I will never begrudge Adam his initial reaction to the ‘Gay Messiah’ meme that was thrust upon him in the beginning, too heavy a mantle for someone so young and at the start of his career. He has known HIS life and is still a young man finding his way in the world. I am more than willing to cut him some slack as far as understanding what his life may have been like without HIS family and outside of HIS comfort zone of SoCal/Hollywood. IMO he has never made important life choices lightly. He seems to weigh his options and live with them for a while before he chooses his path. He seems to have chosen to be fulfilled by his emerging role rather than letting himself be overwhelmed by it. A lesser man could drown under the pressure, but because he hasn’t made this choice impulsively I think he has thought about ways to wear this mantle well, without it sitting so heavily on his shoulders. I am proud of him and look forward to all aspects of his future. Well said... I think this gracious man has done extraordinarily well living in the limelight and under tremendous pressure from all sides. He is brave and beautiful. My heart was full of pride when he smilingly and lovingly held hands with Sauli on that red carpet event. Courage personified. How I love and respect him.  |

Alright call be silly or stupid or whatever, but out of all of the times that I've been on an airplane I've never actually saw anyone showing and public displays of affection besides holding hands, hugging or resting head on someone's shoulders etc.
Without knowing further details, I think this has to do with showing PDA as well as the ignorance that people have with gay/lesbian people, that they think that something such as kissing is indecent and (that it automatically will lead to something else, as in they view that kissing as more of a sexual act when it's being someone of the GLT as opposed to being someone straight), and that Cam and girlfriend might have gotten a little unruly in their justified anger.

And people wonder why 14 year olds are killing themselves? Adults say "Tell a teacher or an administrator". The problem is the reactions above are what kids know they may face if they tell an adult. When you aren't sure how the "adults" are going to react, what are you supposed to do?! In light of the recent suicides over the past year or so, (and the Gaga video I just watched) this kind of shit just pisses me off! >:( >:( |
