If we go by the definition given by the Urban dictionary of "Post Gay" which was referenced here (and what Mzsue and I were going on about) when Adam said "Post Gay, look it up" in his twitter party then I certainly would not want "fag hag" to refer to his closest friends, eek. Maybe Adam has a different dictionary. Again, this is simply going by how the Urban Dictionary describes Fag Hag in reference to Post Gay and doesn't at all indicate how Adam may or may not use Faghag in the past or present of if he even saw it in any dictionary he may have or have not looked up. But Urban Dictionary is extremely subjective. These are random people's interpretations and explanations of slang, which of course evolves by the day, and differently in different regions. That's why the descriptions are often contradictory. He can give the general concept without necessarily agreeing with every last word in that particular definition. I just took that element of the definition as the writer going off on a bit of a tangent. It really wasn't all that relevant, IMO, to the overall description. Of course it's subjective and how it's used in this case as a throw away sentence as an example of use and not even in the so-called defintion of Post Gay is surely different than how it's used elsewhere even in the same on-line any-body-can-make-shit-up dictionary or other on-line dictionary or blog spot of a similiar vein including Wikipedia, lol. I personally would hate being refered to as a faghag since I hate both words and I don't car if the purpose is appreciative or perjorative and I'd take bets that Adam seldom refers to his women friends as fruit flies either. "Let me introduce you to my dear fruit fly Danielle" is just so limiting. It's putting people in boxes and just as Adam doesn't like boxes neither do most other people. It's old fashioned and something that post gays and post gay appreciaters "PGA" are beyond. (make sure to read that last line with an appropriate proper high falutin' intonation so that my intention to make this topic oh so not deep hopefully overcomes and is not dragged into the dreadful word by word sentence diagrams we-who-are-bored so dearly love to do.) Now I think the plaintive question "how does Adam view us?" is one that's likely to come up quite often because even if many of us are long past our PMS days there are just sometimes when things we'd normally chuckle about just tweak our little heart strings. Woah to the entitled fans, teen moms, dance mom's, people who ask "is it too gay" (that one includes himself since he said it on national tv), etc. etc. It's like posting when either nobody replies or every reply seems to totally misinterpret what you were trying to get across so elequently with your own personal version of Paula-speak. We put out a :-/ or a  and then come back with a >:( and eventually get around to ;D and pretty soon everything is :D again. So there! |
