Sigh. Oh, well. I am desperate for new music from Adam. I NEED new music from Adam. But, I have needed new music from Adam all of 2011. The thing about my obsession is, I am so enamored by the man and his music that I am insatiable. I can barely remember when I wasn't. When the new single comes out I will play it excessively for a few weeks and then look around and say, "Okay, what's next?" When the new album comes out (in Jan, Feb, March, April???) I will be in seventh heaven and play it non-stop on my iPod for a month or two, and then look around and say, "Okay, what's next?" Wait ANOTHER two years for album #3? I'll never survive! The plain truth is I cannot get enough of Adam. There is no way that he can give enough interviews, appear on enough TV programs, release enough music, tweet enough twats to satiate me for more than a short period of time. The problem is entirely mine, not Adam's. So, I will have to find a way to deal with my addiction. I am not willing to go into rehab or enter a twelve-step program, as that would require me to give up Adam completely, like an alcoholic has to give up drinking, period. Nope, ain't gonna do that. Instead, I am gonna give myself a good attitude adjustment. Three years ago my life was looking rather dull; black and white. Adam sang "Mama" and the world changed to technicolor. That's a good thing. I'm gonna enjoy the new music whenever Adam graces us with it. In the meantime, I'm gonna take my paint and brushes and maybe a little glitter, and find other stuff to glamorize. Ah, Cassie, you hit the nail on the head! Go, Adam!!! We will be here and waiting!

So now what? It's gonna come out in Jan or Feb which is music's no-mans-land? I am more upset than I can believe. I gotta step back and lie to myself and tell myself that it doesn't matter. But it does. David Cook scenerio all over again. how is this david cook all over again? I don't think I'm fully understanding this comparison. Can someone explain it to me? Cook sold platinum his first album, but because David Cook's release date was put off, put off, put off for so long, when it finally came out the sales were very poor. It kinda tanked. :-/

This seems highly unlikely. The public's attention span isn't that short. Most artists go 2 years between albums. Early 2012 will be a little over 2 years. He's still getting radio play with his songs from the first era and like I pointed out before, he's still in the media. I think everyone should just breathe and take a step back. None of us work in the music industry and even those who 'have connections' can't possibly know the intimate details of label decisions. Perhaps the promo set up by 19 wasn't good enough for his new management? Perhaps his new management was able to negotiate more creative control for him than he previously had and he was able to imput more of his own vision into this project? Adam is a very smart man. All this angst and worry makes it seem like some doubt his ability to make sound decisions for his own career. He knows what he's doing. TRUST HIM! Trust the people he has surrounded himself with to know what they are doing. It's their job to know...it's our job as fans to be ready when the music is released, whenever that is. I trust Adam! He has learned alot over the past 2 years on how this music business works and what works for him. That's true......as long as it WAS Adam's decision. OK, new approach......I'm ignoring it, didn't hear a thing.....

I've added the bibliography to the Idol Era thread, too. 59. Wallen, Amy. "Why Sleeping with Adam Lambert's Dad Is Too Complicated." Faster Times 10 Aug. 2009. thefastertimes.com/unconventionalrelationships/2009/08/10/why-sleeping-with-adam-lamberts-dad-is-too-complicated/atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=idolpreformances&action=display&thread=23&page=20#91015Amy Wallen, the woman who shares Eber Lambert's life, humorously tries to find the right words to describe her relationship with Eber and Adam Lambert. “I sleep with Adam Lambert’s dad,” I have been told by a special someone, is a tacky way to introduce myself. But I have run out of explanations, and that seems to be the most succinct description, and well, one that shuts everyone up. But I’m not ready to shut up about it. I do sleep with Adam’s dad. I live with Adam’s dad, but apparently there isn’t a word for what I am. I’m not Adam’s stepmom, nor is he my stepson (stepstar?) because I’m not married to his dad. But I’m having sex with his dad, and I’m paying a mortgage with his dad. But, I’m not a wife. So what am I? What do I call the relationships in this non-traditional household of rockstars, sinners and one fellow who before the 2009 season thought American Idol was a game show?

Adam is basically finished with his album. The single is selected and he is putting the final touches on a few songs. Alisan, and now his family, have all heard the album. The delay doesn't appear to be about Adam sitting around and thinking and creating. The delay probably has to do with a change in management and/or the restructuring at RCA. Then there is the worst option: the record label decided to make other artists priorities in the fourth quarter. The first two reasons irritate me, but in today's economy, these types of cut backs and changes are happening everywhere. Now, the last reason worries me on a whole different level. Not because I don't believe Adam will put out a good album, but because I want his record label to be behind it 100%! This Xena can stay chill all she wants, but I can't help but wonder about what is happening and worry a little bit. ETA: LOL! I was just about to type the same thing about Cook's album. It sucked-even his casual fans didn't buy it. It didn't have good radio singles, so they have nowhere to go with it now. As long as Adam can release a single that at least does as well as WWFM, his album sales will do much better than Cooks. If he doesn't have a hit single- the sales will still be better due to his worldwide support.

It tanked because the lead off single was not good, got no radio play, and there aren't any good choices for follow up singles. But, RCA accepted this album and RCA chose the single, so...... I still don't have much faith in them.

And again, people trot out the E word whenever anyone expresses emotion or concern. I've really begun to hate that word, but here, I'll use it again ... People are Entitled to their feelings. No one has a right to tell me I may or may not feel something that I feel. We all have ways of processing. Some need to verbalize frustration, confusion and disappointment. Some need to see the positive. That's great! Many are somewhere in between and it changes by the minute. And like many have said, that's why we're on a board or on Twitter to begin with. To interact with people with like interests and share and flail like crazy and commiserate when necessary. On Twitter it was a combination of people finger-wagging, wanking about wank or doing the "I Told You So" dance. I thought they were more difficult to deal with than the people who were just expressing their honest frustration, anxiety or disappointment in the moment. We will get through it. We always do, but we're allowed to feel whatever we are feeling without others dictating to us what that may be. I am a writer who has worked on deadlines and worked without deadlines. Hate to tell ya, deadlines are MUCH better. And yes, I had people asking me about my novel in that same way and it drove me crazy sometimes but was always touched that they genuinely cared and were rooting for me. The fact of the matter is, it took so long because I WAS second-guessing myself and freaking myself out. This is a luxury an artist isn't afforded when they are committed to other people to deliver a product. That being said, I think the album is very close to done. Someone reminded me of a tweet where he said he would not release the single until album is complete. Sia's tweet also indicates the track listing is finalized. I took Eber's tweet to be any number of things. Maybe the date change was Adam's idea with DMG's urging? I don't know. Since RCA still doesn't have anyone slated for those weeks, I am inclined to believe they may have been pushing for November still. Happy birthday Bocababe!!!!
Please feel better and be good to yourself Glamnana!!
