Sigh... its American Idol season ... and every time there is a reference to Adam... comments starts piling , three , four , five pages in any blog....
Can Adam charge these blogs $1.00 for every time his name is mentioned even in comments... he will be a multimillionaire pretty soon....

James does need more time to "ripen." Has a wicked range, but not totally under his control yet. It also doesn't have the depth and richness of tone Adam's does. There is something unpleasantly sharp and brittle to the high notes. To be totally fair, Adam could sound like that too in some of the pre-Idol videos. I can hear the growth in his control, depth and finesse from then til now. If James has the opportunities Adam had throughout his 20's singing many different styles in many different genres and venues, he may also improve. With Tourette's and with Aspergers, tho, he will have a very tough battle. The thing Adam had and has, probably equally or more important than the voice (can't believe I am saying that) is his remarkable people skills, his ability to collaborate harmoniously, his ability to converse with so many different people and code-switch to their style, his ability to read people, his ability to connect with eye contact. All things that are difficult for someone with James' disabilities. I think about SuBo being thrust into the limelight and her inability to cope and connect, despite a voice many love. I don't want to see James crash under the pressure. I wish him well. Just wish everyone would stop comparing him to Adam, favorably or unfavorably, ITA -- I think it is interesting that one of the consistent topics in Idol for two seasons has been ____________ is like Adam Last year it was Shioban, this year James. They do not get it -- just because someone can hit high notes doesn't make them Adam. I think this is very telling. I don't hear ______ is like Kris Allen, or David Cook, or Fantasia. They are all looking for the "next" Adam Lambert. What does that say to Adam's place in Idol lore or pop music or celebrity culture?

That will be easier to do if he stops comparing himself to Adam. That would be my advice for him. better for him not to go there with the comparison. ....and perhaps he shouldn't sing the same songs Adam sang on Idol? A Change is Gonna Come....are you kidding me, James? LOL!

Welcome, Lifeguard! I just came aboard recently after lurking for some time. This is a great place!! I don't know squat how to do anything but direct post yet, but I thank everyone for today. This is why Atop intrigues me..thought-provoking discussions, poofs and the 'aftermath', codpieces and butts, Adele and Amy, revamping AL's merch, and love and respect for Adam Lambert and each other. World peace.. ALL IN ONE DAY! Did I miss anything? Go guise...go...g'nite....

A Change is Gonna Come....are you kidding me, James? LOL! You know, I was at loose ends tonight so I watched AI. First time since the S8 finale. I might have watched again, except for JD singing ACIGC. That killed it for me. I don't think the kid is bad, and I wish him the best, but I really do not want to see any more. I can barely keep up with Adam--and there's no one like him anywhere, much less on AI--so I just have to prioritize! He did 50+ AI tour shows, AMAs, Gridlock, RMT, FS and 111 GN shows, not to mention countless TV appearances (I'm behind on my GMA Starlight viewing), events and promo sessions and Unzippedexcuse me, Unplugged and JFC I can't even remember, plus all the Pre-AI and AI performances, not to mention the absolute myriad of print and vid interviews from the past two years. Seriously, I'm set for life. But I want even more. So much Adam, so little time! Gonna have a little Oh My Ra and Can't Let You Go before bed now! ETA: VIVLITE, I see you there, doing a great daily recap! I gotta remember to PM you on the days I can't be here! Masterful, girl!
