The last Soundscan number we got on FYE it was at 824K and selling around 800 units a week. It will end up Platinum but probably not until after Adam #2 in released. The new single will most build up demand for the new album but it will also increase sales of the old album -- FYE. Certification is based upon wholesale shipments and includes some units not included above. But that usually amounts to +10% or so putting FYE around 900K-920K in wholesale shipments. Close but not there yet. Thanks for busting my bubble :D Lol, j/k But then again it could, I mean I know absolutely nothing in marketing, but would they want FYE to be certified platinum for extra promoting power in the press and promo? Or does it not even matter? It doesn't really matter. I used to do consumer research about what drives music sales. The fans who know about certifications, buy the album anyway. The less knowledgeable fans do not know or care. Critics are all over the board and do not seem to have much influence on the buying decisions. No matter how you cut it -- you need promotion to build awareness of the new music (radio, TV, online etc.), you need music that people want to buy, and you need an artist who fans want to support because most people know how to get free music.

Do anyone think that RCA is waiting closer to release time of Album #2, to certify FYE to platinum, so they can tote that in the press release to promote Adam #2? twitter.com/#!/SonyMusicGlobal/status/62645432395902977 @sonymusicglobal Sony Music Global RT @rcapromo: Go on girl! @iamjhud Jennifer Hudson's album "I Remember Me" has been certified gold by the RIAA! 25th April pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=artistaj&action=display&thread=99486&page=1032 Jennifer Hudson “I Remember Me” 17K (-17%; lw 21K) Total: 290K (19) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sony / RCA / RIAA certified Jennifer Hudson's album back in April, 2011 Gold (Gold should be 500k copies) with only 290k sold.

I understand the sentiment but this is such a difficult decision. On the one hand you would steal the songs and give Adam nothing of what he was owed from work he did (even though he doesn't support this album). On the other hand you wouldn't support and album he doesn't really want released. Kind of a moral grey area, no? (Not at all saying this in a blaming way - I just think it's a hard decision). It's not a hard decision for me! I'm going with what Adam wants. He isn't happy with the release of this music and he doesn't want to support something that is taking advantage of his name- for a few dollars. The man made plenty of money in the last couple of years. Adam doesn't have to sacrafice his good name and his dignity for some pocket change. If I want any of these songs, I will steal them. I won't have any problem with cheating the unethical scumbags that put this album out there. ;D ;D Yeah Slappy, I don't really see the moral grey area. It not a hard decision ~for me anyway. Adam doesn't want them released. Good enough for me really. It's his brand.

It's kinda greyish for me, too, simply because I wouldn't be able to shake the feeling that of the various people I'd be stealing from by downloading illegally, one of them is Adam. Frankly, and I don't think it's a big deal, but personally, I feel uncomfortable downloading anyone's music illegally, and Adam's? And this isn't Take One--this is something that, at one time, he worked on/ wrote on for himself. I dunno. I'm not happy with either option, and could see myself just not doing either--not buying, not downloading. But I know that's not really any different--it's just a passive way of doing the same thing. :-/ Dunno...No good way out on this one... But I also think it's not the end of the world, it won't hurt Adam much, it won't help him much to make some minor money off of it, at most, I honestly believe, this is an annoyance that comes with fame. As Adam has said, countless times, it's worth it. So I sympathize with all the worries, but I wouldn't get too upset over it. Adam's beyond.

And he'll be on TV performing the single! Awesome day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For me, when Adam says he is happy with the results and ready for release, I'm on board! On TV again performing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just think of all the times I can hit the youTube replay button ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Loved the twitter party, better than cleaning house, which was what I was doing :( It's okay though, less dog hair and happy ending. Isn't that REALLY what being here and loving Adam is all about????? The HAPPY ending!!!! I know Adam will be making beautiful music way beyond my time, I am so thrilled to be here for the beginning. Such an awesome day! The only down side that I can see is that gelly & reihmer have more days to entertain me with their endless pics and .........reihmer........why is that boat/ship sailing in orange Fanta soda?????????? Lifeguard, hope you liked the video of the dogs being happy! Love to ALL of you! (Mika, xoxo, check email very soon!) I did, I loved the video. I have a black lab, River, and a chocolate lab, Reilly, who keep me laughing all the time.

If Adam doesn't support the album it really is a simple decision. Plus Adam doesn't usually do grey. It's either Black or Light Black! ;D Touché

And by the way, for those of you wondering, this was the "wooden ouruboros structure" that was Adam and Sauli's favorite at Burning Man, and guess what?! It was built by the Flipside folks, who are AUSTIN's Burner community!!! For some reason this makes me stupidly happy, because I know some folks involved in it, and I think AMW does, too. SO yay for Austin, too! ETA: btw, the ouruboros, or serpent eating its own tail, represents cyclical rebirth. Kinda appropriate inspiration for someone who's in the creative part of the album cycle, getting ready to release album number 2, dontcha think? :D Adam sooooo needs to come premiere this album in Austin! He's never been!

Hard to believe that Adam has never played Austin!! Seems like the perfect market for him.

Hard to believe that Adam has never played Austin!! Seems like the perfect market for him. It is hard to believe but he will come this time around ... I am sure of it. After all, Austin is the home of Whole Foods and how could he pass that up. ;D

As Adam has said, countless times, it's worth it. So I sympathize with all the worries, but I wouldn't get too upset over it. Adam's beyond. Just a thought: If this BFM album is semi-successful and makes some decent money for the scumbags, they will drop another fake album when Adam gets ready to release his 3rd album...and then his fourth... What we have here are some unethical people who are trying to maximize their profits by cashing in on Adam's name, voice and the timing and promo for his legit CD. It's a pretty scummy thing to do! >:( The more money they make, the more of these bastard albums there will be at places like Target and Best Buy that confuse casual fans and weaken Adam's brand. :( Yes, Adam might get a LITTLE money out of this, but it is money he doesn't want. I'll buy a poster or a key chain at a concert to put the money back into Adam's pocket that I didn't give him, but I'm not supporting those who take advantage of Adam!
