Heh heh. I had a houseful today for the OU game (yay Sooners!) and amidst the bedlam I had my laptop open checking Atop and a very special 3 year old was sitting beside me watching me scroll the pics and Gifs of Adam on this board and asked, "who is that?" and I said, "Adam" to which he immediately replied, "Adam Lambert?" Imagine my shock. A 3 yr old who knows Adam Lambert? Or rather knows that Lambert goes with Adam??? Naturally I had to quiz his mom about how he knew Adam Lambert and she gave me some explanation about how they'd discussed him just the day before but I truly can't remember the specifics because I am to this minute still shocked that this very smart, very special 3 year old could put "Adam" and "Lambert" together. Since then we've sung "I've got the moves like Jagger" together a dozen times, but I'm still reveling in the bliss of him knowing Adam Lambert and telling me he loves him too. Ahhh, these little moments.  Oh, and the pic of some little reptile clutched between someone's fingers still has us puzzled as to what that reptile is. He's asleep and I'm soaked so we're not stressing over it and tomorrow it'll be forgotten but I just wanted to share. Oh, and all this hoopla over Monte and the bastard album, I can't get my panties in a twist over it. I've got bigger problems. Cute story, burrito - but, eh - Move Like Jagger is Adam Levine You're gonna feel so silly in the A.M. Just sayin'  Ha! I know it's not Adam Lambert's song but it's the one my special 3 yr old likes to sing right now so that's why we sang it. Try telling a 3 year old it's the wrong Adam. |

Well I know an Adam that COULD move like Jagger and it is not the one singing about it!
At age 3 that discussion may be a bit over his head, but sounds like he has a closeted Adam-fan-mommy, doesn't it? No way a 3 year old picked up the name and knew to cross-reference it correctly to a picture, if it was only 'casually mentioned just the day before'.
You may want to bring this up with her again when you see her without tons of people around her and tell her that you are a fan too, perhaps she opens up.

Misha, I love your whole post. And yes, I also sometimes wonder about the music execs, especially when I see the singles that are chosen. Kris Allen's 2nd one comes to mind, or Allison's. I like the young producers Adam has worked with though, this time. I hope Adam has a lot of input on what his first single will be. I completely trust his musical instincts.

ITA -- once Adam announces his new music it will all be fine.
Regarding the Take One gift comments -- I have no doubt that many were bought as gifts -- in every case I've heard about, TO was purchased by a non-fan for an Adam who they knew already owned FYE. So it seems like this would have cost some sales of winter gloves and Adam tee shirts but not FYE. Thus I am not convinced that this activity was cannibalizing FYE sales in any major way.
And there are many Adam fans who want complete Adam collections and bought it. There are threads about it on some forums.
If Adam and his team is convinced that the release of this album will cost Adam/RCA/19R significant sales or Adam is really convinced that it will damage his personal brand/artistic integrity, they will do what is needed to keep it off the market. Pretty sure that RCA and 19 will have lawyers all over this and have the capacity to stop it even if there is a valid recording contract.
What puzzles me is why didn't they release this in January 2009? Lee DeWyze released an indie album on January 10, 2010 at the beginning of his Idol season. I think this would have been really helpful to Adam because it would have proven he was interested and working on a recording career and countered this "he acting" and really too "theatrical" claim.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, the buzz for Adam's new music is so good and everyone near the project so pumped, that I am convinced it would take a dozen old albums to make a small dent.

That is puzzling and one of the questions of the day.... Why now? What happened recently to suddenly make it OK to release these songs? During Idol would have been the perfect time. Adam had so much buzz. I would have bought it, for sure!
(Taylor Hicks also had an album for sale during Idol. It was only available through a small record store in BHam. But all of Taylor's fans bought it.)

You are not serious, right? And does Sauli not exist for these delusional shippers? ??? Humor. I'm not doing it right. I have a serious question, though. As long as Adam loves Sauli, does it matter what crazy fans think? Oh man, I got called away by RL right after I posted that, and just saw this. No, of course I was not serious. Of COURSE when I said "DO go on!", I was having fun. Msrmyn, I guess I'm not doing it right either. And your question is spot on -- why does anyone care what crazy fans think, if Adam is happy. ADAM was the one who tweeted those things, CLEARLY looking to stir things up a bit, imo. One thing has been bothering me since I posted those things though, and I want to be clear. I am NOT wishing any ill will towards Adam's real life relationship. If he is happy, I would not want to change that in any way, not that I could! I just find the Adam/Tommy flirting -- and it IS (no doubt innocent) flirting on some level, whether to provoke a reaction or not -- fun and hot. Edited to be clearer-er. |

okay, I've got a serious problem. My text is now half the size it normally is and I just did a system restore and it didn't fix it! Disclaimer. I'm soaked. How the heck can I get it back to normal size??? It happened while I was posting a reply so I'm posting another reply trying to reverse what I did and it's still not working. Damn it all to heck.
