I'm hungry now. Want a burrito. Well, you should have been at my house today. We had a ten-layer dip and cheese dip that put my burrito to shame. :-[ But my famous home-made steakfingers and gravy put even those to shame. I know Adam likes burritos and I think he might even like my steakfingers but the gravy might be a bit much. OK, I'll bite. Steak fingers and gravy??? Sounds devine - what is it?? Is it as good as Taco Bell?

Thanks for posting the link to this article, mys*&@^#r. I've been catching up all night on yesterday's and today's threads. Whew! I don't mean to derail the discussion (I'm trying very hard, and it is hard, to withhold judgment until Monte's official statement), so feel free to scroll, but a comment in that article struck me. The interviewer asked about RCA's "impressive rock roster" and Tom Corson, RCA's new president and COO, responded: "We're lucky we have a bunch of superstars--Dave Grohl and Foos, Kings, Strokes and Ray LaMontagne--and through the Jive side, we have Three Days Grace and Cage the Elephant. We're heavily invested in rock." One of these things is not like the other. I love his music, but I'm just wondering, in what universe is Ray LaMontagne considered rock? I mean, his CD God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise won a Grammy this year for Best Contemporary FOLK Album. I actually think his sound is a wonderful mixture of many different styles and genres. But do these executives even know their artists, their roster? Also, when Ray turned in his completed album (he was also the producer) last year, the suits at RCA didn't like it. The A&R guys (and Corson was one of them) asked him to return to the studio and record something else. They told him they didn't hear a single worth promoting. They told him to go back and give them a single. Ray refused. He believed in the material and thought it was some of the best work he'd ever done. He stood his ground and pretty much dared them to drop him. He told them to just pick a single and get behind it as much as they could. They selected "Beg Steal or Borrow." It earned a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. All that to say, label A&R executives often make me very nervous! They didn't hear any potential in Ray's album. They get paid millions and sometimes don't seem to know what the hell they're doing. The fact that so many different voices have said that Adam's album is "phenomenal" and there's so much positive buzz all around from people in the trenches who are actually working on it makes me breathe easier because I don't really trust RCA to know when it's good or when it's ready or what Adam's fans want or even what radio wants, for that matter. I hope Adam listens to Eber and goes with his gut and stands his own ground to whatever extent that he can. And I'm glad that Adam seems to have his own unofficial A&R team of trusted creative people around him. I trust Adam (some of his music recommendations notwithstanding : ) to know what suits him best musically and I was really heartened when he said in that interview with Heidi that he's listened to his new songs a million times to see if he still loves them or to see if he finds something he doesn't like. He's really lived with this music and has had time to make changes, reinterpret, and to explore all the possibilites of where he can go with it live and recorded. I'm excited! I'm also very excited about the photoshoot, shaved head and all! Now they have some artwork to choose from for the single cover. I just have this feeling that we'll finally hear the single the week of October 31. I can't wait to hear Adam's version of Uh Huh Her's "Dreamer." It's a beautiful song. If anyone in the Atlanta area is interested in going to their concert here in a couple of weeks, please let me know. By the way, I heard a "Someone Like You" remix on the radio last night. I love the original, but I never needed nor expected to hear a dance version! Totally changed the emotional vibe of the song. I guess they'll remix anything these days. Please, Terrance, bring on the birthday party pics!!

It is a big deal because Adam expressed very clearly that he did not want it to happen. He specifically tweeted that he sees it as someone "do(ing) anything to make a buck," and at least IMO sounds extremely frustrated at this continued riding on his coattails. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that. Whether or not it's legally permissable or even if Adam recieves money for it is irrelevent to me. We've already heard from two members here who received Take One cd's from well meaning people who came across an Adam lambert CD at the store and thought it was a legitimate Adam album. My guess would be that the magority of the 100,00 copies sold were to unsuspecting casual buyers. How would they know any different? The die hard fans knew Adam didn't want us to buy it. A big concern is the fact that we now know this guy has the ability to get his albums stocked at the big chains, often being the only AL product available. I remember how many people were furious that their own store went months w/out FYE on the shelves during the holiday season. So is that going to happen again? Adam's album won't be out but will this new one will be sitting on the shelves for holiday shoppers? How did he manage to keep Take one stocked in the now tiny space available for cds for years? Did this confuse retailers as well as buyers? Is that why so many stores only had Take One? I have no idea, but if there is even a question about any of it, I think Adam and RCA are right to be concerned and frustrated. The timing couldn't be worse. I cannot find any connection between the release of Beg for Mercy and Rufftown Records who released Take One. Rufftown Records has distribution set up but Beg for Mercy is being released by a company that was just set up by Malcolm Welsford and I assume Michael Burtscher who co-produced the album with Malcolm. In fact they are suing Rufftown Records so they may get retail distribution but I would be surprised if it was thru Rufftown. Take One was distributed by a company owned by Rufftown -- Central South Distribution, Inc., which has been the number one independent faith based record distributor in the world for the past decade. They have a partnership with Lataillade Entertainment, headed by contemporary gospel label / publishing / marketing guru Vicki Mack-Lataillade and her husband, Claude Lataillade, and Grammy® nominated songwriter / producer Rene Moore, head of Ruff Town Entertainment Group. www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=48735645687&topic=8973I am still not convinced this album will even be released but if it is, I am not sure they have a distribution deal.

Okay, seriously, steak in a cylinder shape rolled in a batter of flour, egg and milk, deep fried. Gravy is...well, gravy. You know flour in a little bit of grease (lard) heated up then add milk/water mixture. Okay, I am not a top chef or the next food network star, but I do know how to make steakfingers and gravy but to keep it on topic, not something I'd serve to Adam because it's not a bit healthy!!!!

Heh heh. I had a houseful today for the OU game (yay Sooners!) and amidst the bedlam I had my laptop open checking Atop and a very special 3 year old was sitting beside me watching me scroll the pics and Gifs of Adam on this board and asked, "who is that?" and I said, "Adam" to which he immediately replied, "Adam Lambert?" Imagine my shock. A 3 yr old who knows Adam Lambert? Or rather knows that Lambert goes with Adam??? Naturally I had to quiz his mom about how he knew Adam Lambert and she gave me some explanation about how they'd discussed him just the day before but I truly can't remember the specifics because I am to this minute still shocked that this very smart, very special 3 year old could put "Adam" and "Lambert" together. Since then we've sung "I've got the moves like Jagger" together a dozen times, but I'm still reveling in the bliss of him knowing Adam Lambert and telling me he loves him too. Ahhh, these little moments. Oh, and the pic of some little reptile clutched between someone's fingers still has us puzzled as to what that reptile is. He's asleep and I'm soaked so we're not stressing over it and tomorrow it'll be forgotten but I just wanted to share. Oh, and all this hoopla over Monte and the bastard album, I can't get my panties in a twist over it. I've got bigger problems. Cute story, burrito - but, eh - Move Like Jagger is Adam Levine You're gonna feel so silly in the A.M. Just sayin'

Babysitting 2 teenage boys this evening. Or actually trying to give them space, and keeping a watchful eye. So much fun to listen to them talk, without them knowing about it, It's amazing what comes out of their mouth. Absolutely no filters. Adam, I do believe has learned how to filter, but many of us have not. I guess it comes with age. We go thru our unfiltered period, then try to be generally PC, and then say, WTF, I can have an opinion, and I will let it be known. I can see this was an exasperating day for many. But Adam always falls in shite and comes out smelling like a rose. Ha, ha! When I would drive my kids someplace and they were all in my car they would tlak to each other like I wasn't even there! It was so funny! I found out more about what was going on by being their chauffeur!
