The Kennedy Center held its 41st annual national celebration of the arts on December 2 and Lambert’s performance was among the highlights. In addition to Cher, the 2018 Honorees included composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton — writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire — received a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category. “The Kennedy Center Honors recognizes exceptional artists who have made enduring and indelible marks on our culture,” stated Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein. “The world looks to America for its creative instincts and artistic courage,” said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter. “This year’s slate of Honorees represents the pinnacle of our nation’s originality and the rich mosaic of diverse perspectives and art forms that has come to define who we are as a people.”

What a Full Circle Moment that Kennedy Center Honors broadcast was! Did you know it took 3605 days from the TV broadcast of the Hollywood Week round of American Idol Season 8 on FOX until today's CBS broadcast of that amazing "Believe" rendition? Of course you could have checked the recently updated version of the Circularity Chart, but it has always been a bit hard to navigate and understand, especially now with all those crossing arcs... Well, I have some great news for you all - look what I have been doing during the holidays: www.adamfullcircle.com/This is all Work In Progress, and is probably still full of errors and typos. If you find any, please DM me here. I will keep on adding content in the other half of my vacation... I also recently uncovered the longest Full Circle Moment arc of them all - from Adam's first Paula Abdul concert in 1992 to his San Francisco audition - a whopping 5853 days! That is slightly over 16 years for those of you keeping score.

While attending the 41st annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C., the “American Idol” alum paid tribute to the iconic musician with a powerful rendition of her song “Believe”. Backed by a full orchestra, Lambert belted out the hit dance track, transforming it into an emotional ballad, closing out the performance with one of his classic high notes. Not only did the 36-year-old receive a standing ovation from the audience at the Kennedy Center but brought the 72-year-old honouree to tears. Following Lambert’s tear-jerking take on the upbeat 1998 classic, Cher tweeted her love and admiration for the “If I Had You” hitmaker. The music icon got another surprise during the broadcast, with Cyndi Lauper performing “If I Could Turn Back Time”. Viewers noticed that Cher shouted to Lauper, “You told me you were going to Los Angeles!”. “I lied!” Lauper replied. Later in the show, Lauper and Lambert performed an amazing duet of Cher’s “I Got You Babe”. Check out Lambert’s powerful rendition of “Believe” above.
