When someone makes the documentary about Adam's life in 20 or thirty years, those early recordings will be an integral part of his history. Everything, the good, the bad, the embarrassing, the sublime, will tell the story of a man who struggled, evolved, and triumphed over time-- while changing music and society for the better. I may be conflicted about whether or not to "steal" his early music, but I believe it is good and ESSENTIAL that they be released (somehow), listened to, digested, and placed in context of the artist's life. If they had been released 6 months ago and labeled CV then I might have bought them. But the sleazy way this has been done should not be rewarded. Yes, it's the sleaze factor that makes the whole thing so ugly for me. ???

LOL no need to duck hoppers! I totally get where you're coming from and I agree with a lot of what you said. I don't feel MORE bad for Monte but I do feel for him. As much as these tracks don't represent Adam's artistic vision, they do represent Monte's and I'm sure it's frustrating for him to not be able to put it out there when they are just as much his as Adam's. But I also see it as these tracks were pretty dead in the water as far as we know and there was practically zero chance that he could ever get them released. That is, until Adam hit the big time. So the only reason he now has the chance to get this music out there is because of Adam's fame. I guess what I'm saying is that I think he started to have SOME hope that the tracks would be released. He seemed pretty optimistic about it at one point but I guess it didn't work out and to have your hopes dashed again must be pretty frustrating. Of course, all this is just based on what I think I know about the situation so....yeah :

Aloha... I really appreciate your thoughts.
Stardust, Rad... Timing sucks big time. Nice if it were 'Adam Lambert circa CV'.

Aloha... I really appreciate your thoughts. Stardust, Rad... Timing sucks big time. Nice if it were 'Adam Lambert circa CV'. Or Citizen Vein featuring Adam Lambert. It's the timing and trickiness that does it for me. Sleazy, sleazy, sleazy!!! And I agree, those would never have released if Adam hadn't made it big.

Sleazy is a good word for it! >:( Feel sorry for Monte?? No way! If he wants something more than being a member of a touring band, it is his responsibility to leave Adam and go and find something that makes him happy. Monte didn't play on FYE or he didn't write any of those songs, but he still agreed to travel the world as a member of Adam's touring band. (and take money from Adam fans for his kickstarter project) He has profited in many ways from his association with Adam. If Monte thought he and Adam were going to turn into some kind of band who records together, it's his own fault. Adam is a solo artist, and will always be one! If Monte believes in the type of music on BFM, let him go find another vocalist and start up a band. Instead, he has chosen to be in a backing band for the past 10-15 years. These are his choices, so I don't feel sorry for him. Adam is the star. HE is the reason for the sold-out crowds. Monte is replaceable. Adam is not.

Stardust... I know it's frustrating for many, including Adam. But I truly feel that in the end all will work out. Adam is also digesting this info/scheme/ChessMove as we. He has resources. Even if it's not checkmate, it will be checked.

Okay, this is totally off topic, but I can't find Majors and Minors ANYWHERE on the Hub network in my area. It won't even let me search for the title. It stops me at Major - won't allow the "s" so I can't go on. Has anyone figured out what happened to the show? Is it just my area. It wasn't on Friday and it wasn't on tonight. They advertised the heck out of it on major networks and now it seems to be gone? Anyone else find it??

Why doesn't Adam want them released? Is it a money thing? Is it because the guy is trying to capitalize on Adam's fame and on the timing of Adam's releases? Is it because it will confuse consumers about who he currently is as an artist? Is it because, being a perfectionist, he doesn't think these early works are acceptable? He wasn't able to put the finishing touches on them? They are not ready for public consumption? Excellent questions, cassie, but I wonder if we're ever gonna know the answers. Twitter doesn't seem to be an appropriate medium for addressing these kinds of questions. 140 characters doesn't give you much leeway for thoughtful responses, and Adam seems to prefer to focus on superficial stuff during his "twitter parties". I'd dearly love to hear a serious indepth interview where Adam could address your questions... I think it could be really informative and enlightening. I'm just wondering if there will be a gag order on the entire BFM issue, while lawyers deal with it. :-/
