Ya, he recorded it in NYC while on tour! Why hasn't anyone Squeeed about him actually saying Sauli's name again??!!!!!!!!!!! He only does that for us! His fans! For the press, he won't talk about Sauli, but for us,..... well he does love us after all! It is so damn cute!!! I'll Squee with you! I get a big grin on my face whenever he mentions Sauli! What I love about it is that when asked about "relationships" by the press he won't talk. But for us, he is so darn casual now about saying, "Sauli!" He really loves us and more importantly, knows we love him!

I'm not too disappointed about not working with Max Martin. I see IIHY and WWFM as yesterdays sounds. Out with the old in with the new!

Then why don't we compare him to Kelly Clarkson or Chris Daughtry. They had to wait for their soon-to-be released albums for 29 months and 31 months. A few extra months past the "magic two year mark" is not what killed David Cook's CD. It was boring, dreary music and he had zero buzz. Adam is not in the same place DC was in! The difference is Daughtry had many singles from his last album and was never off the radio. Kelly was delayed by RCA. They are both established enough at this point to be off the radio for extended periods, I don't know that Adam is. We are in the Adam bubble and struggling to find daily news. I like David, but would not consider myself a fan. His fans kept saying pre-release that he was making things perfect, but the product was just bad. David Cook had a very successful tour and a sizable fanbase. I know Adam has more, but continued delay could have the same result. I am not trying to be a downer or a troll. I just can't see anything positive about a further delay. Adam doesn't seem to be his normal upbeat self at this twitter party. He seemed more subdued, serious and a little down. It is probably just my reflections. Cook never had a pop hit and was never seen as relevant to pop culture. His era off of AI hit the tail end of the Nickelback/fake rocker reign on the Pop charts. DC had nothing to offer on this last album that was current or relevant to what's hot on the charts at this time. DC's image and music were a downer and he had zero buzz with this second album. His second album didn't even have enough reviews to warrent a score on metacritic. No pop hits, no Grammy nomination, zero buzz, a boring image, and lack of interest outside of the US led to the low sales numbers for Cook's second album. If Adam's singles do well on the Pop charts, it won't matter that his second album falls outside of the two year period that some fans have decided is make or break for an artist. Three or four months is not going to matter to casual fans. Most groups and solo artist take longer than two years between albums. The exceptions are the Pop Princess types like Gaga, Katy, Kesha, etc. Oh, and Rihanna NEVER takes a break. :

If it just repeats what you did before then I think you'll have trouble as an artist.

No matter what combo of factors caused the slight single delay, and November is still in the "ish" of October by my reckoning, Adam's only going to mention the ones that put the blame on him rather than outside circumstances or others.
He could have said "I'm working with new great collaborators" but it doesn't look like he's starting new music, just figuring out/finishing among the three contenders. And of course he doesn't want to dis older collaborators.
He knows that late November onwards is dead time. He knows that the first single is crucially important, not a make or break, but the surest shot to the stratosphere, hence the "HAS to be perfect." Look at the scary examples people bring up from idol and you will see singles that weren't perfect for radio.
About the change or addition to his artistic direction, it only looks all for the best to me. Looks like some songs from the early direction might still be in like stuff with Claude, Outlaws of Love, etc. But adding Pharrell, Rico, Benny.. and talking about Ed Banger and dancing = radio friendly and awesome to me.
For total conjecture, I wonder if some of the "perfecting" is about backing beats, dubstep and trance vs. electro/disco/funk for example.
the production can make such a huge difference in the freshness of the sound. As Adam would say, it has to be Next ;D

She doesn't write, she just comes in and sings, then they produce it for her. Songs done and album pops out. She tours afterwards. Fewer engagment, larger venues. Wash, wash over again. Her success is diminishing, however.

Consolidated tweets from Twitter Party on page 1. I still need to clean it up. Thanks whatyasay for bringing them all over!!! I put the whole thing into a Twitlonger: www.twitlonger.com/show/dhthlgSo grateful for the recap. Of all days to be out with mom, just got in, decided to glance at Twitter before have to play Barbies go to college with 6 yr old, and found out I had missed the Twitter party. I love that he seems chilled, so maybe, as usual, we made much ado about nothing, well it not "nothing" but you get my drift. He really may have missed his (second) calling by not becoming a mental health professional. The man's a master.
