[dum dee dum dum.... spamming away...] Before FYE came out, we got some little snippets of the songs. Like 20 or 30 seconds of each track. So, are we gonna get *anything* this time? Is it common for a lot of artists to leak the short "teasers" before their albums drop??? Yes, this is a common way to generate buzz for an upcoming release. Other things that are done include streaming the entire album online before it goes on sale, offering a free track, and so on. I do not think "typical" may not necessarily apply to how this album is released and promoted -- but I think we will get some music in advance of the on-sale date and more than the lead single and OOL. When you have good music -- the label almost always widely preview it. When you have a marginal effort and a popular artist -- the label usually just promotes the preview to die-hard fans who will buy it no matter what it is like. But there is always some kind of preview. At the least, media preview. I am sure some major artist has had a recent release without anyone hearing the music, just cannot think of anyone who has done that. |

Thanks Mia again. You don't know how glad I am that it is you who translates Sauli's blogs. Sauli language with all the funny nuances, slang and his own phrases is certainly not easy to translate. But you are doing it excellently. There are still however many cute and funny things that are impossible to translate - like "Justin Piipertäjät"  The "Justin Piipertäjä" joke was fun but it sure doesn't translate well. Doesn't stop me from trying, though: "Piipertäjä" is vocally close to Bieber, but the meaning of the word is "Squeaky" , or "something small and adorable that moves slowly", like a hamster. |
