Hi, guys! I am waaaaay behind, on p. 7--just watched gay soldier vid that Bridget posted (cried...you could just feel that kid's nervousness--so glad his dad was so loving)-- but just saw this on Twitter and wanted to post SINCE IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR A SINGLE FROM OUR MUTHAFUCKINBEAST! ;D RequestAdam LAST CALL! Adam had a twitter party, YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!! I was at work all day, covering for someone on a two week cruise :  , my reward (of course it is all about my reward  ) Adam was bored at the airport ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Adam's generation speaks a language that, at times, I have NO idea what the hell he is talking about........refer to urban dictionary????? Are you kidding, I need an interpreter for the dang urban dictionary :( Same with my kids, I have to make sure when they refer to someone as bad that they are actually good ;D For me, I don't care if I am a hag or a fly, no idea what post gay means, I do know I will support him in any way I can. Sooooooooo, I do have an account, if I can remember how to access it , anyway, do I need to act on this tonight so I can ratethemusic when Adam's single comes out? It is interesting because the songs chosen highlight something I have been noticing on the radio lately ... less autotune. Also you can really tell formula songs based on material from a year ago, and it is just not doing that well. |

I would like to make a suggestion. After perusing one of the Adommy shipper's twitter messages it is quite obvious to me that every time people talk about them and how crazy they are they just eat it up like candy. They live for this. It is as much entertainment to them as their fantasies are. They amp up the cray specifically to get the rest of us going so they can watch the fallout. Talking about them is the same as feeding the trolls on message boards. Nothing any of us say is going to stop them, and Adam and Tommy are quite aware of them and as Adam stated today it is not worth giving energy to them or their ideas.
I strongly suggest that we stop talking about them, stop reading their feeds and reporting on their insanity and most of all stop worrying about how Adam feels because his tweet today shows that he is over it and chooses not to give it any attention. I truly believe that we should follow suit. Even when they are not engaged directly they know and keep track of those who talk about them and the derive a lot of pleasure from watching people go on about them. Much in the same way that we stopped giving hits to negative articles and stopped arguing with Moser, we really need to just quit talking about the cray because that only gives them power. The crazies will always be with us just like Westboro Batshit Crazy church and the more attention we give them the stronger they get. Ignore the darkness and just concentrate on increasing the light.
Anyway that's my personal goal for my future Adam stanning. I don't intend to waste energy pointing fingers at crazy people.

I am not an anthropologist, but I am an interpreter and and interpreter educator by profession. I know that one of the characteristics of a culture or a sub-culture is its language. When interpreting, it is not enough to do a word for word substitution. The interpreter must understand how that word is used in that culture, what is its denotative and connotative meaning (the literal meaning and the emotional or implied meaning), and what is the context in which the word or phrase is used. One has to consider the environment in which the word is employed, the level of formality or intimacy, as well as the shared experience of the speakers.
When we discuss Adam's use of certain terms like "post gay", "fag hag", "fruit fly" or "fish" we need to acknowledge that, unless we are intimately aware of the culture that employs these terms, we may misinterpret the message or the emotions and intent behind it. The dictionary can only take us so far in our understanding, and can sometimes be more harmful than helpful.
Placing Adam's use of terms in context.... as an interpreter I pull from my knowledge not only of the gay community (which is somewhat more extensive than "normal" but much less than complete) and from my knowledge of Adam as a person - again, certainly not complete, but more than just casual from AI. Adam has said repeatedly that he likes women, he thinks women are beautiful, and he has many women as dear friends. Adam has a great appreciation for his fans and for the diversity they span. Adam is also consciously and unconsciously positive in his outlook and his speech. This leads me to conclude that Adam's use of these terms is not pejorative. I trust what I know about Adam more than I trust Urban Dictionary.

wow! what happened? I left at the end of the twitter party and everything was nice-to-flailing mood and now everything is concerned/-is_he_an-OK _person mood... I did not see any reason for transition ??? so, what happened in the last 3-4 hours?
Adam should still be in the air...
Lets see - may be papz will be at the LAX and we will then direct our energy towards denouncing them for giving us pictures of tired Adam ;D

One thing that drives me insane at political blogs is that even when people know they're feeding trolls they just can't help themselves. And the degeneration of the dialogue destroys the discussion for everyone. OTOH, in positive land, we love Rico. Extremely impressed with Rico's All-Tweet PR campaign. If this song doesn't make the album, ain't no way Adam can't include it as a bonus track, or a something. Everyone's involved now. Very clever, Rico. Some things in life are guaranteed. Death, taxes, and mentioning great things about Adam Lambert will get you a zillion Re-Tweets. |

I love when Adam is in airports, and when he is bored.  It sounds like Adam had some new collaboration opportunities come up that he wanted to explore; maybe that is why the album is coming out in 2012. I love that Adam knows what he wants to do and what he likes, and that he makes that clear in his twitter response to that one fan. It makes me feel there is less chance of him getting pushed around by TPTB. He also seems to want to make it clear that the label is being patient, implying that the release date stems from his choice. Oh, and I am glad he has found love. The tweets to which Adam chooses to respond give insight about what he wants to put out there. I am more excited than ever about the album. His comment about not having picked the lead single could indicate that he may be working on some tracks right now that he thinks are real possibilities to be in contention for it, in addition to tracks he has already more or less completed. If so, that isn't that a good sign for possible multiple singles from the album? I'm going to believe yes. That's my story. Besides, if I were Rico Love, or whoever, I would be more motivated if I knew I was writing a possible lead single. And if you are doing new songs, why close any doors? Lifeguard , I like your baby arriving analogy. Adam feels like the person who keeps getting asked when the baby is due, but I feel like the CD is the baby I keep endlessly waiting for to arrive, LOL!
