Damn, I was just gonna take a few bites of my decadent Belgian chocolate gelato. I finished the whole pint reading thru this thread. Amy made me a little angsty, but now I am somewhat relieved. But I have a feeling there is some head butting going on. I agree re: the head butting, but that's JMHO. Re: worries - my mother used to tell me all the time that the things I worried and fretted over the most were the very things that 99.9% of the time never happened---and she was right. But when I am worried/angsty/disappointed, blah blah blah....I have to vent and get it out of my system. It's the only way I can clear my head.  |

Look, I'm not telling anyone that what they feel is wrong, but all if this is just speculation. You can make yourself crazy dwelling on the negative. A great mentor once told me " stay out of your head, it's a bad neighborhood. " I think what she meant was once you start trying to guess the outcome of your greatest fears you only give them more power. I choose to speculate this is all positive for Adam. I know that's not always easy but it' slot less stressful. Besides, I think it's true. JMHO. I don't disagree, but someone having a shocked initial reaction and going through the stages of processing is not necessarily dwelling on the negative. People are simply reacting, honestly, in the moment. Once they've raged to the world said their piece, they can take a step back, draw a deep breath and realign their expectations. We pretty much do it all the time on this roller-coaster ride and will do it some more. There are going to probably be people who don't like the album cover ( Hoppers  ) or the first single, or the video, etc. and we'll go through the whole thing all over again. Reminds me of an episode of "Will & Grace" where they got in a fight and Will says, "Do we have to do the whole laugh, cry and come to terms thing?" Grace: "Maybe we can just shorthand it ..." Both in unison: "Haha!!" "Boo hoo" *hug* And all was resolved. |

That's what I'd like to know b/c she didn't really answer the question; maybe to her wailing IS showing off his voice or maybe she prefers when he wails WHILE showing off his voice. IDK; just rambling; ignore me. I like the variety of the songs on FYE (I love Broken Open) and I love OOL but wouldn't necessarily want an album with too many songs like those even though they do show off his voice. JMHO I know Eber loves Classic Rock. Maybe Amy likes the same type of music- thus her preference for wailing. Maybe the album is too pop sounding for her taste. (crosses fingers!) Oooops, now I see the new tweets. Okay, some wailing and some poppy songs! That's what I'm going to take from this! That's what I was thinking too. Amy probably wants more Rock and I think we are assuming, Adam #2 will be more Pop. I am Ok with no wailing on the album, because in concerts, THERE WILL BE WAILING!!! |

I liken the highs and lows of this day to the highs and lows one may experience when out drinking with friends. First you are all WOOOO THIS IS SOO MUCH FUN WOOOO! Then you are all WOAH THE ROOM IS SPINNING THAT'S WEIRD, and then you are all DO YOU GUYS LIKE ME? ARE YOU GUYS MAD AT ME? YOU TOTALLY ARE, AREN'T YOU? I''M SORRY! DON'T BE MAD! And then it progresses to FINE! BE MAD! I DON'T NEED YOU GUYS! FUCK THIS SHIT I WANT ANOTHER DRINK! And then it ends up being all MAN I DON'T FEEL SO GOOD GUYS. And finally swings back around to OMG I LOVE YOU GUYS! I LOVE EVERYONE! LET'S DO SHOTS! WOOO! And finally you pass out in a pool of your own vomit and wake up the next day with absolutely no recollection of what happened. I reckon that's what is gonna happen tomorrow. I kind of feel like that myself right now. My back went out over the weekend and I'm on strong meds. I'm feeling noooo pain at the moment! And seriously, my mother is the Empress of Worriers. You lot have NOTHING on her, trust me! I've tried very hard in my adult life not fall into that trap of dwelling on things I have no control over. It's kind of pointless, IMO. Of course, STRONG MEDs help too! Also, I'll miss paperheart. I hope she'll reconsider and come back. |
