I remember your words every time I listen to this :
When Ryan told him "you make it sound so easy" and Adam said
"Thank you, it took A LOT OF REHEARSAL, to get it the way I wanted it......"

okay but who is sitting next to Sauli in the helicopter/plane? You can see the tattoos so we know it's not Adam. Roxy maybe? Hmm, excellent catch. Roxy does have a lot of tats, but arm looks a tad beefy (could be angle) and she is very thin. Anyone have any Roxy pics handy? Otherwise, don't know, but looks like Adam not next to him, which is rather strange. I wonder if they flew up separately? A could be riding shotgun, but seems he would have been in back with S, especially if Sauli was very anxious about the flight.

RV's have full showers. My mom and dad live in one. It even has a bathtub. They have holding tanks for clean water and used water. momtomany said that there were pump trucks that would empty the RV's of the used water. Absolutely no reason to go without a shower if you rent an RV. Water supply in the tanks can last for over a week, if you use the water sparingly. If I had a desire to go to BM next year, I'd borrow Mom's 40 foot rock star bus. Sleeps 5 comfortably and has huge clean and used water holding tanks. They can stay at a campground without individual sewage facilities for 2 weeks without dumping. And there is stuff to put in the used water that completely gets rid of any odor. Mom and dad have been traveling the country living in their rock star bus for 10+ years. We've stayed with them many many times and there has never been a problem with water, sewage or odors.

That’s like saying you’re having an olive for dinner. Maybe I’m just not flexible enough in my old(ish - ahem!) age. LOL...You could go in RV/rig up a shower, but that would kind of defeat the purpose for me. Reminds me of 10 days in Summer 1969—heighth of hippiedom—Portland cousins from commune came to visit my little MO town of 1,000—after which I went without showering/shaving etc. for 10 days to see if I liked it. I did. My mom didn't. My summer employer at the Frosty Freeze reaaaaallllly didn't. I have wanted to go to BM since 1988. I'm going next year. I'm not getting any younger. It has nothing to do with Adam, and he could be performing on my patio,* and I'd still rather be at BM.It's a spiritual necessity. *Okay, this example is rather extreme... can I housesit for you? ;D

Yes, I know about vocal lessons and practice. My DD is a vocalist who is also involved heavily in musical theatre. I'm sure Adam took lessons and worked on his vocal skills for years, but I just don't believe he put in 3-4 hours a day, 50-52 weeks a year, for ten years. I know it takes a lot of hard work to make it to the top of your game.
I do too. I never said it was all natural! I was just wondering if Adam had given us the 10,000 hour number or if this number was pulled out of the air by a fan.
I also believe Adam was blessed with a great deal of natural talent, and luckily he discovered that at an early age. I would throw in all the performance practice hours spent in musical theatre that added up to make him the performer, not just the vocalist, that he is today! Now, you ARE talking about several hours every day! (if you include acting, blocking, stage movement, dance, solo work, chorus work...) Practice for a musical can last anywhere from 2-10 hours a day! All of those hours are what makes everything seem effortless on stage for Adam. He is at home on stage because he spent so many hours there. This is what Ryan was referring to when he commented that everything Adam did seemed effortless.
I thought of Adam the whole time I was reading this book! You would love it! It has a chapter about the Beatles and how much time and work they had to put into songwriting and performing together to get to the point of worldwide superstars.

Just catching up with the thread per usual - slept until 10:00 AM Wait - I think I'm unconsciously conforming to Adam-time. LOL ( like girls' periods sync when the spend too much time together - LOL) ;D
Just wanted to chime in: 3. Listening to and watching Adam sing, I can hear/see the techniques he employs. One doesn't just do those things naturally. One may have the natural physiology, but one has to learn to use it, and practice using it until it becomes second nature. So, that when one is on-stage, performing to thousands, interacting with the audience, interacting with the band, monitoring the sound, yelling at the sound guy, dancing, kissing, improving, etc. the technique remains a solid foundation that one doesn't have to think about. That kind of automated skill takes a great deal of practice. And this is why it pisses me off when folks say he isn't a "real" musician because he doesn't play an instrument!! We would be missing out on the best singers in the world if that became the criteria. I know, I know - where's the dead horse gif? I am so happy for A & S at BM! When S mostly mentioned the dust etc. during the Tutka show, I was afraid he was not as thrilled as Adam wanted him to be. But "best week of my life" sounds pretty damn thrilled. I am really loving this love story. And when they share their life with us, like they do, it seems like they don't mind that we are lapping it up. AND THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE SAULI THREAD! Just found the timeline for A&S. Love it. Hope it becomes an easy current, reference. (Jeez, I'm so far gone - but this insanity is keeping me sane. Seriously.) Heard WWFM in the market yesterday. I still here it on the radio (KBIG -104) etc. too. I really think it is going to be around for a while. I would like to get my other Adult Station here (KOST 103.5) to start playing it. I OD'd on it for a while - but now it's like a really familiar, well-loved classic when I hear it. Hoping for at least 2 more of these on Adam 2 and a classic dance song to go with them. Sorry, long post is rambling and....long.

I know it takes a lot of hard work to make it to the top of your game. I'm taking the 3-4 hours a day as an AVERAGE. It still may be on the high side, but as you said, it takes long days of rehearsing for shows and plays etc. Add days of recording and composing and that's a lot of hours. It obviously doesn't mean literally, every day. JMHO YMMV
