance -- so it was about the song or the artist or the combination. I still think that FYE deserved to be a hit song although I think the song's production (the retro beat) was the biggest barrier to audience acceptance. But thankfully, Z100, WSTW, WFLZ and a few other Clear Channel stations got behind WWFM and supported it from the start.

Station, format, market, market rank WWFM add date. RCA clearly made a lot of deals to get airplay. You will find a promo event for all the early adders in the US.

Some current big supporters of Adam were actually late to add WWFM -- Q102 didn't add it until 1/2/2010.

And WWFM is still getting played -- 195 monitored stations played it at least once last week. KMXP-FM Phoenix (HAC station) played it 46 times.

Looking at the struggle that FYE and WWFM had to get airplay, I think Adam's next single may have a much easier time because Adam and RCA have worked hard to pave the way.

Well THAT is funny!! I'm trying for 2 days now to upload the same gif it and I can't!! I know it's too big, it's 23.5 MB but I have a paid account and it won't let me!! And I have gifs that are 25 MB on my photobucket account! WTF!
