Frankly, I think without new music, some fans are bored. Which makes some people cranky and often leads to stirring up trouble. Remember there was an enormous wait between the end of the first DonorsChoose contest and the promised chat? Waiting for what seems like forever for promised rewards is nothing new, it's just that right now with Adam all nose to the grindstone in the studio or working on the promo plans, we don't have anything to distract us.
ETA: I mean, it seems like people want a Day Manager less for Adam and more so they have someone to complain to about THEIR needs. That was never Lane's role, altho she did step in on occasion. I really hope this fandom isn't letting the between-eras drought edge us into entitlement, as a fandom I thought in the past we were doing really well nipping that in the bud. It's an unfortunate road that leads to claymate town, which I have NO desire to go to.

So why doesn't someone contact Eber and let him know the frustration. Then we have a direct link to Adam?? Oh gosh! I hope no one does that. I don't think Eber is involved in anyway with Adam's career other than to be a supportive Dad. All Adam needs is, like Susie said, a day to day manager (like Lane.) I'm sure there are people all over LA, with the right requirements, looking for those kinds of jobs. DMG just needs to either hire or assign one. In my haste I read 'assign me'

Whatfun, I agree that downtimes sometimes leads to fretting and speculation. What we're seeing now is barely-contained impatience, and since we have no idea what is coming, some fans fill in the blanks and begin to worry harder.
It's the difference between being an invested fan and a casual fan. The latter is calmly going about their business, and will happily buy the album when it comes out. The former is on Twitter and fan sites, dissecting every minute detail of info we can find.
Thing is, there is ample evidence that things are moving along nicely with the album. Photoshoot is done, Adam has been in the production stage of recording, etc. Now we're waiting for promo to kick into gear.
I agree that there's no need to contact Adam's family about fan concerns. It's not their role.

Not as articulate as I could have wished, but I tried to keep it (reasonably) brief while giving info: Discussion title: This is phony! Adam's real album is going to be 'epic'.This is being released without the approval or even the knowledge of either artist.
From Twitter; adamlambert Adam Lambert 'Beg For Mercy project is same as 'Take One'. some songs I worked on 5 yrs ago and never finished. This release comes as a surprise to me... It is NOT what I'm currently working on, nor does it reflect my artistic vision. Some folks will do anything to make a buck.'
From Facebook Steve Cooke 'so I got a call just now that a double album is out on the market for pre sales featuring Adam Lambert and my good self...so..ehmm..thanks for telling me..Label...so..ehmm..I guess Im on a B side then. (link removed). Produced by Robert Cutarella and Malcolm Malcolm Welsford. You'd better all go out there now and leave a LOT of positive comments for me. Has anyone got Adams phone number? We need to compare contracts.'
This is the second time this producer (an old 'friend' of Adam's) has muddied the waters just prior to an official release, to profit from the arising confusion.
Adam's new album according the back-room buzz: 'the rumors amongst the bigwigs is that its epic'. Please wait for it.It's out there on Amazon UK now, all alone . Any one like to go give it some support. You're usually all very eloquent

I just don't want a possible opportunity to slip by for Adam that will keep him in the public eye while waiting for his album and help with promoting it when it does drop. I would hate to think Adam might lose a good promotion opportunity because people can't connect with his management team.

It's an unfortunate road that leads to claymate town, which I have NO desire to go to. Whoa. Evoking the Claymate meme to a completely unrelated discussion? Every single discussion has been more about how this reflects on Adam's reputation and online presence, not what anyone is expecting from him. IF a FEW people from ALF were confused and wanting more contact, well, whatever, that was probably an airing of the grievances due to their frustration. They have a valid question. No one here has demanded anything of Adam, but we have worried that a lack of online professionalism will reflect badly on him. The thought that pre-rollout he doesn't need day-to-day assistance is LUDICROUS. THIS is when he needs it more than ever. All the shit that's happening right now is behind the scenes. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg and that is already indicating some erosion that is embarrassing from a professional standpoint. I'm sorry. It is. And the rationalization that he can't take his finger out of the dike long enough to find someone to fix it is ridiculous. Juniemoon, I totally agree with your post, but I wanted to add. I know two of the people who won the Grammy contest in March and their prize of a Twitter chat never happened. They were supposed to have the chance to DM him ONE question. One. It was set up, then canceled. Then put off and put off and then after a while, their questions about when it was going to happen were just ignored. Now, it's somewhere in the ether with everyone's charity:water pics, I guess.

But I think he is being completely honest that he is working his butt off, and there's simply no time for any promotional opportunity right now that he doesn't already have set down in his no doubt tightly scheduled days. I agree with NoAngel, that invested (not casual) fan enthusiasm + Adam bizzy with creating/planning = invested fan impatience. And we see the result in some of the angst spirals that happen from time to time, that's natural. I just hope it stops short of fans getting so hyped up they try to backseat drive his career. That just never ends well.

NoAngel, while I'm sure you didn't mean this to literally be quite so cut and dried, I consider myself an invested fan, but fall somewhere between your description of casual and invested. I'm not going anywhere, no matter what happens, but I'm pretty casual about time frame, management and AO/ALF stuff. Maybe I'm casually invested? idk I think there are many like me. I also think we can add the over-invested fan to that list. :

This is old news, has been in the works for a while. Sony is consolidating and trimming Arista, Jive and J Records artists are being folded in to the remaining Sony labels. All part of the shake up that has been in the works for the last year. All these separate labels create an enormous duplication of effort and the current music industry economy cannot sustain that so labels are being folded back in to parent divisions and departments are being centralized and downsized. It's confusing now but will likely results in more efficiency later. There was a report a while back from a radio promo guy who said that actually having more centralized promo with radio was a plus because when they go in to meetings with PD's they have a wider range of product to show which is more cost effective for the labels in the long run.
