HUH?? Lisa's little rant had nothing to do with fans going after her! That was NEVER the case! Did someone rewrite history? [puzzled] I think you might have read that wrong. Lisa was venting (rather transparently) about Adam. Things escalated when people started asking why she was metaphorically airing dirty laundry. The initial rant of course had nothing to do with fans. That came later. Gotcha. That's why I already deleted my question.

SERIOUSLY UNPOPULAR OPINION FORTHCOMINGIf ya don't want to hear it, scroll now..... Last chance to scroll...... Ok, here goes. The person I feel most sorry for is Monte. Hold on, if you haven't scrolled yet to this point, hear me out. I did not scroll. Your points are valid, plausible and well laid out. Thank you.

I think I was unclear in my last post. I was addressing the gray area of whether or not to "steal" the tracks. I am clear that Adam doesn't want us to buy them. Not so clear about whether or not it is okay with him if we listen to them and share them with others. Whether we post them publicly on YT or via twitter.
In my mind, the moral high road is to say, Adam doesn't want them released, so I won't listen to them or make them available to others. When in doubt better to err on the side of caution. However, I admit that my morals are not that high. If someone posts the tracks on the internet, I WILL listen. And, if I like what I hear, I will "steal" them for my iPod. Even tho I am not sure that would be okay with Adam.

Personally I wish Adam's previous work would come out in Era#4 or Era#5 when he is more established. I believe these types of albums will also have more traction and be more meaningful at such time.

Just doesn't want them released, reviewed and talked about. At least not now. He probably wouldn't mind at some later date. Again, JMO

When someone makes the documentary about Adam's life in 20 or thirty years, those early recordings will be an integral part of his history. Everything, the good, the bad, the embarrassing, the sublime, will tell the story of a man who struggled, evolved, and triumphed over time-- while changing music and society for the better.
I may be conflicted about whether or not to "steal" his early music, but I believe it is good and ESSENTIAL that they be released (somehow), listened to, digested, and placed in context of the artist's life.

If they had been released 6 months ago and labeled CV then I might have bought them. But the sleazy way this has been done should not be rewarded.

I do agree that they are an important part of his story...just not this way. Although I must admit I do not care for the CV stuff at all.
