I don't know enough to have an opinion. However, if something's going to be discussed, I'm for putting all the info on the table so to speak. Yep. I mean when we are here to support Adam and trying to figure out what is benefiting him and what is stabbing him the back is a crucial detail in all of that. My thoughts: If the release was supposed to be all above-board, etc. Why the hell didn't they release it any time in the last 2.5 years call it The Citizen Vein? Great, Adam would get songwriting royalties and it would not be muddying his upcoming album. THAT part is clearly calculated and a flagrant attempt to ride the coattails of Adam2 (and not to mention, potentially causing major damage to the sales numbers). Also, to put Adam's tweets on the website as a direct ruse to get people to think he is talking about that album is disgusting. Will reserve making judgment about "other people's involvement," but having a very difficult time rationalizing some things. :-/

For those asking where the fans picked up the "blame Monte" thing... While I'm polishing my rifle for the firing squad, anyway, here are some reasons: 1) Monte thanked Malcolm Westford in his liner notes, which means that he has/had a professional relationship with him, after the Take One shit that Monte knew of, and knew how Adam felt about. (the last argument only proves that he is a douche if nothing else) 2) His wife's infamous twitter rant about Adam being "his majesty" and forgetting and not supporting his old friends. On hindsight it's easy to imagine the issue being Adam sitting on the publishing rights of his and Monte's old material. (and anyone who thinks that she didn't mean adam is in serious denial.) 3) Neil's passive aggressive tweet 4) A quite reliable fan account on the fan talking with Monte about the release before it got out the open, proving that Monte knew about it (though it's not sure if it was the Beg For Mercy of the Other Bastard they were talking about) And, because I feel like it, some more "evidence" that is too shoddy to be counted as such: 5) Monte tweeting an obscure tweet about bullshit instead of defending himself. 6) This same material has been tried to publish before, first in Take One, and then as the short lived Take Two. Now it looks like the material is actually going to be published. So, something changed since Take 1 and 2. And it wasn't Adam's mind. This time, someone signed something to make the publishing possible. Yep, I think you got it!

This whole Bastard Album II keeps reminding me of a story CindyM told on PF that broke my heart. It still gets me to this day ... She talked about how her brother got her Take One for Christmas. Of course, he had no idea of the background and he was so excited that he found this early album of Adam's for her. She didn't have the heart to tell him the back story at the time. (I hope I'm remembering that correctly, Cindy, if you're lurking.) It was just so sweet that he thought he found something really special for her and it was the bastard album.

Here's a very pretty drawing by @dolusglitz ... In that beanie shot it looks like the silver earring could be a cuff and there are no other piercings. Soooo ear wrap in the earlier pics?

Any chance that Adam may be taking Madonna's advice to heart? Keep your eye on the prize, and put your blinders on. Meaning, keep your focus on your own awesome album and single, and turn over this other sh!t to the management and the lawyers. It's what you pay them for.
I sure hope so. I hope he is not fuming and persevering about this for hours. Might it help if fans followed his positive philosophy and tweeted excited, supportive thoughts about the soon to be released single? And the edgy haircut? Well, maybe that second one is taking things a little too far.

I hope Adam and Monte's friendship, however deep/not deep it is, remains in tact - they go back, they've travelled the world together, Monte introduced Adam to Madonna - , etc. Seems they already managed one bump (whatever exactly it was his wife's tweets were about). I think Adam's a good judge of character, and I find it hard to believe his friend, former band-mate, former guitarist and music director would really deliberately do anything to interfere with Adam's second album launch - that doesn't ring "likely," to me. Here's the thing. Monte lives with his wife, and if she is negative about Adam and pushing him (Monte) to develop his own income stream I can see where over time Monte's feelings could be influenced. Lord knows it's hard enough to live with an unhappy wife and if push comes to shove I see no reason why Monte would not choose his own family if only to keep the peace at home. Not that I think that is the case, or is going to be. But I know my own husband well enough to know what buttons to push should I ever desire to change his opinion about something, and presumably Lisa knows Monte's. She undoubtedly carries influence in his thought processes, and after her little Twitter party I seriously distrust her. I give the benefit of the doubt to Monte based on his and Adam's history, but honestly, if his wife is as bitter as she came off on Twitter it would be crazy for me not to suspect her of trying to influence him in an anti-Adam direction. Dunno what I am getting at really, except to note that Lisa is likely more influential to Monte than anyone else and if she has been subtly planting seeds in his brain they could easily have sprouted something. And I don't like or trust Lisa.
