I'm not too disappointed about not working with Max Martin. I see IIHY and WWFM as yesterdays sounds. Out with the old in with the new!

OK I have what I believe is the track list for BFM -- from the distributor. The songs are registered as written by Lambert-Pittman. A couple are under alternate titles. 1. BEG FOR MERCY 2. ROUGH TRADE 3. THE CIRCLE (registered as "Complete") 4. TURNING ON 5. JUST THE WAY IT IS 6. SACRIFICE 7. POP GOES THE CAMERA (registered as "15 Minutes of Fame") 8. MP3s KILLED THE RECORD COMPANIES 9. CRAWL THROUGH FIRE10. RUN AWAY At least it has two of pre-Idol pop-rock tracks are on the album. I refuse to buy this, but I might steal a few songs. I don't believe for a minute that Adam will get a penny for this because if he owned any of the rights, he would be able to stop it. hmmm...Interesting observation! Even if Adam is going to make a few dollars on this, I doubt he feels the money would be worth the misrepresentation of him as an artist. I refuse to buy this, as well, simply due to the fact that Adam was clearly upset about the release of this music. Adam in no way seemed okay with this music being released in a packaged album with his name on it. >:( If Adam is upset about it, I'm upset about it! :(

awww, man, times like this I wish I had a twitter account (gotta remind myself that most other times, like it or not, it is definitely GOOD for me to resist that rabbit hole!). Maybe someone should ask him if the style/sound/feeling of the album has undergone a significant change since he began working on it. Because I'm sure there are a lot of reasons, technical and non-Adam specific, bureaucratic, economic, etc, behind the mild delays, but I'm getting the definite uneducated sense that one part of it is that Adam has shifted slightly in his feelings about the music and what he wants it to sound like. The new collabs, the vaguest hints in these tweets, support that feeling for me. Anyone else get that feeling? Like there has been an Adam-determined fresh direction here? I feel like Adam is going through this creative process at a moment of concentrated artistic and emotional evolution in his life, which must be the MOST EXCITING time to be making an album, but must also spin him up in a whirl of ever transforming energy that makes him not quite ready to finish it up now. Perhaps he was well on his way to finishing the album, but then met new people and artists, and hit a new, expansive stage in a supremely important personal relationship, and then was inspired by a week in the desert and all sorts of new sights and sounds and feelings...why let go now when the ride is still so full of force and motion and excitement and FUN? Especially when you feel all this urgency to make an exceptional SECOND album that expresses yourself and where you are? I've never been involved, I think, in so intense a creative process, but I've certainly spent enough time working on something (a collaborative book-like something) which took long enough and got stuck in enough of an old rut that by the time it came out I felt almost entirely emotionally disconnected from it. I for one am so glad that Adam is taking his time and riding out his ride letting it roll freely over his new creative terrain on this one. Makes me more and more excited and more and more willing to wait... I love your last 2 paragraphs. I'm as anxious as everyone else, but love the place he seems to be and the excitement he exudes. I mean, he even said Sauli's name, how much more content and happy can he be?

Cook never had a pop hit and was never seen as relevant to pop culture. His era off of AI hit the tail end of the Nickelback/fake rocker reign on the Pop charts. DC had nothing to offer on this last album that was current or relevant to what's hot on the charts at this time. DC's image and music were a downer and he had zero buzz with this second album. His second album didn't even have enough reviews to warrent a score on metacritic. No pop hits, no Grammy nomination, zero buzz, a boring image, and lack of interest outside of the US led to the low sales numbers for Cook's second album. If Adam's singles do well on the Pop charts, it won't matter that his second album falls outside of the two year period that some fans have decided is make or break for an artist. Three or four months is not going to matter to casual fans. Most groups and solo artist take longer than two years between albums. The exceptions are the Pop Princess types like Gaga, Katy, Kesha, etc. Oh, and Rihanna NEVER takes a break. : Rihanna never takes a break because she has it easy. She doesn't write, she just comes in and sings, then they produce it for her. Songs done and album pops out. She tours afterwards. Fewer engagment, larger venues. Wash, wash over again. Her success is diminishing, however. And that's why, even tho I am fatigued of her schtick and I didn't particularly care for her last album, I respect Gaga. Strip away all the gimmicks and stuff and she at least writes her own music and has a big hand in how it's made, she isn't just a fem pop bot. Yeah Rihanna has catchy songs, but come on now. And even tho, imo, Kesha can't sing to save her life, at least she has a big hand in writing her music. Heck, most good looking young women could be pop stars with the hottest writers giving them songs and autotune...it takes actual talent however to craft or help craft your own music, whether or not it turns out to be popular or not. I think that's why Adam had a big focus on writing/co-writing. It helps to legitimatize him as an artist and not just a product--oh and the royalties don't hurt!

Wanted to delurk to state my opinion about Max Martin. I think it is almost impossible to imagine that Adam did not work with Max in some form for his new album. Max over the past year or so has been part of many hits with Bonnie, Bennie, Dr Luke, etc. I would not be the least bit surprised if you see his name and stamp on the songs that Bonnie and Bennie worked with him on, not to mention that Adam has stated that there are songs on the album that he did not write on, ala Max Martin material IMHO. Here is to hopping so on my part.

mys*&@^#r50 He's talking to us like he's talking to a FRIEND! :D Yes he does. : I guess Adam maybe was bored and had the twitter party while Sauli had to watch TV. The Finnish BB and DWS were on TV tonight and Sauli must follow them to be able to discuss them with Katri in the next week’s Tutka.
