I feel like *I* am going to explode with all this waiting! I'm thinking because the album changed direction that a lot of tracks have been made but won't make the album. My greatest hope at this moment is that at some point we can get ALL of the songs, not just the ones that made the cut for the new style. Is it too much to hope for? Me too! I am actually hoping that the Ryan Tedder one didn't make the album! Also, hoping he releases a follow up album, maybe around Christmas of next year of "B" sides or reworked songs, like Gaga, KESHA, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have done!

It was clearly a dodge and Max has not been mentioned by anyone for months -- only at the odd awards ceremony when Adam and Kesha gave the awards to Max and Dr. Luke. Me thinks that Max is a tough cookie to deal with. He likes to be in control and so does Adam. So there might have been a conflict I agree, smokey, PLUS at first Adam said he was going to be working with Max but that was very early on in the album process (maybe April?) and the direction of the album has taken several turns since then, it seems, so maybe Adam decided the WWFM and IIHY, i.e., Max Martin type songs were no longer part of his vision?? IDK; just rambling, but as Q3 said, he was clearly dodging the question - I believe he probably knew the tweeter was asking about working with Max on #2, but, he chose to answer it anyway, even if he dodged it a bit, so I think perhaps that was his way of telling us he did not work with Max on #2. :-/ In fact, and this is JMHO, when Adam was asked early on about what types of songs would be on the new album (can't remember the interview), he mentioned WWFM and IIHY and even said something along the lines of "they were successful, so if it's not broke, don't fix it" - or something like that and when he said this, it just seemed to me that he wasn't very excited, but that was just my initial reaction. YMMV

So there might have been a conflict Well, if you listen to P!NK's WWFM and Adam's they are identical, same backing track even. I think for Max it is "My way or the highway" and Adam wanted more creative control this time. Not so sure about that. Adam said that WWFM was recorded in a rush while being on tour so he couldn't discuss it more with Max Martin. He just sang it the way it was. But he DID say at ASCAP Awards that he probably will work with him the next month or two (at that time) so probably it didn't happen for other reasons. Maybe Adam has gone with changes on the way he wanted the album to sound like.

I interpret it as no Max Martin on album 2. Since we haven't heard about any meetings, seems like a good possibility. But it is also strange since Max produced his 2 hits. Maybe Adam didn't like Max's "iron hand" way of producing. Maybe Max wasn't available? It was clearly a dodge and Max has not been mentioned by anyone for months -- only at the odd awards ceremony when Adam and Kesha gave the awards to Max and Dr. Luke. Yes, he maneuvered around that question well..dodge for sure and well-played, Adam!

It could very well be that Max Martin, since he has been churning out hits, same genre, same style, somewhat the same sound is something 'Adam didn't want or was part of his vision for the new album. Also maybe Max's asking fee was more than Adam was willing to spend. The more popular you are, the higher the fee.

Why hasn't anyone Squeeed about him actually saying Sauli's name again??!!!!!!!!!!! He only does that for us! His fans! For the press, he won't talk about Sauli, but for us,..... well he does love us after all! It is so damn cute!!!

I feel when Adam talks about Sauli now, it comes to him more natural, you know after so many months together, like a long lasting relationship!

YMMV I agree with this, and others here who have said the album has shifted direction significantly from where he thought it was going in the beginning. My optimistic self also thinks that some amazing opportunities and/or collabs came along late in the game, and things had to be shuffled to take advantage. The writer part of me winces a bit at his "perfectionist" tweet, because I know darn well how that goes. NOTHING is ever perfect enough, and it's really easy to keep tweaking and tweaking forever. But at the same time, Adam knows how important the first single is, and how important this whole album is, so overall I trust him to get it right AND get it out in a reasonable time. Also, I am still flailing and freaking out at getting a tweet from him! With TWO smilies!!!! I kinda wish he'd selected one of my more interesting questions though, lol
