Just wondering what this might be about. Anything to do with the album??? Thoughts??? @milestougeaux Miles Tougeaux It took a month for me to hate 70sDisco, a week to hate 90s Rap, a few days before despising Hip Hop. Dub Step:full revulsion in 60 seconds. 1 hour ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply CRS, but...didn't Adam tweet something a while back about the dub step in someone's song? Was it Britney's?? Maybe he has a dub step in one of the songs on the album?? Rambling here. ETA: Oops; here it is: Wow new Britney is a hot one. Dubstep bridge is nuts!! Amazing production @thedoctorluke @adamlambert 8 months ago It was Britney. Adam loved it!

I agree with much of what you said rihannsu but you're citing megastars.....they've already established their success. What - we're going to dismiss U2 if we don't like their new album? Did we forget about Guns n Roses while we waited for Axl to get his shit together? Adam's sophomore album is crucial to his longevity.... he hasn't quite earned it yet. I promise I won't angst as much over his 5th ;D

I know how Paperheart felt today, and why she bailed..I was so excited to read about a new single in a few weeks, but all the negativity on this thread just hit me between the eyes, and I felt so bad for Adam (yes, ENTITLED fans) that I shut down the computer and walked away. We should be nurturing what Adam is doing, not denigrating his, and his management's business plan. JMHO

From lurking there today it doesn't seem like most posters have really jumped onto commenting about it and/or don't seem to have read enough about the music industry to be worried about January, for example. They are just excited about the single. I don't think they have had the hints and expectations built about a November release that parts of twitter, here, and certain other fan areas have. One or two users withdrew quietly though due to the wait. Well, just between you and me, I am not expecting the album in January. Me either. JMO, early 2012 is January through March, but at this point, I'm trying very hard not to "expect" anything. Some days are easier than others.

Why the angst - new single soon YAY new album not too far away double YAY. From where I sit it is time to get a bit stoic about it all - as in stoic philosophy. My fav Epictetus has great advice (paraphrasing) "you only control your own thoughts and actions" that's it. So if you are upset at the announcement of timing or think Adam and his management are not doing what they should, then that is on you not on him - your thoughts and actions. Love me some Epictetus. BRIDGEY!!! I saved that BOOK(lol) on Epictetus you sent me because it/he is full of wisdom. I actually re-read it from time to time. I already had incorporated his views into my personal philosophy, but good to look at as a reminder of how that should direct my actions from time to time. so ITA--YAY for October(ish) single and YAY for his excitement for #2 whenever he feels it/he is ready! RIHANNSU, you shouldn't feel such a disconnect, because I think you always make perfect sense. I love your logical take on things and look forward to your posts!

There's a way to express one's opinion without criticizing other people's opinions or making them seem unimportant or insignificant. Just sayin'. When you criticize another posters feelings or opinions, then you are doing the exact same thing to them, that you are criticzing them of doing to Adam and his management. As I said this morning, everyone's opinions matter. We are a community, that's why we're here. No? No one's opinion should be criticized as being invalid just because it isn't the same as yours. The issue should be discussed, not the people posting about it.Never mind. Just read Aloha's post below because she's doing it perfectly... a different opinion without attacking other posters' opinions.

Okay,
Part of my long-ass post that never made it ..
Most of the people I know in real life have no idea Adam has been working on an album. They have no idea we're waiting and waiting. They have no idea I want it so badly. I would feel odd if they knew the extent of my emotional investment in Adam.
That said, I am GLAD Adam will release a single way in advance of the album, maybe two singles, because this is how most folks become aware and interested in the artist and the album. They hear the song. They like the song. They like the video. Adam is cool.
If another single is released-- oh, they think. That's Adam Lambert-- gee he sure has a lot of stuff on the radio!
When the album drops we hard core fans will snatch it up anyway like starving cats. And all that buzz generated among the general public, the casual fans who don't hang onto every single thing Adam, well, they'll have heard him on the radio, they'll have seen him on TV, and they'll be more likely to buy it, too.
I really think our fandom is strong and committed. I'm not afraid the gap will be his undoing. I think if he produces mediocre music-- THAT will be his undoing. And I have a lot more faith in him than that.
I've personally made it a point to try to avoid the negative aspects of fandom, especially the angst. After all, we do not know what's happening behind the scenes. Sure, we can ninja out some details but we can only know the truth from Adam himself. So much of what we talk about is speculation until Adam sets us straight.
I love this man and his talent and his intelligence and his refusal to be manipulated or pushed around. If there's nothing else I've learned from being his fan, it's that what seems horrible and hopeless at first -- isn't. He's always come out on top (so to speak).

So if you are upset at the announcement of timing or think Adam and his management are not doing what they should, then that is on you not on him - your thoughts and actions. Love me some Epictetus. Epictetus is pretty cool. I've been trying to think about why this hits strong feelings for people (including me at times) today and I think maybe for some it's not really about wondering about business strategy or even waiting a long time (a la various groups that have a place in music history and can afford to do what they want pretty regardless of fan relations at this point). It's about stanning or berting. The habitual activity pattern of a daily or many times a day check-in and investment in Adam world versus being a more casual fan, who enjoys the music and the man, but hasn't portioned off a fairly signficant time investment in cheerleading, pondering, and sharing the experience of fandom. When I choose to do this I choose to spend time away from other aspects of my life. When I feel I've spent a lot of time online without much to enjoy or digest or cheer on, I feel like I've wasted my "for fun" time in that particular day. This has nothing to do with Adam, it's just personal. I don't know how Adam feels about very invested fans versus casual fans. It doesn't really matter. I can handle uncertainty and delayed gratification just fine when I'm not watching closely. But my natural inclinations are the very opposite of midwivespal lol! Carpe Diem all the way!! and watching other people eat delicious food at the restaurant while I wait to be seated for an hour is not my steez. I'd rather pick up takeout somewhere and try back on a weeknight. :D So for myself, absent any judgement about Adam's timing or strategy at all I'm gonna just do what entertains me, whether that is deciding just to check once a week until the single drops or to ride the roller coaster daily. The nice thing about this roller coaster is you can get on and off multiple times really, whatever feels comfortable for you. Also I really don't think either method of stanning is going to stop me funnelling money into Adam's/RCA's coffers for every upcoming b-side remix single imported from Japan ;D ETA: I am really looking forward to the single and the new and exciting world of era 2 promo whatever form it make take.

JMHO Well, elizalynn, this thread has not really been about "negativity" as much as it's been about fans who love Adam sharing their honest reactions and venting their personal (not entitled) feelings about #2 not being available for us to enjoy as soon as Adam had originally thought it would be. At this point, I think things are pretty much back to normal. This is a place where it is okay for everyone to feel whatever he/she feels, including you! Like you, I couldn't care less when he releases #2. But I understand others' disappointment, too, and that's all it is really--disappointment and speculation. It's all good.
