The Kiss had to be there and I would never want that to change. It will be used in all kinds of retrospectives for years to come. It is a benchmark, a pivot point in American culture and Adam will never be forgotten. It is the counterpoint to the Madonna/Britney kiss and I think that is why the kiss gets so much more attention than the other sexual displays. Furthermore, a kiss that was a peck on the lips would not have done it, this was a f**ckin bad-ass "frankly Scarlett I don't give a damn" kind of kiss with no apologies. America needed to see that and Adam, as usual, gave people something they didn't know they wanted.
On that note, I am off to bed and wouldn't be surprised by a wet dream after getting all hot and bothered thinking about that AMA kiss. I just hope that any dream involves Adam and that I remember it. LOL.

I remember when Elvis first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show and most adults thought he'd be the ruination of American youth. Many parents thought the Beatles were a bad influence on young people. My prediction, Burrito, is that when I'm dead and gone and Adam's history is written, the AMA's will be laughed about the same way we laugh about Ed Sullivan showing Elvis from only the waist up. Just this week on Dancing with the Stars, they were quite casual about Chaz Bono and Carson Kressley in covering their backgrounds -- just no big deal. Times are changing -- and this was ABC for cryin' out loud. I have faith that Adam will be very successful in the very near future and the AMA's will just become part of his history. Just hope I'm around many more years to see his exciting future unfold. Mangokat!!!  I was scrolling through my phone today looking for a number and saw yours and was thinking about how I hadn't seen you forever. So glad you dropped by.  Hey, Susie! I'm here a lot, just usually in my lurk mode. Can't wait for new music and another tour so we can all see each other again! Good times!! |

Just let me say that the excuse he uses for his unacceptable behavior we have seen before on AI 8 and I thought it was exploitive then and I still do. |

Okay, here's my 66th post. (I'm shooting for 100 before I go to burrito oven). To the Canadians on this site, I lurve you. I'm sorry you're scorned. It was a Canadian actor who fueled my first obsessive, fannish behavior and had me trekking to Canada in the dead of winter (March to be exact and I did a 360 twice on an icy freeway and ended up in a ditch as a semi rolled past) to go to a book signing and movie premier. Dumb, dumb me. But even dumber was the next Canadian crush (a singer) who had me flying to Nova Scotia to see a concert, staying with fans I had never met before. Got stuck in Boston airport because Halifax was fogged in and had no way to contact said hostess/fan because I didn't know her last name! Finally arrived but luggage didn't and managed to hook up with said hostess/fan and began the most wonderful, joyful experience of my fannish life. Canadians are the most giving, kind, considerate people I've ever run across (not that I've run across a whole lot of people.  I even got interviewed by the local tv station. Ahhh, those were the days...my celebrity days. Still have to smile at the memory of a group of us driving by the hotel where the singer was staying (me with my head ducked down because I'm not a stalker!!!) LOL! I love my Canadian friends. You may be scorned by US sites but you're not scorned by me. Love you all. burritto....how can you tell such wonderful stories and not reveal the actor/singer names!! |
