As shocking as you might find it Monte has put Me in a bad mood. ;D So unless We get a different comment from Adam then what He has tweeted I'm going with that fact that Adam does not approve of these. @adamlambert Beg For Mercy project is same as 'Take One'. some songs I worked on 5 yrs ago and never finished. This release comes as a surprise to me...
@adamlambert It is NOT what I'm currently working on, nor does it reflect my artistic vision. Some folks will do anything to make a buck. Fuck.Agree! When Adam feels differently about this album, so will I. The fact still remains that these people have chosen, twice now, to release these albums when Adam's real single and album are coming out. They are using Adam's promo, for a free ride. Sure, it is smart of them, but it is unethical, IMO. And that web site, using Adam's tweets, goes beyond unethical. And as far as Take One not taking away sales from FYE, I'd have to disagree. It probably didn't steal 100,000 in sales but my Target had Take One under Best Sellers and FYE under Lambert for months! >:( Someone else said their local Target was the same. Multiply it by 100s of stores and we are probably talking about at least a couple thousands in sales. The thing is, It's Just Not Right! It goes against everything I think of as ethical behavior! I can not support it in any way.

these are my final 2 cents for today. I am not a BSC fan, I don't tweet out to all and sundry on Adam's behalf, etc. I am aware there is a minority that steps over the line. I'm willing to bet that the same is true in all fandoms. I get weary though of hearing that Adam's fans are going to ruin his chances in the business. That if we aren't all good boys and girls peeps aren't going to work with him. I think it is BS and is just used as a way to try and control us. I also find the Claymate meme extremely offensive.
Once again, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I personally enjoy the opportunity to hear other perspectives. I do not like references to "mob mentality" when opinions differ.
Today was the first time in a very long while that I was here for the better part of the day. Sadly, when things became a bit heated I didn't see much glitter.
Maybe tomorrow we will remember what we all have in common.

It is a big deal because Adam expressed very clearly that he did not want it to happen. He specifically tweeted that he sees it as someone "do(ing) anything to make a buck," and at least IMO sounds extremely frustrated at this continued riding on his coattails. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that. Whether or not it's legally permissable or even if Adam recieves money for it is irrelevent to me. To me, the only thing that makes it a big deal (and to me this is a big deal) is the timing, the sliming and the subterfuge.

I don't know enough to have an opinion. However, if something's going to be discussed, I'm for putting all the info on the table so to speak. Yep. I mean when we are here to support Adam and trying to figure out what is benefiting him and what is stabbing him the back is a crucial detail in all of that. My thoughts: If the release was supposed to be all above-board, etc. Why the hell didn't they release it any time in the last 2.5 years call it The Citizen Vein? Great, Adam would get songwriting royalties and it would not be muddying his upcoming album. THAT part is clearly calculated and a flagrant attempt to ride the coattails of Adam2 (and not to mention, potentially causing major damage to the sales numbers). Also, to put Adam's tweets on the website as a direct ruse to get people to think he is talking about that album is disgusting. Will reserve making judgment about "other people's involvement," but having a very difficult time rationalizing some things. :-/ ITA WITH THIS! - Also, to put Adam's tweets on the website as a direct ruse to get people to think he is talking about that album is disgusting. >:( >:( >:(

and changing wikipedia pages with hateful stuff Once again, the deletion of Steve Cooke's page was NOT done by Adam fans but was a part of the normal process of Wiki editors making sure all entries follow the rules. You can actually see that process was started before Adam tweeted about this whole thing. And you can actually see who recommended the page for deletion and who confirmed it, and you can see by their past activity that they are NOT glamberts.

But when we do more than expressing our opinion here, when we start harassing Adam's friends on twitter, and changing wikipedia pages with hateful stuff, it makes me sad, because I am part of this fandom too and it reflects badly on me, too. It makes me not proud to call myself an Adam fan, because I don't want "Adam fans" to be known as crazy people over-protective of Adam. I'm not aware of anyone "here" who is harrassing people on Twitter or changing Wiki pages, so I don't see this "we" you're referring to. IMO everyone is only in control of and responsible for their own behavior. I can't control what the whole fandom does, and while some things make me shake my head, what can I do about that? My focus is Adam and I'll continue to support Adam. And yes, I trust Adam completely and believe that he is an adult and fully capable of handling his own affairs. It's not my role to be his mommy. However, as a fan I have my own opinion about things and I try to express them as best I can within the limits of written communication, as do we all. Every fandom has its crazies. Every fandom has people who are OTT. It's just a fact of life. I try not to be one of them, and that's all I can do.

If it's any consolation lifetraveler, it's been pointed out on this board that no fan is attacking anyone's wiki page.
Also, I myself look at ALL of someone's @ replies and discount the obvious troll accounts before assuming fans are attacking. Usually I see a lot more support than anything else. It's kinda heartening that most fans really do use forums and tweeting among themselves to hash out confusing things first.
ETA: oops, I see I'm late on the first point, sorry to belabor it.
