OK - here is a the crazy optimist idea for what is happening with DMG. Maybe they are putting every bit of their time & attention on the roll out. THe Fan Club and Pennyroyal are both far less important (remember, DMG is a relatively small business - only so many employees with only so much time available) I am constantly telling my son he needs to work on him time managent and prioritizing what gets done first (He is 12, so I'm trying to get him to get his backpack ready for school rather than stopping to say good morning and pet all 5 cats!) If the single rollout is coming up soon, then DMG's "to do" list has more on it than can be handled all at once. If something is going to slide for a month or 2, the Fan Club and Pennyroyal are things that can slide without too much damage.

At one time I was midly concerned about RCA. I never thought they were screwing Adam over, I'm not in that camp. I was just concerned about the reorganiztion and how it would effect all their artists. But watching the rollouts of Kelly and Daughtry make me think they've got it all together. And, until last night, I was saying SusieFierce's reassurances in my head over and over, "We don't know what is going on behind the scenes. DMG may be planning a ton of promo and we just haven't seen it yet." But after the message from ALF site, I am concerned about DMG. If the fanclub can't get a contact person. And Tim, who has worked with Adam in the past, has not found a contact person there?? Well... ya, DMG is the big question mark in my mind too. :-/ Here's my thoughts on this. I too concerned am about DMG, though I think that Steve Jensen and Martin Kirkup are working on the larger bookings, which is great, but Adam needs a day-to-day manager. He doesn't seem to have a Lane right now and that is becoming glaringly obvious with this kind of stuff. ALF may not be a priority at the moment, but it has Adam's name on it and is representative of his brand. Letting it go on autopilot is just bad business no matter how you look at it. Especially because you have asked people to pay money to join and then you can't even give them the most basic information? Big fail. AO is the primary contact for Adam's brand and it is also on autopilot right now as well. Those are details you just can't let slide in such a crucial time as this. Sure, in their mind, perhaps neither is a priority at the moment, but still, that's why you delegate the details to someone else. He needs a day manager, stat. And if he has one, they need to step it up and deal with some of these more menial details.

I'm going to focus on the positive today. I don't have enough spare emotional capital to deal with the 2 fake albums drama. I'm convinced Adam's (real) album has had positive feedback from Radio 1 in the UK from the tweeds above and the mention the other day on the Breakfast show. The producer of that show (who you hear in the clip saying about Adam Garcia) is on the committee who decides the playlist for the station. Zane Lowe has an evening show that is the most influential for premiering new music for the more trendy, underground breaking-through acts. But if you are launching a pop single the Chris Moyles breakfast show is the best place. Chris Moyles and his team are the longest running breakfast show team in Radio 1. They definitely play the corporate game. If it was on any other show Adam had been mentioned or if Chris hadn't referred to "popular culture" I wouldn't be as convinced. What mention on the Breakfast Show are you talking about? I must have missed that. The only thing I saw was the Chart Show Interview with Kelly. Do you have more details on this Breakfast Show thing?

I just can't see Adam letting DMG mess up the album rollout. Adam is an excellent communicator and I'm certain DMG knows exactly what he wants.
PJD, I think you are right about other things being put on the back burner for now. I think that's why the charity:water pic thing hasn't been wrapped up yet, it isn't a priority. Since I'm one of many still waiting I just hope they don't forget about it.

Lest you think I’m not thrilled and happy for Adam let me quote Craazyforadam first: BUUUUZZZZZZ! THIS ALBUM WILL BE GREAT - and TOP 40 RELEVANT. BUZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But sometimes, egoistically, I feel we are going to lose some of our trailblazing uniqueness and sense of purpose when everybody jumps on the bandwagon… hence this message:
When the new album comes out and it’s such a cosmic success that all our flailing and hoping and loving and supporting will recede into a tiny speck that can hardly be discerned across the deep intergalactic distance, we must be brave my friends, and take courage from the fact that even though now we are no longer the torchbearers of the awfulness of our beloved, still we were there from the start, we were there when it counted !!

And in this day and age, I want to add, it is unforgvable and stoopid to not keep your client's on-line sites up to date.

That's like me saying, "I have this huge project to put out, so I can't be bothered with proofreading the collateral materials." Yeah, you can and that's the kind of thing that becomes the banana peel that can bring a huge effort down – a lack of attention to detail. The biggest, glossiest, most expensive magazine in the world will lose credibility if it has a single typo in the copy. The greatest movie evah risks becoming a laughingstock if it had one jump-cut in the editing or a glaring continuity error. I am sure you are right that it's a matter of prioritizing at the moment, but they cannot just shunt things like Adam's websites aside with no mention of them. Take them offline and put up an "Under Construction" landing page or have Adam tweet, "We're working on these things, they'll be ramped up in no time!!!" Even if they're NOT working on them, it still addresses the issue and buys time. And sorry, not returning calls of established colleagues who are only working on his behalf is just bad business; I don't care how you couch it.

Did you by chance mean "awesomeness" instead of "awfulness", hmmm?
