Obviously everyone has a different opinion and really it's just where your line is...but sometimes, just because you can doesn't mean you should...JMO. But true once they opened it to the public it was inevitable. And he really is a master of saying nothing. Just wondering...why shouldn't a fan attend a public event? What are the negatives here? It was an event that was made open to the public. I'm VERY uncomforble with the stalking behavior, such as sneaking into video shoots or sitting at Adam's table at a small show, but this was an event that had tickets for sale. Was anyone overstepping the boundaries? I can't believe that some people are being ugly to this woman who so kindly shared with us. What damn nerve! I hope she doesn't let a few nasty jealous fans discourage her from sharing in the future. >:(

hmm.....fans attend private event honoring his mother - then proceed to pic-stalk the guy and post/tweet private convos. Am I only one who finds this behavior objectionable? ??? It was my impression that the photos and videos were taken and shared by the organization, not the fans. I thought all they did was tweet? Julie tweeted out a few last night. But most of the ones we see now are offical photos. And soooooooooooo many!

I can't see any reason why a well-heeled fan shouldn't buy a ticket to a charity event honoring Adam. And even approach him if he was chatting with the attendees, and ask him polite questions about his work, and then let others know what he said.
In a few weeks I am going to attend a large charity event to raise money to help the victims of the Central Texas wildfires. I am just going to be an ordinary audience member, but those who can afford it can buy VIP tickets. They can hang out in the VIP Lounge, perhaps meet Willie Nelson and other headliners, bid on special items donated by the artists for a silent auction, etc. I can't see why someone in that position, if they met Willie, shouldn't ask him politely about his latest projects or events in his life, tweet pictures from the lounge, and even admit that they were so excited to meet him they couldn't breathe.
This doesn't at all seem to be similar to the incident in which fans stalked Adam around and tried to touch him at the party for Sutan's victory at RuPaul's Drag Race. At that event, the fans seemingly had nothing to say to Adam and nothing they wanted to hear from him, simply to follow him around and prevent him from engaging with and enjoying the event.
I guess I don't think there are any hard and fast rules here. Civilized behavior, courtesy, and good judgement are required, and the fans who attended the PFLAG event seem to have exercised all of those traits.

NoAngel posted this last night from one of the "fans." The two fans mentioned are not alone taking pix. Just take a look at the number of phones/cameras just in this one little shot. Of course we have no way of knowing the fans manners at the event (other than tweeting), but one of the reasons Adam and Leila are honored is his celebrity status. That is why they can charge $250. If the honorees were Joe and Jane from down the street, it would be a different event altogether. I would think picture taking, etc., are expected. I would guess there were "non-fans" who might have tweeted as well. But we don't know who they are and don't follow them. @kheiligkathy Heilig Adam speaking now yfrog.com/h0rr1hhj

Hi all! I'm ALMOST caught up - 5 pages to go and I'm bowled over by all the beauty of the last few days! Will comment more on that later. Just times 100 all the flailing & berting that is going on cause I have to make up for the time I missed! In the meantime: Statue of Freedy Mercury in Montreaux, Switzerland (Jazz capital of the world btw). FM spent his last days here. Would you believe that some in my group were asking "Who is Freddy Mercury?" Oh and an impulse buy in Innsbruck - (Don't judge me - I'm already going "What in the hell was I thinking?") Btw it's fake.

As someone who has attended and planned the type of event Adam and his mother attended last night, I have no reason at this time to believe the fans behaved inappropriately in any way. They were at a publicly-ticketed event which carries with it the implicit or explicit opportunity to mix and mingle with the celebrity. They identified themselves as fans, took pictures (as did everyone at the party judging by the barrage of flashbulbs going off), and had what appears to have been a light conversation. Therefore, I have no guilt in enjoying the accounts of their conversation with him or the photographs.
