don't usually catch up enough to post I like the photo. Adam looks like a rock star and I wish the other dude would move his arm so I could see the entire costume. As for me? I leaned the sideways hug early on. I was "developed" by the 6th grade 8-) so no poising pictures in my history.

IMHO tolerance and judgmentalism are multi-laned highways and it is just as judgmental to criticize someone for being 'right' of center as it is 'left' of center. There are a hell of a lot of 'pots' calling a lot of 'kettles' black here this morning.
ETA I realize that blunt statement makes me guilty of the same thing. I apologize....I deleted a bunch of what I said and .... I just wanted to say that i am getting uncomfortable with the discussion as it has been progressing but if others are not....carry on....I have a well used scroll button.

This will be an unpopular statement, but I don't believe Adam is wiser than most people because he has made some serious blunders, such as the AMA's. I think Adam just has balls of steel and doesn't give a fuck what people think. Sending that picture out on twitter is saying he's still going to let his freak flag fly and to hell with what anyone thinks about it. The only reason Adam is getting away with it is because he has an incredible voice and is gorgeous. Let's face it, we are a shallow lot and it took someone with a lot of attributes to break down the barriers most of us have for people who are different from us. Anyone else would not have gotten as far as he has, but on the flip side that bravery has held him back and will continue to do so. He's the first to start his career openly gay, but on top of that he pushes buttons and sometimes tries to do to much too soon, like the AMA's. Adam isn't perfect and isn't the wisest out there, but he is very intelligent and talented and I have no doubt that he will continue to break down barriers in the future even if pictures like he tweeted take him two steps back temporarily.

THIS. But I do disagree with the fact that pics like this will take him two steps back. Maybe in the eyes of bigots or people who aren't comfortable with his lifstyle, and if that's the case then Adam probably won't morurn them not being fans. (I mean come on, it's just a pic of him at a club. POSING! He's not giving the guy a blow job or anything! Jeebus! lol) YMMV.

Do you know how many rock stars I have seen come and go and come back again. Apparently, you don't see the potential I see in Adam. Already he has changed the world to some extent. I don't want him to change his character, his personality or his beliefs. I just want to be there when he grows into his adult life. I think he has he potential to change attitudes in this country and change those sterotypes of the community that he loves. I want him to appeal to all people everywhere. I hate the horrible comments I hear from people who have no idea what the LGBT community is about. There are people out there in this country who have never had a friendship with a gay person. I want that to change. The more accurate role models we have from the LGBT community, the quicker the laws will change. I guess I am putting too much on Adam. But I see him as that man who is intelligent and articulate enough to change people's minds about stereotypes.
Once we change in America, the rest of the world will follow. You do realize that in some countries LGBT communities do not exist because they kill anyone who might be gay. Iran, according to its president, has no gay people at all. Gee I wonder where they are.
I obviously did not make myself clear at all when I questioned what that picture portrayed to the new love of Adam's life. That was really my only thought at the time. This website sure knows how to spread one question into trolls, sluts, puritans, obsessions, bigots, etc. God, I have such power for a little old lady. Of course the person who will one day have real power is Adam if he can successfully move his career in the direction he wants. I have every confidence that he is here to change us all. That includes the Westboro church people too.
By the way, I think that picture of both men is hot and sexy too. I just wish Sauli was in it.

It's not Adam's obligation to adjust to the comfort level of anyone who might see a picture of him or attend a performance. For one thing, it would be impossible to please everyone. For another, Adam has to be free to be himself without regard for any reaction he might elicit. In the wise words of Rick Nelson, "You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself."

But in your post about 20s and 30s tis is exactly what you said.
^^ If you are waiting for that, you have a very long wait. That will never happen.
Suggesting that Adam should be doing certain things because he is almost 30 is no different than the reporters who call ladies of a certain age, "Gliter cows." There is no right way to be 30, anymore than there is a right way to be 60.

I think you were pretty clear, and I think the majority of ppl were pretty clear in their responses. Basically I see it breaking down to this...
It's just a picture. Pictures don't tell the whole story so do not jump to conclusions and we will all live happily ever after. The end.
Can we talk about something else? Here..I'll throw out a topic....
Grape Nuts contains neither grapes not nuts. DISCUSS.

This photo is no different than countless others we've seen of Adam and his friends clubbing. Not sure how it could possibly set him two steps back at this point.
